Short version: Communication with the owner was dishonest, unprofessional, and he tried to upsell my cousin instead of honoring the original quoted price. Her detailed review is on here, and the owner responded to her review with false information. Thankfully she has documentation of their conversations. Long version: My cousin booked a service about a month before the celebration. When she reached out the week of the event to confirm everything as instructed by the owner to do so, she was then told that the vehicle was out for repair and no guarantees it would be fixed on time. With only days to spare it could be difficult to find another service. The owner offered a different vehicle that was about double the price of the one my cousin had originally reserved instead of honoring the original quoted price. The morning of the event my cousin texted the owner for an update to see if the vehicle was repaired and received no response. We waited a few hours before I made a reservation with a different limo company that I had found the day before as a backup, and they turned out to be fantastic. My cousin updated the owner of Above The Rest Transportation that we found someone that could accomodate us and we received the response shown in the photo. Instead of offering a few hours of free service, the price should have been honored with the alternate vehicle that was still available on the day of the event. I booked a bus with Dennis three months before the date. He confirmed the date, took a $100 dollar deposit via my credit card, and off I went to finish plans for the rest of the wedding. Fast forward to the big day! The bride and myself took separate transportation to the venue. We didn't use the bus, we had to be kept separate, and arrive super early. The guests began to arrive in a trickle near the beginning of the wedding. I thought that strange since the bus should have arrived awhile ago, picking up the majority of the people in only two trips. I found out the next day that the bus never made the rounds. My whole wedding party including an 80+ year old grandmother had to take ubers/lyfts, and my uncles van where people could pile into. One brave cousin stayed at the hotel up until the point that the wedding was beginning and furiously went to the front desk demanding to know where the bus was. The desk attendant and her searched the parking lot together and found a bus parked in the back of the lot. When approaching the bus, the bus driver was ASLEEP in the seat. ** That is correct, the one hour he had to be awake to drive people to the venue, he had slept through. ** She banged on the door and woke him up. He began to argue with her, and she demanded he open the door. He let her on, and she directed him to go to the other hotel to see if there were stragglers. Arriving at the other hotel there were a few more people waiting. They traveled to the venue, driving PAST the entrance. Everyone yelled at him to stop. He decided to BACKUP into traffic almost hitting the car behind him. Everyone screamed at him to stop and to just let them off. My few 5 guests on the bus arrived just in time for the start of my wedding by trekking through forest, and a yard, to make it onto the venue grounds. Did I mention the venue is only 10 minutes from the hotels? Right now you're probably thinking, well this is absolutely horrible and embarrassing. Well we're not done yet! We had the bus rental until 11pm to take guests back to the hotel. The wedding ended at 10pm. The bride and I got on closer to 11pm. The driver told us his shift had been over at 10pm. I find out later he thought his shift ended at 10, so all the guest who left at 10pm had to take ubers and lyfts back to the hotels. I argued with him that we had paid until 11pm. He said he had to call his boss. My bride literally in her wedding dress, and me in my tux, had to argue with the driver on our big day. I paid him $100 to take us back to our hotel. Fast forward to the next week when I'm explaining this to the owner Dennis. Oh how hurt he was! This is not how he runs his business and is ashamed! The memories of this part of my wedding were already ruined, so the most he could offer me was my money back and a free rental anytime in the future (for your honeymoon he suggested) I passed on the free rental, I would rather make my flight for my honeymoon and not find the driver falling asleep at the wheel again. But I will take the refund. He agrees. Fast forward two months, back and forth texts, partial refunds on my credit card. Eventually there's $250 bucks left to refund. My text exchange with Dennis remains professional, even after I realize he is a scam artist. The text messages degrade quickly on his end to threats. I just want my $250 dollars back. "OH I GUESS I DON'T EVEN GET GAS MONEY" ........Yes, Dennis was concerned that I did not pay for $250 of gas money for this dumpster fire of service that was a 10 minute ride from the hotel to the venue, after making 5 of my guests walk through a forest, risk there lives, and miss the appetizers and drinks before the ceremony. We got the embarrassment of jokes via social media posting videos of their 'adventure on the bus from hell' Dennis still says he'll refund the last $250, and that he'll get it to me. It's been 3 months now. I don't think I'll ever see that money or memories returned to me. read more

Got a Limo for a bachelorette Sept 10th 2022 limo showed up looked decent on the outside as soon as the door opened you were hit with a musty smell as if the Limo hasn't been used in forever or got wet and never dried properly it was awful the smell we were just going to deal with it until once we were all loaded up 10 of us all squeezed in and we started to drive there was a terrible noise that was coming from the back of the limo every time the driver accelerated we made it to the corner of the road and we had to stop driver couldn't figure it out needless to say we had to turn around and go back home as we couldn't risk taking a limo that was going to break down. Was not what we planned on so we all had to drive our self for the night as we know didn't have any transportation very disappointed. I was looking for a transportation service for a birthday celebration/night out in Boston. I was recommended to call Above All The Rest by 2 other limo companies that weren't available. I made the reservations about a month prior to the day for a limo and gave my card information for a deposit. I was told to reach out the week of the event to confirm. I reached out to Dennis 4 days before the event and was told the transmission went on the limo and he is trying to get it fixed. Now, if I didn't reach out to confirm, when would he of informed me there was an issue with the limo. He then sent me a message later that afternoon that his limo is on a lift, no guarantees it would be ready and that he had a Mercedes Sprinter limo available at double the price I was supposed to pay for the limo. When I called him, I asked if he could honor the price, but instead he said he was trying to find me a limo and rushed me off the phone. Come the morning of the event, I reached out to get an update, and didn't hear from him. Fortunately, my cousin found another transportation limo service that was able to accommodate us and save the night. When I sent Dennis a message stating I found another transportation service and won't be needing his services, he told me he was sorry and would send me a coupon for a couple of free hours on my next one. I can't even explain how accommodating they were. The picked us up at 3:30 Am, They were on time. The trip took no time at all. They had champagne waiting for us, We felt so special. Then to top it off, after getting dropped off at the airport. I realized that I left my phone in the limo. Mind you it is still very early. I had hired this business through a third party reservation site. It took me multiple tries to confirm that I was all set. I asked a woman I spoke to referred me to a picture of the party bus I was renting on Facebook. It was a basic model but presentable. The day of my daughter's prom, the bus that showed up was unwashed and dusty, had an old limo companies logo covered with a black window that didn't match rest of bus and a rusting back bumper. Inside, seats were ripped. It was too late to cancel or they wouldn't have a ride. I called the owner immediately to complain- he called back the next morning and admitted he had sent the oldest bus in the fleet. He had overcharged us a half hour and I had tipped when it was supposedly included in quote. I wish "no stars" were an option, 1 is too many ... we were recommended to this company from our regular transportation service since they were midst of vehicle maintenance & unfortunately couldn't provide the airport transportation for the dates we needed. Pickup went well, the driver was great ... but the owner, Dennis was ok to deal with in the beginning but when I questioned an additional charge on my Credit Care after we were home, his mannerisms changed totally! The arrogance he portraited were far from acceptable! I'm in customer service as well & I would've been fired on the spot if I ever talked to a customer like that ... as I would expect to be, it was very disappointing. The charge has been disputed & the credit card cancelled of course, but ended our family vacation experience on a sour note - I would NOT recommend using this company, but especially NOT giving him your credit card information and of course, get the quote in writing with details! We were quoted as a round-trip airport service & were not only charged for both ways, for some reason was even higher on the return drive ... again, the driver was great but be leery of dealing with this company ... not worth dealing with after a vacation or a special occasion when things are charged incorrectly! read more

We recently used them for transportation to a relative's wedding. Not only were they late, which was the highlight of the day, we missed the wedding ceremony. And when we complained, rightly so, to the driver, he very unprofessionally yelled at us. He said he didn't have enough time to pick everyone up and get to the wedding in the time allotted. We booked the bus so we would have more than enough time to get there and even sretch our legs a bit before the ceremony. He then proceeded to say he hadn't received payment which anybody with half a brain knows payment is held by credit card. He was talking about his tip(which he didn't get). He threatened to strand us out in Groton, blamed his GPS and us. everybody was ready on time and waiting for him. He arrived at his first destination 20 minutes late, then proceeded to make a 20 min ride into an hour and did it again for his third pick up. We arrived in Groton to see the new bride and groom get into their limo and leave the church. It was not only embarassing for us. but heartbreaking as well. We cannot get it back.
