The director did not explain the…read moreprocedure very well. the next day when we received the hospital bed. my mom was not able to walk or even get into the bed. The day before she had fallen and sprang her ankle. I called the director Kim Baldwin at the time and told her I need someone to come down and help get my mom in the bed. I was told that her nurse couldn't do it by himself and that I needed to call my Church members, family, or neighbors. I told her that all my Church family is old. I tried to explain she needs to be lifted out of her recliner to the bed. Finally she told me to call 911 non emergency that I need a left assists from the fire department. It caused me and and mom to be overwhelmed. Also when my mom passed she did not commutate to the funeral home who she was and didn't give them my contact number. When they came to pick up my mom up they said they will call me Monday. I found out from the director at the funeral had no information of the Hospice facility my mom was under or no contact number to call me. The Funeral called everywhere trying to find out what facility my mom was under and a contact number. Finally I called the funeral home and told them who i was and I gave the director Hospice number to contact Kim. The director said she sent the death certificate and he refused sign it. She did not call four times she called twice and said she left a message but the Funeral home does not have a answering machine. and the second time she was mad because the funeral home called because Kim wouldn't call her back she got mad and called receptionist that they were trying to make her look bad to us and said she called four times. I wasn't impressed with Kim but i tried to understand her way. My family was really upset. On the other the staff that came to our house were awesome and took care of my mom with great care. I would rate a five star for the staff.

From the first meeting, they answered our questions and provided information for us on what to expect, how hospice care worked, and the resources available to us. Two days after my mother entered hospice, they brought in the care team to meet with us. This included the nurses that were going to be working with my mom, the CNA, social worker, and Chaplain. The nurses have always been responsive when I've texted or called and the after hours nurse I talked to was also great. The hospice social worker put us in touch with their volunteer coordinator and helped us arrange a volunteer to spend some time with my mom. I want to thank Nurse Terri, Nurse Darcy, CNA Virginia, Social Worker Chris, Volunteer Coordinator Patrick, and Chaplain Tim. Your support for my family during this time has been invaluable.

JUST GO…read more Unfortunately, an issue at home meant my stay ended early - there was a tragic miscommunication amongst staff the day before as well, which they handled with the utmost integrity. It was certainly the only snafu in my experience, and it rightfully belongs in the "sh*t happens" category. Staff had the humility and courage to own the mistake, and that willingness alone was enough to know that I had come to a place full of people who are truly the real deal when it comes to mental health. I left because I had to - not because I wanted to. In fact, I was planning on extending 30 days to complete their PHP, but life called me back home. Make no mistake - were it not for having to leave to handle something horrific back home (I'm from the other side of the country), I would still be there. I woke up this morning aching to go back to the safety, the compassion, the grace, and the mercy of Peaks. The staff are beyond wonderful. They sat with me through the darkest day of my life, and did nothing but love me. I can't describe how supported I felt. I could literally *feel* the empathy of the clinicians, nurses, and medical providers who sat with me and held space through the worst two panic attacks I've ever had. My housemates and I, and especially my roommate, wove a web of support and belonging I had never experienced. (Prior to admission, I literally could not get out of bed or do anything remotely social - I was even finding it hard to leave the house). I had the BEST time being part of a community, which gave me new confidence, and reassurance that I could get back into the game of life. I'm a therapist myself and I would 100% recommend Peaks as a committed, compassionate, caring healing space of the very highest quality. These people have their sh*t together. I have never encountered a place full of people who truly WANT to be there for you. Imagine being asked multiple times per day by staff if there is anything you need to feel supported. Being surrounded by people who know and care whether you've eaten that day, how you slept last night, and whether you need anything else to feel safe was pretty mind-boggling. I would trust Peaks to treat my nearest and dearest with zero hesitation. It will be the only mental health treatment center to which I refer my clients. Thank God for Peaks. Certainly I will forget to name some of the incredible staff, but Faith, Kinnley, Clint, Kara, Holly, Angela, Dr. Nichols, Sasha, JUDY, Cindy, Kyle, Pema, Julia, Chef, Taylor, Tara, Logan (x2), Heather, Eric, Marissa, the various therapists who led group, Bobby, Max in admissions, and Rachel - thank you for giving me a home, and at long last, an accurate mirror. Thank you also for tolerating my dirty blue hair and my massive disco fruit snuggie. I miss everyone already. Although I only got to stay for 10(ish) of the 30 days I had planned, the changes in me are real. I came into Peaks as a 47 year-old adult child, and left as a grown-up. Thank you, Peaks, for turning me back into me. Thank you for restoring my dignity. I will carry a piece of you in my heart always with immense gratitude. There is something spiritual in the particles and energy at this place that truly brought me back to life.

Nursing care, weekly visits by the staff doctor, nutritional planning and diet, rehab classes, housekeeping services and daily social activities all contribute to successful recuperation and favorable outcomes. I am so impressed with my progress that I have elected to complete my full 9 to 12 physical therapy program as a full time resident here. I am confident that the continuing care I receive will lead to my full recovery and prepare me to resume a fully independent life and lifestyle. Mr. Terry Lamantia, Facility Administrator, is to be commended for assembling a very fine group of professional and service staff whose well directed and focused efforts work together seamlessly to deliver a health care environment well suited to attaining successful outcomes. I waited maybe about 5 minutes before being called to the back for my appointment. Was very nice and polite. She asked all the questions and put everything into my chart. She said Dr. Howarth would be in shortly. I waited about 10/15mins. Dr. Howarth finally came in. He was just as nice as always. We talked about how I was feeling fatigued, the pain in the groin area and the muscle spasms I have at night. We also discussed the physical therapy and how that was going. Let me know to get me some magnesium to help with what I got going on. I'm satisfied with the surgery and everything that has happened so far. So no complaints on my part. I do recommend him to family and friends. I got a chance to see Taneisha on my way out. She's one of the bestest. She made sure durning this process I got to get everything that was needed to help with recovery and healing... All I Can say is his staff "ROCKS"!!! Keep up the good work ladies:-)

My wife got so ill, I had to take her to the emergency room. The emergency room doctor; Dr. Crawford; ran tests and indicated the joint looked infected. He called in the standby surgeon to open the wound, clean it out and do a revision (Replace the socket lining and the ball. My wife had to spend five days in St. Francis hospital recovering and was placed on infusion treatments for six weeks after discharge. She just completed the forth week. This has been a nightmare for Suzanne and I. We don't know what the outcome will be. Type of care was poor. Quality was poor. Office experience gave us the impression that the staff could careless. If I had not taken her to the ER and waited until the delayed post OP follow up, the infection could have gone into her blood stream and infected her whole body. This is what the nurse who helped with the procedure that confirmed the infected hip.

After surgery I was rolled into my room and the first person I remember was Nurse Chloe Dey. While there were others along side her, SHE WAS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING! Loving, nurturing, compassionate, knowledgeable and proficient, I felt assured I would live to see another day. Throughout my stay she and Emily Wolfe, and Emily Siekmeier and Nurse Thu were literally some of the most amazing women I think I've ever met! All of them worked in unison to ensure I was comfortable and informed and took such amazing care of me that I was able to go home a little less than 48 hours later. I will forever be grateful for these remarkable women.
