My go-to place! They do a great job, and are always accommodating for emergency appointments, when we have burrs or messes!

Your pets are in safe hands if you board with Dr. Karr and Cyd!…read more I boarded our corgi here for the first time ever after my friend (who has also left a review here) raved about Dr. Karr. We have a situation where our dog requires 5 different types of eye medication, three times a day in his eyes. So that means someone has to be able to give him the meds at night around 9 or 10. Until I heard about this place, the only place in town who could do this is Petsmart. No other boarding place has someone working there late at night. Cyd told me this wasn't even an issue and of course they'd be able to give him his meds whenever we said he needed them. So it was a non-issue. Unheard of. I spoke to them on the phone a few times and they reassured me Gryff would be in good hands. First off, they take your dog out six times a day. Without a charge. That's just normal and routine. This is UNHEARD OF, people. You're lucky if your dog can be let out more than twice and they get to be outdoors. Not in a room like at Petsmart. You also have the option to let your dog be taken out in a group of other dogs (so they get some play time) or they can go out with just the people. Since our dog is getting a little older, playing with other dogs is hit or miss. To prevent this, they just spent more time with him and said he was great! I've also been told by people at Petsmart that my dog gets put in "time out" because he'd bark at other dogs. He's a mediator. That's a trait of corgis; big dog in a small dog body. But they took it as him being "aggressive" and he wasn't allowed in the group plays. At Pittsfield Pet Care, Cyd told me he was fine. Sure, they spent more time with him than him with other dogs, but they said he was totally fine. I have to trust two people who know and understand dogs over a kid working in a pet store. Dr. Karr is a licensed vet so if something happens there is someone there who will be able to take care of them. This is extremely reassuring. Given our dog's medical history, and a slight toe injury he was getting over, it was good to know he'd be in good hands should anything happen. Bottom line: board your pet here. They're going to be in compassionate dog people who know, understand and love dogs like their own. Their rate is great too ($30/night) and we only had a pay an additional fee per day because of the amount of medicine he needs. The facility is clean, which is a big thing on my list too. Drop-off and Pick-up was a breeze and these two people are two of the most friendly and wonderful people I have met.

He even checks in as a Vet on my 2 dogs while they are boarding to make sure they always have what they need. I can barely hold the dogs back as they run to the door to get inside. I never have to worry about them. I can't give 10 stars since yelp only allows for 5, but they deserve it. The Mello's

I went to visit Classy Canines before making my appointment with my pup because I wanted to check out the location and meet the groomer. It is located in the back of a vets office and Lori, the head groomer, was friendly and seemed knowledgable. I decided to book my first appointment for my large breed dog. When my appointment day came I brought my dog in and we had an 'intake interview' she asked me if my dog had sensitive skin, I said no. We have had our dog professionally groomed every 4-6 weeks since we got her and she has never shown any signs of skin sensitivity. I knew my dog was matted (definitely not the worst its ever been but a little more than normal) and decided to cut her short because of this. When I came in to pick up my dog I noticed that her skin was red on her legs and Lori said she had put some ointment on it and then brushed it off as no big deal. I asked a couple prodding questions to try and get a better understanding, but she said to just discourage my dog from licking. I also noticed that there were multiple toe-nails that were cut too short and had bled. One nail cut too short is understandable, but multiple nails (her nails are not black), is hard to understand. By the time I got home and had a chance to run my hands over my dog I noticed there were red marks and blade burns all over her (a total of 7 different areas). I took photos so I could send to Lori with my concerns. By the next day my husband and I were increasingly worried and took our dog to the vet, where we learned that our pup had developed a staff infection from the groomer. She had to wear an e-collar and take antibiotics. It was super disappointing that it came down to this. The vet said there should be no explanation or excuse from a professional groomer to cause so many burns and cuts and she had never seen such a poor job. When I explained all of this to Lori in an email (I tried to get her on the phone but she never returned my call) she emailed back taking very little responsibility and said the spots and burns were due to her being heavily matted and having sensitive skin. After this I just asked for a refund - no use in arguing. The only reason I'm giving the second star is because I appreciate that Lori is a wise enough business woman to give a refund when one is due. I hope this is a one-off experience and isn't a common issue with them. I'm sure they have many happy customers. Nevertheless, i will not be coming back or recommending them to other people.

I wonder if dogs that did not enjoy it as much as mine did had some other problem that their owners were not aware of. I am very happy with my and my dogs' experiences and recommend Sudsy Pup Spa to all my friends with dogs. Melanie W.

Be warned! Do not bring your pet here…read more There is a reason why this business is rated as "D+" through the Better Business Bureau (link here: https://www.bbb.org/us/mi/ann-arbor/profile/pet-grooming/sudsy-pup-spa-0372-90065110) and I was unlucky enough to find out why. On 6/2/2026 they injured my dog so badly that she required stitches! Based on this incident and the owners response until today (6/24/2026), the rating totally fits. In my correspondence with the owner, I made my request for resolution clear and simple: refund the grooming service on this date and pay the $735 vet bill. My request is reasonable. I am not asking for anything more than the objective cost to me for this incident, but even if Sudsy Pup obliged my request it would NEVER repair the trauma caused to my dog or compensate for the recovery over the next several weeks. A reputable business would easily and quickly honor such a simple request. I've been bringing my dog here for more than a year and have always received above average grooming results. Sudsy Pup insists on blaming my dog for the sever injuries she sustained citing her jumpy and distracted temperament on 6/2/2026 instead of considering that maybe my dog was so jumpy because she was being actively cut, drawing blood. If my dog was too hard to handle during the appointment on 6/2/2026 the groomer should have done one of two things: 1) STOPPED grooming and call me to pick my dog up; or 2) Passed her to the next competent groomer to complete the job. There is no reason to continue grooming if she was being unruly while also being SEVERELY injured. The groomer on 6/2/2026 was willfully negligent and now I know the owner is an enabler. This is unacceptable. I strongly discourage anyone from bringing their furry family member here. I say this not because of the very deep cut they caused to my dog, but because of the owners response including the rejection of paying the resulting $735 vet bill. This business has no compassion or empathy for animals, which I feel is essential to run a business like this. This business only wants your money. They do not care about the harm they cause to animals under their care and they refuse to take accountability by hiding behind their "standard waiver."
