UPDATE FOR A COVID-19 WORLD: Quality Grooming is back open and safely taking your pups in for a glow up! We last got our pups groomed in early March so we were lucky enough to keep our previously scheduled appointment, although this time it was run a little differently. Everyone in the shop is masked up. You can go into the building with your pup or call them when you arrive and they'll come to your car to get them. As I've mentioned in previous reviews we've got some immunocompromised folks in our family so we opted for the outside handoff. Quality Grooming staff came out masked up and scooped Oliver and Poppy up for their pampering. A few hours later we got the call that they're ready. We paid for the appointment over the phone and my husband went to go get them. He called when he arrived and they brought them out--lookin' cute, smellin' fresh, and trimmed up all fancy like. They always get a summer shave but this time we got them shaved pretty short so we wouldn't have to go in for another appointment for a few months. I'm grateful they were so accommodating. As long as we humans avoided close contact with the staff (for their protection as well) we felt comfortable bringing our pups in for their appointment. They got their summer cuts and I'm happy to report that they slept in our beds through the night for the first time in a week (they had gotten too floofy which made them get super hot in the bed) so I'm very grateful we could still bring them in. I brought her a puppy that doesn't like baths or his face touched due to a bite from another dog and she manages his cleanings just fine and my dog likes her which is important in a breed that can quickly be unfriendly/aggressive. they also have great smelling products they wash the dogs with. we're happy to have settled in with jamie so quickly so that they have an established relationship for his entire life. read more

I cannot get over how amazing my dogs look after the first time visiting here! My 8 year old cavalier has been getting groomed for years, and when my favorite groomer of his left her location, I have been in search for a groomer since. We've tried two other places where it was either too long, choppy, or missed spots. They always blame it on his behavior or sensitive skin which I know isn't true. Also I had brought my new 2 year old Pom mix this time, and he's very nervous and fearful. It's my first time taking him to a groomer and I was super nervous. I dropped them off, and shortly after, I received a call that they had a few fleas (I just applied fleas meds two days before, so I'm not surprised there were a couple) but they went ahead and gave them flea baths. My cavalier is allergic to flea shampoo, among other things, so I immediately called and asked them not to do it. Too late. But!!! She immediately bathed him again, and used an oatmeal shampoo as I requested. When I picked them up I was so happy I almost cried. They looked sooooo handsome! They totally listened to how I wanted them, no missed spots, and they were so soft and smelled amazing. I can't stop starring at them in shock how great they look. Definitely recommend. Seriously love this place and I'm pretty picky about my pup. Only reason is because he will sit there and take anything! so when i take him somewhere that can't even cut his eyebrows evenly it drives me nuts! Janet and joy were extremely accommodating when his hair grew a ton faster and i needed to get him in before our vacation and 2 weeks prior to his next appointment! My dog is incredibly averse to having his nails trimmed, and even the vet could only get a few of his nails. Quality Grooming did such a fantastic job with trimming his nails! They got every single one as well as trim his fur and give him a bath (he looked so cute and smart right afterwards, especially with the little bowtie they gave him :) ). He's a pretty nervous little dude, so I was very pleasantly surprised at how beautiful of a job they did, and so efficiently and professionally! Janet and her crew are wonderful. Then she and her other groomers were on Miller, it used to be super convenient to just take our pup on a morning walk over to get his hair diiid. Their new location is not as convenient for us personally (since we have to coordinate a car), but it's not inconvenient in general. It's easily accessible on the west side and I know they must really be thankful for a little more room to spread out. And everyone at Quality Grooming has always been kind, professional and really kind to Sparky Coupon, so I'm happy for them to move into this next stage of their business. They've been grooming our small poodle/maltese mix, Sparky, for 3+ years now, and always do a great job. Like with all groomers, you'll want to be specific on what you ask for, but once they get to know you and your dog, it's really easy. Everyone is super loving to Sparks, and although he may be reluctant to go, he's never scared or upset - I think he knows he'll be treated well, even if taking a bath/getting a haircut isn't the most fun for him. He gets a jaunty little bandana each visit, too. There was on time when he had a small nick from a blade. I realize that these things do happen now and then, and Janet and her staff were really helpful about apologizing and taking the money that we needed for the antibiotic cream the vet recommended off our next charge. They use Square now, so you can pay by CC, which is nice if you don't ever use checks anymore. As an extra bonus - you get to pick out a toy for your dog after each time, and it's gotten to the point where Sparky pretty much always has a fluffy sun or moon to chew on - they are some of his favorite toys! read more

I have been happy with grooming from Joy, but I will never be back again. I called today to attempt to reschedule my bichons. Since the last time they were groomed I had a close death in my family and grooming was not at the front of my mind. When I called to schedule the person on the phone said, "they haven't been in since Sept? If you are not going to care for your dogs properly we will need to charge you more. And you will need to pre-book next time to attend to your dogs needs instead of your personal schedule." I attempted to interject that she might have no idea the circumstances that would prevent me from bringing them back sooner, but instead of listening she yelled, "I am thinking about your dogs because someone should." Janet did such a wonderful job on our little guy! We recently adopted a senior dog from the shelter, and he was in need of a good bath and haircut. We made an initial appointment for his grooming on a weekend, but he quickly made it clear he was not happy about being there with so many other dogs. Janet was so nice, and was able to schedule us a week later for an appointment during the week when there wouldn't be any other dogs. We brought him back in, worried that he would be too scared and aggressive for a good groom. When I went to pick him up, he was happy, clean, and so handsome! We have been coming to Quality Grooming for years. We have brought multiple animals to them. Followed them to a few different locations. It wasn't until a bit over a year ago that the positive experience has left the building. Since Joy left, we have noticed the business going down hill. We will be finding Chelsea a new groomer. At first it was little things. Changes in the price of her grooming. Finding she was not smelling clean after her grooming and her nails being long still. ( All of which "WE JUST LET GO!") Yes, we didn't call to make a complaint for the small things. I know this will be commented on. Then, she came home one time with several little cuts all over her. This I did call on! Yesterday! She came home, doesn't smell clean and her hair cut is all choppy! I called on this. The final straw was when I called Janet the Owner to ask if something happened! I didn't even get a chance to mention her not smelling clean! I was told I could bring her back, but I was basically given a gruff reaction. I wanted to see if out of the blue, Chelsea was acting up or something else happened! Her first response was No! Then, she back pedaled and said, "Well your husband and daughter came in 15mins early and when I told them she was going to be about 15more mins they sat down in the lobby and refused to leave. She went on to say Chelsea became fidgety and it was hard to finish her grooming. She then repeated to me that they refused to leave. Let me explain that we live 45mins away and still have been bringing our dog to her, to groom her. My husband and daughter said, "We were never asked to leave!" How were we to know it was causing an issue if nothing was said to us! Janet was exceptionally rude to me on the phone and basically blamed my husband, child and dog for her poor grooming! It would have been easy to bath her she is sweet as pie, tell my very nice Husband and daughter, if you could come back in 15mins it would be helpful to Chelsea. We clearly go out of our way for our dog! Wish Joy were able to come back. Much Appreciation for the good grooms Chelsea has had at this establishment. However, Due to the rude behavior we are going elsewhere. It's not worth a 45min drive to be treated poorly, blamed for others mistakes and to have our dog have a bad grooming! My 2 Yorkie kids were last groomed over the summer and their hair had grown so long that I couldn't see their eyes and the hair on their legs and body were starting to tangle without bi-hourly brushings. When I saw the reviews for Quality Grooming and everyone raving about Janet, I decided it was worth a try, even though I'm pretty risk-adverse when it comes to changing up hair stylists... for both myself and my dogs. When I called, I got a recording that basically said Janet is booked 2 months out. But when she called me back, she was able to somehow magically squeeze me in for an appointment less than 2 weeks away. I was ecstatic. When I dropped off my dogs in the morning, Janet was already studying a huge book of breed-specific haircuts so that she could pinpoint exactly what I wanted, which I was definitely impressed by. But, since I'm usually so picky about the hair length and styling for my dogs, and also because my requests stray a good bit from how Yorkie's are usually groomed, I came prepared with pictures for her. Within 3 hours, I received a call from Janet that they were all ready to go. Not only did they look adorable, but more importantly, they were happy :) It's been 2.5 weeks and my pups still look fantastic. Every time they look at me with those huge cartoon-ish eyes without having to peek through their own bangs, I'm reminded of what a great job Janet did. We'll definitely be back. read more

Our dog is always so happy to see her, so I know that she's being treated very well. The quality of the service: Outstanding! While my dog has mostly white nails, she doesn't like her feet handled. So happy to have found this place. Nicole has been grooming our 1 year old doodle since she's been old enough to be groomed. She does an amazing job and makes the cutest Bowes for my girl! I mentioned that we had 13 year old Pomeranians that we've been told were very difficult to groom. A few other groomers actually told us they preferred not to groom them. Nicole offered to groom them and see how it went. She did an amazing job. She could tell they were scared but took her time with them. She just groomed one of the Pomeranians again last week and she did so much better and seemed less stressed when she got home. I wish we would have found Nicole sooner! Not only did she do a good job with the trim (she did exactly as I requested), she was very explanatory through the whole process and even trained me a little bit in the how-to, with sound advice and helpful tips for how to do it myself at home. Then she charged me $5 for the face trim. I was like really?! More than fair pricing. I had called a pet salon before going to her and they quoted me $60-75 for a bath including the face trim which I balked at. I will be happy to bring my pup here for more services! read more

If we could give these guys six stars we would! Brought our two rescue dogs here but only one had an appointment. They kindly took both of them. Check in was quick and friendly, all the dogs in the salon were relaxed. Our dogs went with the groomers without hesitation. We got them back a couple of hours later. They were hapoy, relaxed and looked amazing! Our male, Marley, was badly abused before we got him and yet he trusted the ladies absolutely. I am very unhappy with Quality's Grooming and Jamie. I brought my dog there to be trimmed up (groomed). It had been several months since her last appointment and she was matted. They said they'd need to go pretty short to get through the mats and I agreed, but wanted to keep her face and tail longer. When I picked her up, they had shaved her head to tail and she has razor scraps and cuts all over her. Not only did they traumatize my dog, they charged so much for a cut that took very little time. This groomer was wonderful for our new rescue dog. I popped in to see when the next available appointment was and due to a cancellation, I was pleased they could see her the same day. They did a wonderful job with little or no direction form me. My Schnoodle is a year old and a little skittish and she had no issues while she was here. I've brought my Lhasa apso here a lot. Mainly because Janet's previous job was handling dogs and mine was a bit of a princess and wasn't yet used to grooming. Janet did great with her. She was used to grooming now and she passed her onto someone else. They moved to a new location and were much busier. She said my pooch needed to start seeing her again as she was giving the other groomer a hard time. She went back to seeing Janet a few more times and all was fine. But this last time I picked her up, booked my next appt with her, paid (and always leave a $10 tip) and left. I could tell her mood was different. It wasn't until late that night we noticed by her armpit was a gash larger then a quarter that was bleeding from a razor. I had to put a cone on her to get her to stop licking it and put medicine on it for about a week till it started healing. I've had a shih tzu before and have tons of grooming experiences and issues, but this injury was the worst I'd seen. The worst of it all was that I can't imagine how they wouldn't have been able to tell what they did. I'm most positive my pooch yelped up a storm when it happened. They didn't tell me about it and instead asked me to book a future appt. That something I couldn't let go. So unfortunately I won't bring her here anymore. I think they just have gotten too busy now and rush through not taking care of them. A part of me thinks that leaving bad reviews is bad karma but I also would want others to inform me too So the good of it is that normally they have great customer service and they give you a small toy every time you come in. I called to get an appointment for cat grooming since my cats seem to have thicker coats than usual and I figured I should get it done. When the woman answered the phone she asked if I had ever had my cats groomed before and I answered no. So she asked what I wanted done and I tried to explain that I didn't really know what they had to offer or what my options were and during the explanation she abruptly cut me off and made a snide comment and hung up. Brought my 16 month Maltese in for full grooming on 2/13/16, first time there; recently moved and have only tried one other place in the A2 area prior. We arrived on time and our baby was ready on time and Joy did a great job on the haircut. Probably the best first timer out of 5 people that our baby's ever had. Joy had the perfect look and length for our Maltese. One thing that we didn't like was our Maltese's nails were not cut nicely, it was rough, sharp, and ragged. The staff at QG are the most unprofessional people I've ever encountered. They treat regular customers like complete crap, and are unaccommodating. Over the past year, the scissor cut they did on our dog got worse and worse, as did their attitude. When my father passed away, and we had to call and reschedule in order to attend his funeral out of town, we were told in an unsympathetic and uncaring voice that it would be least six weeks or more before they could schedule reschedule--almost as if my father's death was an inconvenience to them. They also work only at THEIR convenience. Our dog had an appointment mid afternoon. My wife and I both work, and so the dog was dropped off an hour or so before the appointment. My wife was told that the dog would be ready for pickup at 5:00pm--so when she was called at 2:45pm saying to come get the dog by 3, as they were finished for the day and "going home" she was completely taken aback--as neither she nor I were presently available. When she reminded them that they said to pickup at 5:00, the person on the phone became irate and angry. So, while at work my wife had to scramble--and luckily we found a willing neighbor who was able to get the dog. And while we found their prices to be higher than competitors, the convenient location made taking our dog there easier. We never missed a scheduled appointment and always left a generous tip. Never again will we allow ourselves to be abused by this horrendous operation. My advice, only go here if you enjoy overpaying for mediocrity and getting treated like crap. Update** The owner responded--and to respond back... There were no misunderstandings. They were well aware of the reason we had to cancel last minute. I'm not sure what part of "my husband's father passed away, and we have to leave town" that they didn't understand. They simply didn't care. Any miscommunication with regard to the pickup of our dog is again, on you--we were told the dog would be ready at 5, but you would call when she was done. To me, that means pick the dog up at 5. It isn't the customer's responsibility to come early because you want to leave early. In my opinion, the lengthy response rationalizing your position only amplifies the reason for the negative review. A simple, "I'm sorry, we messed up and will do better next time--and we apologize" would serve you better. read more

Janet is awesome! They book up far in advance so she actually scheduled an extra day in for just a week ahead (guessing it was an off day before that) to squeeze me and some other lucky owners in. Otherwise I would have had to wait about a month! Anyway, I had a last second appt come up and so brought my cat Jinx to the shop an hour early, hoping she could squeeze him in, which she did. They don't take credit cards, so make sure to bring cash or check. Jinx is feeling fabulous now that he's home and not overly dressed for the hot weather anymore. This place is GREAT! Janet and Linda are miracle workers! I have a small, older dog who gets grouchy when I try to groom him myself. I had taken him to one of the big pet stores for grooming, but he hated it. Once we were in the parking lot he would panic and I would have to carry him in, he was always shaking when I went to pick him up. My mom recommended Quality Grooming because she has a rescue dog with issues and they have always done a great job. The first time I went to pick him up from his grooming appointment he was asleep in their backroom, they had to wake him up, he was so relaxed! Now when I ask if he wants to go see Linda, he runs to the door! Grooming has changed from something he feared to something he looks forward to. I highly recommend them. read more

We love Quality Grooming! Our normally sweet and laid back Shih Tzu/Pomeranian turns into a total demon when trying to get near her with clippers, or to clean her tear stains. We have been to Joy about 5 or 6 times now and Maisie always looks great and her eyes/snout are clear of stains. Going to the groomer isn't her favorite thing, but I can tell they take great care of her when she is put on the floor and she puts her paws up on their legs for attention.
