Crooked Cat Golf Course -- Orange County National…read more There's something pretty special about getting to play your home course with good friends -- especially when you practically have the entire course to yourselves. ‍ I had the ultimate pleasure of playing Crooked Cat Golf Course at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge with three friends Monday afternoon. We had a 4:30 PM tee time, and the course was practically empty. Other than a few singles who passed us, it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. That gave us the luxury of taking our time on the front nine, enjoying the course, talking plenty of trash, and just having a great afternoon together. Then around 6:30, with the sun hiding behind the clouds, we realized we needed to pick up the pace if we wanted to finish before 8. So the leisurely front nine turned into a slightly more hurried back nine -- and oddly enough, having to rush actually made me play better. I went into the round with one goal: break 90. Mission accomplished. ‍ I'll never complain about walking off the course with a score in the 80s. The Course I'm genuinely impressed with the overall layout of Crooked Cat. The facility is beautiful, exceptionally well kept, and offers a great variety of tees -- Championship Black, OCN Orange, Green, Green/White combo, White and Tan -- making it possible to set the course up for a wide range of golfers. And don't let the wide fairways fool you: this isn't an easy course. The fairways are long and generally give you plenty of room to work with, while the greens are huge but certainly aren't automatic. There's plenty of opportunity to work on your irons, approach shots and short game, especially when you start figuring out where you want to leave yourself around those large putting surfaces. That variety is one of the things I really enjoy about Crooked Cat. The four of us were able to play to our own skill levels, challenge ourselves, and still have an absolute blast together. And honestly, I'm guilty of taking this place for granted. Orange County National is so close to my house that I could practically walk to the first tee, and because I work for Disney and get opportunities to play here fairly regularly, it's easy to forget just how lucky I am to have a facility like this practically in my backyard. But after this round, I'm reminded that I need to make a point of playing here more often. And at around $50 for an afternoon summer round, it's an incredible value. The course was beautiful. The greens challenged us. The company was great. The pace picked up when we needed it to. And somehow, rushing through the back nine helped me put together one of my better rounds. So let's chip it up, stick it close, and drain a putt. ‍ Yelp Elite Golfer Rating: 4.5/5 Crooked Cat gets the score it deserves. A beautiful, challenging, well-maintained course with multiple tee options, huge greens, plenty of room to work on your game, and an absolutely fantastic afternoon experience. Seven days after she paid me the hundred dollars she is trying to reverse the payment with PayPal and get her money back. This lady is a real scum. I do not recommend working with her Or booking her. She is not honest in what she does and she is trying to get over on little people so she can cash out on big fish.

I tried to use the gift cards at my Jupiter studio and that is when I found out they must have been purchased for another location. In order to have the gift cards transferred I needed to get in touch with Clermont and Alexa to first confirm and then have the $300 transferred. I called the Clermont studio and also sent an email. Alexa called me back and I explained the situation. She said she would get back to me, but never did. In the meantime, my mother in law reached out to try and resolve the issue. Alexa was slow to respond, and was not very helpful. She gave my mother in the law the run around for a few days, told her she couldn't refund, couldn't transfer, and of course made her feel like a stupid person for her mistake. My mother in law contacted the corporate office twice with no response. Finally After threats of filing a claim with the bank, and attempting to transfer, Alexa said it would be easier to just refund the money, which she claimed she couldn't do initially. Now thanks to Amy at the Jupiter studio, I will be back to Hammer and Stain and I will continue to do projects.
