This was one…read moreof the most unprofessional interactions I have experienced with a contractor during a real estate transaction. The owner, Aaron, had previously shown up at my seller's property without a scheduled appointment and was in their backyard without the sellers even knowing he was there. I met Aaron at the property this morning for a reinspection involving the sewer line, gas line, and water line. I was present for the entire interaction and personally witnessed his behavior and comments. Aaron was rude and confrontational with both the sellers and me. He questioned how they could have been living in the home with a gas leak and made comments suggesting that we were not properly disclosing issues. This was after another plumbing company had been at the property the previous day and cleared the sewer line. Rather than simply performing the reinspection professionally and reporting his findings, he repeatedly told me we were wasting his time and that it was ridiculous that he was even there. His son, who was also present, was rude and confrontational as well. What I found most unacceptable was that I asked Aaron FOUR separate times to leave the property. Instead of respecting that request and leaving, he continued standing there arguing and debating with me. He eventually attempted to apologize, but then became upset when I did not immediately accept the apology and questioned why I wouldn't accept it. He proceeded to tell me that he had plenty of work, that it didn't matter what I said, and even made comments about not liking what he does anyway. As a Realtor, I regularly work with inspectors, plumbers, electricians, contractors, and other professionals. I understand that inspections can uncover problems and that professionals may disagree about findings. That is not the issue here. The issue was the manner in which the homeowners and I were treated. A professional should be able to inspect a property, document their findings, and communicate those findings without insulting or accusing the homeowners or their Realtor. And when someone is asked to leave private property--especially FOUR times--they should leave. I personally witnessed this entire interaction, and based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to my clients or other real estate professionals.

They said no but recommended Pratt Plumbing. My wife called and was told about what it might cost. She asked them if they could do it that day. They showed up and looked it over and asked if she wanted it done. Of course we did, and it turned out that he even brought the right size with him just in case. He was fast and very professional. As a proud Texan who has served and worn my uniform proudly, I value honesty and fairness above all else. When I booked their services, I had no idea that they were over an hour away. When we did a google search for Hereford this company showed up as if they were local. We had a overpowering sewer stench in the building only that added to our sense of urgency. In my desperation to take care of my employees, I unknowingly booked Scottco while my wife had already booked another company. As a small company with only two employees, the $420 trip charge was quite devastating for us. I believe in compensating others for their time and would never want to take advantage of anyone. I understand that mistakes happen, and I am willing to pay a fair amount for the services rendered. However, I was taken aback when I was told that the original charge was almost $600 as if I needed to be happy with the current. I believe in dealing with companies that operate with integrity and put their heart into their operations. I own up to my mistake and am willing to pay what is fair. I always strive to take care of my fellow man and would never want to feel like I'm taking advantage of someone's error. I believe in fair and honest dealings.
