Every team member brings a smile to your face and the customers are amazing. Volunteers are alwasy helpful and smiling. The organization itself is amazing and I am proud to say that I am a valued member of it. The amount of men, women, and children who need help in the saginaw area is always growing and this organization always has its arms open and ready to help. They are well organized as well as the DVDs. You can't beat the pricing for hard cover books at $1.49 each. It wasn't until I left that I noticed I was charged $2.99 for a book and $4.99 for the Forest Gump DVD. These items had small stickers on the spine that I thought were hold overs from the person who donated the items. The other books were $1.49. The children's book I purchased was only 49 cents. I will be back because this is next door to one of my favorite ice cream shops!

Wed is Senior discount day and they lowered the senior discount from 20 to 10%. SO Tell me what population are you trying to serve? This is a shameful nickel and diming of your elderly community. Same goes for your Veteran discount. Yeah, give them 10% off for dodging a bullet... oy. Salvation Army on State Street in Saginaw Mi. The prices in there are nutty .. sometimes they are okay and sometimes its like squirrels priced stuff. I usually shut my mouth and shake my head, leaving alot of things behind. Today I was in this morning. They have stuff priced for more then I can buy it new. Yes, no exaggeration but here was one of the most JAW DROPPING price tags. Empty jars that candles came in .. for 3.99 each. YEP... completely empty clear glass jars that used to have a candle in it. Some even with the old label still on them and they are selling them for 4 bucks a piece! GEE I wonder how much you could sell a Tomato sauce jar for? I hope they have an explanation for this and please since I cant imagine that they could explain it.. I hope they have someone go through their shelves and price items like they are not on dope. MY PLAN moving forward Ive ALWAYS donated to Salvation army with $$ with household goods and by shopping there. Im going to start donating to smaller thrift stores that are not trying to match new store prices. There are Thrift stores that continue to do the work locally.. sell their donated items at a sensible profit without overpricing everything and treat their senior and veteran communities with a respectful discount one day a week. When I arrived, I was told the items had already been "sold" to a friend of the estate sale company before the sale opened to the public. To make matters worse, a sign-up sheet was suddenly produced that had not been available when I was there raising concerns about whether all customers were being given the same opportunity to purchase items fairly. The situation felt very unprofessional and unfair. The rude attitude I received when asking about the items only added to the frustration. Based on my experience, I would be hesitant to attend another sale run by this company.

He went on to explain the turnout was so poor he called the owner to get their approval about starting 50% at 3pm that day (they close at 4) vs next day when they open. He explained with the amount of items left tomorrow that prices may drop sooner if there was a lot of inventory left and owners agreed to start 75% off sooner. We thanked him and left. Live an hour away and drove back for 3 pm, were told by the workers they had no idea about 50% off startin. They questioned the owner who said no, I thought when he sees us he'll remember our earlier conversation about him saying to come at three. He was swearing and very belligerent when we tried to tell him everything he said but he would just cut us off. Then says to get my ass off the property, over what? He was spitting, his face turned bright red. Then he changes his story when I confront him on the facts. He started off saying he said 3 tom and we misunderstood . I countered with 50% off starts in the morning not 3 pm, so he modified it to that he told us to come back for 75% off tomorrow at 3. I mean this guy was nasty, I told him we drove an hour to come back. No sane person is going to drive an hour back and make up this whole story of him talking to the owners unless they heard it directly from him. Such and unprofessional person, last thing he needed was to chase away buyers when he had next to none. I mean my husband had to tell him several times to stop screaming and swearing. My husband is a retired police offer and he said after we left the guy is a psycho. I will never go to one of his sales again and word back from other buyers after posting about him, is he's lost a lot of customers over his bad behavior. The guy is a hot head, rude and ignorant person. I will add, he never allowed us to finish the entire conversation we had with him earlier, he would cut us off and start screaming....

It's a little hard to find my size of pants because they just put it in medium, small and large. Instead of sizes. So I have to spend a lot of time searching for my size. Which is a little annoying. They have a very small selection of books which is why I gave 4 stars. They do seem to get a lot of brand new target items with the tag and they put very good prices on them. Lots of kids clothes, woman's and costumes brand new with tags and still low price. I would recommend this store for clothing and home decorating items and some furniture. The furniture I think is a little high on the price. Dented up dressers they wanted $50... I would price it more at like $15-$20. But I still recommend this store.

My friend and I had heard of some great deals ($10 for a tv) and wanted to see if we could cash in on some hidden treasures. Instead if finding bins full of random toys and clothes (much like you see at donation sites and trucks) there were aisles of pressed and cleaned shirts and jeans, many of which had never been worn and donated by clothing manufacturers. Household items and toys were separated and organized on shelves. Most of the electronics were old. If you're looking for an iPad, go to Best Buys. She was adamant that they market specifically to girls fortunate enough to be tiny and almost make girls with a little meat on their bones feel bad. Her comment was that she didn't want to wear things because they made so many girls feel bad. To prove her point she showed me a stack of shorts where the only sizes available were zero and 00. While I'm not hundred percent sure what this means I know she couldn't fit them is they were too small. In most things on the shelf they only had the smaller sizes. This is a very interesting store considering that most Americans are a bit larger. I am guessing I am not saying anything anyone that shops here doesn't already know. My mother has suffered 2 major strokes and now has dementia. she cannot use a bathtub any longer. After applying for a rehab program over three years ago. They lost my inital application.. so they say. after raising fuss to corporate they put mom. They contacted us saying that had funding and I needed to submit documents to complete application. I did that in day of them notifying. Carmen with her elitist privilege attitude refuse my calls. Now mom is still with out a walk in shower. Saginaw location is a racist location who doesn't allocate funds to many black families. They mostly look out for other races.
