I engaged this company three weeks ago to move my grandmother into assisted living today. They are allegedly familiar with the policies and procedures of Trinity Towers, which has specific moving hours, and assured me there would me no issue. They called me when they were supposed to arrive at 9am to report that they had a problem with a move the prior day and had to finish the job. They would be late but would be there as soon as possible. When they failed to answer my follow up calls, I started moving her things myself. I didn't hear from them again until 5:43pm. When I told him I had already spent the entire day moving all her things he said, "ok" and hung up on me. This company and its owner, Mark Morin, absolutely disgusted me. They left a 97 year old out to dry, with absolutely zero customer service. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. If Trinity Towers recommends them to you as a preferred vendor, PICK ANYONE ELSE ON THE LIST. I'm certain most of the google 1star reviews are countered by a 5star review from either a friend or social media coordinator. Also, go checkout why they have an F rating with The Better Business Bureau. Wish I had known! Most of the negative reviews I've read are pretty consistent with my complaint too!! It has been over 3 months since my move and I still do not have a resolution for the one of a kind extra large mirror/frame that was broken on the move. Beware of this company. After doing my own research after the move, I should've asked for an itemized receipt, my moving contract, and insurance information. I do not believe this company is insured as advertised according to another review. They may be insured by Uhaul, which is why I also sent a complaint to Uhaul. I choose this company because they had performed good work for me in the past for small local moves. The owner Mark is friendly over the phone however, he has made this move the most stressful/worst experience I've encountered with a moving company.    First, Mark (owner)& I discussed how he would be sending a larger truck for the move because we had quite a bit needing moved.  It was also planned that the movers would be loading the truck and then leaving the next day.  His crew did not have the correct information at the start of loading day and came unprepared to load. They showed up with a smaller truck & thought they were only prepping furniture for the day and then loading the next day. I did respond poorly to the crew when they showed up not prepared for the job. After speaking to Mark he was able to give them their correct instructions and the truck was then loaded on the day planned. The next day 12/5/20 the movers got everything unloaded at the new house only to find that my extra large mirror broke. When I asked why the broken mirror was loaded back in their truck, they said their boss told them to take it back to Corpus.  I had them leave it at my house because it sounded like they were going to throw it away. I wanted to try to repair it as it was a one of a kind piece. There was also a ceramic 3ft Christmas tree I found broken a week later, but I did not report because I was able to fix it on my own. Whoever from the crew broke it hid it behind large artwork - sneaky. Mark said if I was able to repair the mirror send him the receipt. However, the 3 different frame shops I went to in Houston said the frame was not repairable because the material it was made out of.  I let Mark know it was not repairable and he said he would pick it up to see if he could find someone to repair the mirror, which I appreciated greatly until he never followed through. It has been over 3 months from the date of the move. Mark has given me many excuses on why he still has not picked up the broken mirror to see if he can have it fixed.  I call & text frequently and my calls are not returned in a timely manner.  He did plan to pick the mirror up February 28th, but here we are 12 days later and he has not. It's like he told me what I wanted to hear over the phone and then just did nothing. I emailed him a formal complaint 3/4/21 and had received no response. When asked for insurance company's information, it has not been provided. The FMCSA will not take complaints because it is considered a state level issue, but they did directed me to file with the TX DMV. So I've submitted a complaint to the DMV, The BBB, Uhaul, and all forms of popular social media. There has been plenty of opportunity to resolve over the past 3 months. I will no longer accept any excuses on why we cannot come to a resolution.  I've noticed Mark responds to many google complaints, which is surprising because he doesn't respond to phone calls/emails in a timely manner. Because of this, I'd like to add - any response to this complaint that is not a resolution is only another excuse. I'm done with excuses. read more

Amazing company. I needed a last minute move after a trash moving company dropped the ball and went incommunicado. I got a call the very next morning from Above All the Rest informing me that'd they would be out to my place in 20 mins! The guys they sent worked fast, were cognizant of my time although it took longer than I'd estimated, had great attitudes, and they ensured that the job got done and it was done right. They're also very affordable to boot, I had a previous quote for 3 guys and 2hrs for more than $500, Above All the Rest sent me 3 guys for nearly a 4hr job at under $500. Three guys loaded a 6x16 in 50 minutes. They were expert in packing high and tight. It's amazing how much they put into the trailer. I was sure that it wouldn't all fit. I knocked off a star because the cost was $41 more than the bid. But they did such a fine job with packing and wrapping TV's and such that I tipped them 10% anyway. I recently quoted some movers when I was getting ready to move into my new house. Above all the rest had the best price. They had a moving special when I booked. I was moving out of a one bedroom apartment into a 3 bedroom house. The guys got it done in 2 hours!! The guys were very polite and personable. Mark kept me in the loop if they were running late or anything. I appreciated that as I was having other appliances installed at the house and a plumber was stopping by. Overall, I would use this company again if I needed a move and would recommend them to anyone. read more

I had an encounter with the owner about one of the drivers hitting my car and driving away. I can see why if you report damages to you're property this is the reason. The driver was very erratic and switched lanes without a blinker. The owner was immediately argumentative and defensive saying "this happens all the time and it's not us". The driver slowed down enough to give me the finger and yell curse words. I was so shocked at the time I couldn't get a picture but was able to get the phone number and company name. I understand since I don't have evidence of the incident and the driver did not stop. That I will not see a resolution to this. However the owner needs to take responsibility. read more

It seems that the issues other had, I had as well. I suggest that anyone who has complaints with this company, not only write a bad review here but also file a complaint with FMCSA. I did just this and show they haven't had one written on them in the last four years! I was there first and it is probably because most consumers aren't aware of what you can do against a shady company like this. I was given a quote of what it wouldn't exceed. Was charged $300 more than the quote, despite them being extremely late and non-communicative. Not to mention I was never given any of the documents they are legally supposed to provide you with. Bryan, Luis and Slick moved my 90 year old grandma from a big 2 bedroom, drove to Houston with her following behind and helped set up a 1 bedroom in a retirement community. Small doors to deal with in both places, they were careful and strategic bringing in the furniture and boxes. They set up everything correctly and didn't complain when we asked to move things a second time. They were kind and patient. I couldn't have asked for a better group to move my grandma 4 hours away to Houston. I definitely recommend them. read more

The damage cost $390 and they promised me a refund. 6 months later I'm still waiting to get my refund from a tv they damaged. The owner Mark Morin is not a man of his word. Let me begin by saying that I would NOT ever recommend this business to friends or enemies. Mostly because I feel like I got ripped off and I felt like care was not taken with any of our personal items and the movers were more focused on looking through all of our things rather the moving them. Where to start... My husband called to get a moving quote for a 2 bedroom apartment using 2 movers. He was quoted $150. The day of our move the movers showed up 3.5 hours late with 3 people. We specifically requested 2 movers because both myself and my husband were perfectly capable of moving things as well. The only thing the movers had to do was move the 2 beds, 2 dressers, 1 kitchen table 1 couch, 1 chair and ottoman and 1 office desk. We had cleaned out all of our personal items including dresser drawers etc. The movers took 3 hours to move us from one apartment into another unit within the same complex!!! What do I think took so long? 1. The movers took over five seated breaks inside of their truck 2. They were going through all of our sports memorabilia reminiscing about their favorite players etc. 3. They took multiple personal phone calls while on the clock. (Side note- they do not use professional language. Which can be embarrassing if you have neighbors) 4. They stopped to make jokes about how the other movers were so lazy (yes, this is true, one mover came in our house and told us to look out the window and see how lazy his coworkers were) we didn't really find this joke funny since we were paying by the hour We called Mark to let him know that his employees were not being professional. He assured us that he would be giving us a discount since he sent an extra person that we did not request and since they were not working consistently while on the clock. He told us that he would be dropping off a reimbursement of $50. That never happened. A few weeks later we called back and he said he sending a gift card for $50. That never happened. and 6 weeks later when we contacted him again he responded with a nasty text saying that if we write a bad review about him he's going to have a lawyer come after us. ...oh, and they left our house with the screws to our furniture so we could not assemble it until they returned it at their convenience Needless to say, I do not recommend this company read more

Currently very disappointed in this moving company. Will update review once things are resolved. Was recommended by a friend who used them for a move and were very satisfied, however, I have a different experience. I am very disappointed. When I first called, I was told that it would be $85/hr for a three man crew and a fee for the truck, insurance, and fuel. I tried to verify to ensure that movers were confirmed for the date I needed them and got the run around. This was after reaching out a month prior to prevent any miscommunication. Eventually I was able to get a hold of Mark and confirmed a time the day prior to the move. Movers that showed up were very friendly. Part way into the move another truck and mover showed up addition to what I had requested and confirmed for. I was not informed that I would be charged for this mover. I asked why there was another mover and truck and was told that they "looked up the house and it seemed like they may need more space than the U-Haul they had". I had already talked to Mark prior to the movers coming that the house is big, however, I had everything packed and just needed help moving the furniture which was my sectional, king size bed set, dining table, washer, dryer and a few other items. The additional truck and mover was not necessary. My move did not fill up the original truck. Movers were done within a few hours, I was charged $500 and was told that there would be a 4% fee to use my credit card. Totaling the cost to $520. I was not told there would be a fee when I contacted Mark to ask what forms of payment he would take. If that were the case I would have paid in case. Upon leaving the movers leaving the new home I gave each a very generous tip for their services. I contacted Mark via text to ask him for the break down of the costs because they did not add up to what I was expecting to pay for the move. This moving company does not have the customer sign off on the move like I am use to with movers in the past. I move about once every year, so I have dealt with many movers. I went back to the old home to do a walk through and noticed scratches on the wood flooring from where the washer and dryer was wrapped up. Mark contacted me to see how the move went after I asked him for the break down of the costs and I addressed the scratches on the wood flooring and he asked for pictures. He never addressed my original request for the break down of the costs of the move. I send him the pictures and heard no response from him. Andrew, one of the movers, contacted me and asked me where the scratches were located and that he would get back with me after talking to the rest of the crew that was there. I waited a few hours and heard nothing back so I contacted Mark again asking if he received the pictures I sent. He asked if anyone contacted me and I told him Andrew contacted me but did not hear anything back after he said he would check with the other crew members. Shortly after Andrew gave me a call and said he would stop by the house the following day to see if he was able to fix the scratches on the flooring. The following day, Andrew showed up at the house and tried to fix the scratches on the wood flooring and was unable to. He said he would go to Home Depot and see what recommendations they had and he would let his boss, Mark, know that he was unable to fix the scratches on the wood flooring. Few hours alter I reached out to Andrew to ask if he had any luck finding a solution at Home Depot and he said No and that he talked to Mark and he should be getting back with me on a solution. I thanked him and following day still have not heard back from Mark about a solution. I have contacted my bank to start a dispute on the transaction of $520 until I receive a solution from Above All The Rest Moving. *Update, it has been over a week and Mark has still not returned any of my phone calls or text messages, not only did he over charge me but he scratched up the floors in the home I was moving out of. Excellent moving company! The only one we will ever use for anything or any home we need moved. We've used them 3 times, once for our current home and twice for our of state moves for my mother in law. They were there at the time they said they would be. The move was efficient and done very well, their time was taken to package up our items so that nothing was broken during the move. Every item was packaged well and placed inside the moving truck neatly and so things wouldn't move in transport. Also were able to trailer up a vehicle for my mother in law all the way to Missouri which was a huge deal! No item has ever been broken, damaged or misplaced during the 3 times we've used them. read more

Moving from Texas to Virginia is stressful enough.. however, my day started off as a classic, "movers worse nightmare." Above All the Rest showed up, looked around my apartment and informed me that my truck was too small. WHAT. I was in luck though; Mark went out of his way to meet me at U-Haul to make sure that they assigned me a new truck immediately and offered to come over the next day at 9:00am to get me loaded up. Mark's crew was awesome! Not only were they professional, but they were also very respectful and organized; they handled my personal belongings with care and made sure that nothing would get damaged. Do not use this company. There are many movers in Corpus Christi. The owner Mark Morin and his workers are dishonest. I paid them a total of $1112 for the move. I honestly believe that he overcharged me and if I had gone with a different company I would have paid half that amount. The workers were real slow. I would say we went with this company based on the reviews however our experienced turned into being dissatisfied. For one before the move I had inventoried all rooms and advised how many rooms we had. In turn a quote was provided and stated it would need exceed the amount of the quote which they did and we were charged more. Then the company shows up with a smaller Uhaul truck, had I know they were using a U-haul truck I could have told them we would need a big truck. The move took 2 days vs 1. When they moved us into our new home, after they left we noticed some things damaged including our front door trim to our new home. We reached out several times to the owner Mark who still has yet to contact us. In our contract he had advised insurance was included as I had paid for it however it doesn't seem that way since he now is he is no longer returning our calls. I even sent pics of the damage which he began to question us. When anyone purchases a new home and damaged is caused by someone else especially a moving company you would expect nothing but the best service in repairing it or taking care of it. Again I had purchased the insurance but now we can't get a hold of Mark. I do know what company I will NOT use again and I will ensure others I will not either!!!! read more

They still owe us a $220 deposit fee for blankets that were used during the move and also a replacement/refund for a broken lamp. Phone calls are not returned, neither are emails. They also did not respond to the BBB. My suggestion, look elsewhere and check the BBB. They have several filed complaints, all with similar issues. read more

Our move took two days including packing. The first two gentlemen who came to our home were fantastic. They were very professional and assured me that my job was only to relax while they took care of the work. Unfortunately, we had a second crew on the second day. They were friendly, but did not seem motivated to complete the job quickly. Of course, this is concerning because we were paying by the hour. I went to the new house and waited for them to arrive. When my husband went to the old house, they were taking a break. I understand that they may need to do this from time to time, but I suspect that they were taking long breaks because I was not there. Finally, they brought our items to the new house. They accidentally scratched up our refrigerator and did not offer any discount or form of rectification for the situation. They also brought our trampoline but did not set it up. We never found screws belonging to some of our furniture either. In short, I would not recommend this company. They stole my Louis Vuitton belt that was 700 dollars, and my Xbox plus my HMDI cords, and mark the owner said he would refund me and gave me the runaround for over a week, and now won't answer my calls or text messages. Lloyd and Henry were great! We had no damages, the service was awesome and they were extremely careful with the fragile items. I also have a sleep number and Lloyd knows how to deflate and inflate it. If I went with Sleep Number they would have charged me $169 just to deflate it. So I saved a lot with these guys. I would not recommend nor will be using Above All The Rest again for two reasons: First, they did not charge me the price I was quoted. I was quoted $55 an hour for a two-man crew (no mention of a minimum). I was charged $65 an hour for a three-man crew which I did not request. Also, they said they had a 2 hour minimum (the move took just under an hour). This demonstrated an intention to mislead. This is a dishonest business. Second, they were careless with fragile items. I had several boxes clearly marked "fragile." Not only were these boxes not treated as fragile items ought, but they even placed heavier boxes on top of the boxes marked "fragile!" This demonstrated carelessness. Only by the grace of God were things not broken, however, if they continue treating fragile items that way you can be sure your fragile items will be.Given that I was charged for 2 hours and they completed the move in under an hour, there was no reason why these boxes could not have been moved individually. Therefore, I would not recommend Above All The Rest Moving because of their intention to mislead and careless work. read more

I made a reservation via U-Haul for 3 U-Boxes to be delivered, loaded and shipped. Above All The Rest Movers was the u-haul service contractor in Corpus Christi. I had to call and confirm my reservation with them and when I spoke to them they informed me that they did know when or where my u-boxes would be and I needed to call the u-haul service center. so I did and informed the service center of the huge inconvenience it was for me to do their job. My thoughts were if you spend $3,000.00 to move with a professional and reputable company I expect stellar customer service from all parties involved including u-haul dealers-representatives. First of all I was offered alternative shipping and moving services for a discounted price because u-haul was overcharging me and they just so happened to going to Nevada. Second I was told i would be provided 12 moving blankets per u-box (my boxes had none) but Mark gave me 22 and told me to call the u-haul service center to report the discrepancy. Third I made myself very clear what needed to packed first and what needed to packed last that was an epic fail. Watching them load my u-box was a total nightmare and my specific instructions were ignored and quite frankly pissed me off. I want to keep on open mind and say it was a one time issue but from my observation I would say otherwise. Not a good choice if you are moving and if you want your items to be packed with dignity, respect and care call " Last Minute Movers". read more

We asked for a contract days before he headed to site, instead he sends on the day of the move an estimate that states a partial amount he was expecting to receive. So we created a standard moving contract that was very simple, clear and concise about what we were hiring Mark to do and he refused to sign it. Mark Morin and his crew stole many tools, garage items, and family videos and pictures that can not be replaced. When my items arrived 6 days later, after multiple phone calls and texts, there were many broken and damaged items. My heart breaks every day for those lost items that I will never be able to replace. Mark Morin agreed to send me a check for $200 that would never be enough to replace my kids videos and pictures.
