Went to emergency with abdominal discomfort. I knew something was wrong and needed to know what it was. They did a CAT scan on me and said everything looked normal. No other tests were done or recommended. The bill for the scan was $16,000. BEWARE, they can charge you whatever they like. Almost a year later I went for a colonoscopy that showed I had stage 2 rectal cancer. If they had done a colonoscopy they would have found the issue then and there. My 82 year old dad suffered what appeared to be a stroke. They have him marked as a fall risk, but left him with his slippery socks; I had to ask for hospital socks. My request was met with a poor attitude from a nurse. Three hours later and we have not gotten the results, in addition, they never asked if he was hungry or thirsty, I had to go hunt a nurse down to get him water, again met with indifference and a snotty attitude. Now it's too late for him to choose what he wants to eat, and he has not ate since 7:00 a.m. The time now is 5:10 p.m. Your calling is to help people when you're on duty. Do your job! read more

Well ... seeing that I'm a nurse I feel like I have no choice but to speak up. My father had a stroke 2 years ago. He cannot read, write nor speak clearly. He is not able to verbalize his needs as they come out opposite of what he means. My father cannot make legal decisions due to i his inability to understand certain situations, along with being a HUGE fall risk! My mother took him to the ER at west valley for abdominal pain. They took care of him and we have no complaints for his medical care while therein the ER. The decision was made to keep him . Due to the unusual circumstances my mother asked to stay with him. ( she is his fiduciary for all things) . She's the only one who can even understand him. Due to covid only certain circumstances allowed for family to stay. Obviously this was upsetting to her and my father. She spoke with I'm assuming the House Supervisor ( and was very upset and at this point angry cause they wouldn't let her stay) whom instead of having compassion just to read the policy to my mother as well as tell her not to raise her voice to him. I've been doing this job for 22 years and I've never seen my mother as sad and upset as she was as well as my father. This hospital has no compassion for any of their patients and as far as I'm concerned absolutely could've handled this in a different way. They wanted to put my father in a private room with no sitter , because they warranted he did not need one. This man who cannot speak , read or write, does not know how to use the call light and it is a fall risk ) why would you put someone like that alone in a room where they cannot communicate even the most basic needs. This hospital has completely failed my family. Will never come here again and I will make sure people know how they treated my family I don't care if it's Covid or not my mom needed to stay with my dad to help him and also for the safety and his overall well-being ! This was one of those " special circumstances!) To get treated like that is unacceptable ! . We chose not to have my father stay because we knew that they would not be able to keep him safe in this facility. As you can see in the picture I posted above they do make an exception for certain special circumstances for someone that is disabled I do not know how much more disabled they wanted my father to be in order to allow this to happen ? Worst hospital to go to. Nurses don't know how to put in IVs. Surgeon didn't do a good job at all on surgery for a relative. Patient is still going through pain after 5 comebacks and it's not been 5 months after surgery. Originally Had to just remove gallstones, after all it was a horrible surgery that she got pancreatitis and had to remove gallbladder. Worst place to go. ER shattered tibial plafond on 3/9/2024. Break not showing on X-ray so ct was ordered. Young kid moving me to board to get to ct and they jammed the board into my foot on injury side and was moving it outwards as I scream in agony. Then I'm being rolled onto my side and almost fell off the bed. surgery next day went fine. The pain was excruciating and they would not give me enough pain meds they said they would only give me what dr orders said. For 2 days I cried like a baby and nobody cared in fact most uncaring atmosphere I've ever experienced at a time when I needed it. Monday night nurse "Floyd" wouldn't respond as it was time for pain meds and we called 3 times over a period of an hour and kept hearing he's coming he's with patients. Finally my daughter went out to the nurses station and Floyd was sleeping! They made me suffer while they slept!!! Release time and the assistant said she couldnt find a wheelchair: 30 minutes later she shows up with one. They sent hubby down to get car and pointed my daughter towards the exit. The receptionist told the nurse NO you must assist her into the car. The nurse under her breath said "I should have sent you guys out the back way." Release papers did not provide any last dosage for meds as this info was all left blank. Called to get the info and was on hold for 20 min before calling back to finally get the head nurse to provide info.This place is a joke and the quality of care is horrific. Thank God my children were there to help facilitate care, discusting!!! Please don't take your loved ones to Abrazzo West! read more

This place does not care about the patient at all. I would give this place negative stars if I could. I was brought here after being in a car accident. I had different doctors telling me different things regarding my test results. Some said I don't need a neck brace even though results shows possible C2 fracture and me complaining constantly of pain in my neck and lower abdomen area. The doctors decided to take me off the pain medicine that was helping me control the pain. Not take it away. Just get the edge off. Also, being constantly mistreated by majority of nursing staff. The only good employee here was my physical therapist. Wish I remembered her name but she actually took the time to listen to me and talk to me and understand my pain and frustration both physically and mentally. As I write this, I'm currently looking at transferring to a different hospital to get treated. I would rather suffer in pain and not be seen then to come here because truly what it felt like. Seems like they don't care about their patients at all. Well, except for the one physical therapist who treated me. I think her name was Sally but not for certain. I wish I was better at remembering names. My doctors tried to discharge me before physical therapy came to see me. If it wasn't for therapy seeing me and realizing I need to stay. I would be at home in worse pain. Maybe better yet, an actual hospital who would properly treat me. I wake up in the middle of the night almost screaming in pain and I'm barely given meds. Doctors come in and I can barely think because of the pain and talk to me like I'm almost faking the pain and even told me "hey I know your in pain, I want to try something but it's not a pain medicine " if it is not a pain medicine. Why would you give it to me for pain? That's like giving me cold medicine for a broken arm. This place is horrible. They are still trying to discharge me despite pain not being under control and I also have no one at home to help take care of me. This place really does not care about the patient at all. read more

I was transported to this hospital by ambulance from the Buckeye emergency clinic. This hospital is confusing, when you have someone in need of pints of blood to normalize their body function and you take hours to do anything it's astounding and amazing I did not die while waiting for them to handle my case. I had upper and lower GI scopes only to find nothing. I had to tell my nurse how to correctly use a blood pressure cuff and I ended up getting 4 pints of blood before being discharged and told to go to my primary doctor, with no explanation of why I lost so much blood. I am in awe how the new medical regime works what an insult to those who became doctors to actually help and cure people instead of only caring about a paycheck. My advise to those that want answers and to get better Do Not Use or Go To This Hospital. I used to work terminal care for people who wanted to pass with dignity at home and I did VA nursing as well I would not send my dog to this hospital. Be safe and do your research before picking a hospital to go to. read more

Visited the emergency room of Abrazo West in Glendale today with a hip injury. I have nothing but the highest praise for every staff member. From the admitting room employee who was so welcoming and gracious, to the kind and knowledgeable PA and nurses, the friendly X-ray tech, the wonderful man who came out to my car with a wheelchair because I couldn't walk in, and then parked my car for me, and the security officer who brought my keys back to me, I have never been treated with such kindness by any hospital or medical facility. Congratulations to whomever is in charge of staff training and of course to all of the wonderful people who work there. We are very fortunate to have this facility here. read more

Staff in the ER were great, but everything beyond that point has been awful. God help any patient who doesn't have family to change and feed them. The minimum wait for a change has been 45 minutes. Meanwhile my husband's skin is raw from laying in urine and feces. I stay all day and change and clean him now, but am 75 and it is physically challenging. I have asked multiple times to speak to the doctor about his status and medications with no response after 24 hours. He does rounds before visiting hours start so good luck trapping him to get any answers. My husband has Alzheimer's and even without that is too ill to advocate for himself. What happened to the days when patients didn't have to lay in their own waste and doctors cared enough to communicate with a patient's loved ones? read more

I went into labor after my water broke at 32 weeks. I was told that I would be hospitalized for at least 2-4 weeks while they gave me antibiotics. I had been on a progesterone regimen and was in the process of starting a new medication. None of these were continued. They have old antiquated baby heart rate monitors, meaning they still have straps and not a wide band that holds both in place. Because of the old style of straps they would not stay in place and made my baby hard to pick up on the monitor. I was presented with the only option being an emergency C-section and was given about 20 mins to decide if I wanted to labor bc they assumed my baby wasn't tolerating labor. After repeated pelvic exams (all of which are proven to be not necessary or useful to gauge how long you'll labor or if your baby is tolerating it) which were more painful than the contractions I agreed. I would say no less than 20 mins later I was under the knife for the 1st time after having 3 kids vaginally (one was also a 31'week preemie). I gave 3 stars only bc I feel like if their equipment was better I wouldn't have had to have an emergency C-section. If they had started magnesium right away I would have been able to hold on to the baby longer. They also don't have a NICU that can deal with babies who need more than just oxygen, they transferred my baby to a hospital 20 mins away with no thought or consideration to use Banner who had an open Nicu that could accommodate a baby on cpap. My daughter only needed it for 1 day, but we spent the next 25 days going back and forth to the hospital sometimes 2 times a day to deliver breast milk and to be close to my baby bc I was developing ppd. I think they shouldn't be concerned with keeping you in network if the distance would create a hardship. I was driving less than 2 weeks after giving birth bc my husband had to return to work and I was a basket case bc I could not see my baby. 3/10 I would not recommend giving birth here. The staff was excellent at both west and arrowhead but I wish I was given more options before they decided to add another 5k onto my baby's hospital bill bc the distance was over 10 miles. The Nicu staff at arrowhead deserves kudos and many thanks, my baby still has some residual issues regarding feeding but she seems to be doing well despite our separation. read more

the staff is incredible but the hospital isn't I came by ambulance from work due to heart problems Dr advised me to be admitted so the cardiologist could speak to me tomorrow. I was unaware that my entire stay would be spent in the hallway of the emergency room. Evidently, they have no rooms. I was told by a nurse that as soon as they can they will get me a room but some of the patients have been waiting in ER for a room for over 2 days. I am extremely upset. many people are in their beds the hallway because no rooms available. *5/4/2020 The Abrazo Campus West staff and Dr Anaparthy, whom works out of this facility, are friendly but beware when you have an issue, you will not find any from Abrazo West or Southwest Gastroenterology. I was setup with a procedure at the Abrazo West Campus. The hospital anesthesiologist could not get an IV started on me. After poking me 8 times, and causing me much pain due to the amount of sticks, and filling my arm with IV fluids instead of my vein, I had to tell them to stop and cancel the procedure. Since my torture session at Abrazo, they've since billed me for the procedure and for administering anesthesia to me. Well I'm not sure how you can administer anesthesia without an IV but they'll say they did and charge you for it. I've got nobody on my side except Dr. Anaparthy whom if she could write a short 2 sentence letter for me to give Abrazo West, that would go a long way helping me get this incorrect billing sorted out. After calling Dr. Anaparthy's office pleading for help to write a one or two sentence letter for help, I was told she doesn't do that and to not expect any help from them. Ive contacted Abrazo billing and started a dispute. They call me back explaining what's on their record is what I'm on the hook for. Apparently they can write on record whatever they want and bill you for it. I'm out approximately $1500 for a procedure that never happened and anesthesia that was never administered. Stay far way from Southwest Gastroenterology and Abrazo West campus. I'm contacting ACA billing for fraudulent billing against Abrazo West Campus and Greater Anesthesia Solutions I will adjust this review depending on the outcome. Thanks for reading. UPDATE- **5/6/2020 Since writing this review, I've mailed a 3 page letter stating my case to the Abrazo Resolution Service Dept. I was contacted by them just 2 days after writing this review. It must be noted there was no assistance from Southwest Gastroenterology to help my case. I am a 75 yr old man, 100% Service Connected Disabled since age 43 with severe cardiac, spinal stenosis & several other major problems. It is now 4:30am on Friday morning 3 Feb 2023. I have had no sleep. My roommate Terry Hogan was taken by ambulance to your Abrazo West ER yesterday morning. YOUR ER & HOSPITAL SCREWED UP!!! IF your ER was so full they should not have accepted him! He was sent home early afternoon. He hardly had enough strength to move from wheelchair to car & then to his wheelchair at home placed in the driveway! I have yet to get any sleep! He lacks enough strength to stand & pee by the bedside into a urinal so now the carpet is soaked. The right side of his body does not work, that side of his face droops. It takes two of us to move him when he slides off the bed as he outweighs each of us by 100 pounds. His memory & thought process is poor. AND YET YOUR ER SENT HIM HOME! BIGGEST RIP-OFF EVER! A few months ago I cut my finger with a kitchen knife and the next day it was still bleeding. The Abrazo West Campus is right around the corner from my house and, since I had just moved to the area and did not have a family doctor yet, I decided to go there to see if I needed stitches. I explained all of this when I checked in, including the fact that I knew this wasn't a real emergency, but we were headed out for a camping trip and I was worried about possible infection to the finger. I guess I expected triage before being admitted, but that didn't happen.. The doctor looked at my finger, ran it under cold water in the sink for a few minutes, put on a steri-strip & band-aid and sent me away. I have been billed $1,700 for this service. With my insurance deductible I have had to pay close to $1,500. Over $900 for the emergency room and over $500 for the doctor's fee.....FOR A STERI-STRIP AND A BAND-AID!!!!! I contested the fees and, of course, they told me I had to pay. Avoid this place unless you are bleeding to death or having a heart attack. read more

Don't even know where to start. Went to Abrazzo West on 9/24/22 for abdominal pain. Waited 4+ hours to be seen. I do understand patients with greater severity of issues are seen first. When finally seen, received cursory examination by ER doctor and orders for blood work and abdominal ultrasound (which was negative) and CT (also negative). Diagnosis: Unspecified abdominal pain and given a prescription for Bentyl (Bentyl used for Irritable Bowel Syndrome and spasms). Actual diagnosis should have been Torn abdominal muscle w/ Sprain/strain of rib cage. Charge to insurance company was $28,000.00+. Insurance company reduced bill to approx. $4200.00. Including over 1000.00 for CT that is usually done outpatient for about 200.00. Even better. Bill for ER physician was over 1070.00 ... reduced to 621.00 by insurance. Billing code was for "Comprehensive ER Visit". Code specifically states what must be done to be billed as such. History - check, Review of Chief Complaint - check, Review of Systems - barely done, Examination - was limited, not comprehensive. Decision Making: Obviously from above .... limited ... maybe intermediate. Definitely not complex .... not a decision for admission to hospital or life threatening condition. Obviously, insurance coding was deliberately increased to try and obtain higher reimbursement. In process of filing a complaint with AZ Attorney General to investigate billing practices of facilities and doctor groups they hire (doctor does not decide charges ... billing department does). FYI .... I am familiar with CPT Codes and the levels of care and how things are billed. Stay clear of Abrazzo West. read more

My sister arrived in the ER at 4:30 PM on the gurney from the ambulance and was lying on the same gurney until 2:00 AM. Very uncomfortable to lie there in pain for almost 10 hours. The nurses were so kind and generous once she was in her room. The food was TERRIBLE. She cannot eat fish or dairy, and they provide no menu nor choices for meals. They serve the same meal to all patients!!! She was left to go hungry!!! What hospital doesn't have a menu and a food allergy protocol when serving patients meals! Relatives were able to eventually bring peanuts into the hospital for her to get by the first day. Very sad. read more

Dr. Ilyus - anesthesiologist. First I want to say that our experience at this hospital was stellar and I will write a 5 star about that. However, our first encounter with a doc was with this man that came in to give my "daughter" her epidural. I understand that highly intelligent docs can sometimes be assholes, but this man took it to a new level. He was condescending to all of us, even to his nurse that was a DOLL. He spoke to this laboring mom like she was dirt. It was all I could do to not jump across the bed, grab him by the hair of the head and shake him...he's lucky I am not a violent person. Just trying to get the line in..he was SO RUDE to my girl and she was hurting so badly, trying to follow his instructions. Good grief! He was just awful. And each time he returned to top her off, he was just as nasty. No one like him should be dealing with laboring moms. I heard through another patient they received his same nasty demeanor. He needs to be counseled by his authorities. It just was not ok. THIS WAS NOT OUR ENTIRE experience. Just this man. Very sad. A bummer way to begin the journey of bringing new life into the world. OH GOSH!!! It's not letting write a second review...so I am changing my stars to FIVE even tho that first doc should be a ZERO. Ok....let's talk about the nursing staff!! Can I just say that I have had 'millions' of surgeries in my life and these nurses are TOP NOTCH. Let me do a shout out to Maria (night nurse in Labor and Deliver) and another sweet girl I can recall her name, but that entire night staff was incredible. When they did change of staff at 6 a.m. I was so nervous because we were loving how well they were taking care of my "daughter" during her labor. But on came nurse AMY. OH MY!!! What an angel of mercy. Her attentiveness was just over the top. She worked so hard to get that baby here. Things got dicey a couple of times and she was so ON TOP of things SO FAST, it made my head spin. She kept mom comfortable while she kept our baby girl safe. I can't say enough about this girl except she needs a BIG raise! We also got continued anesthesia care from a Dr Kahn. Talk about night and day. WHAT A SWEET, WONDERFUL man. Smart, intelligent, funny, engaging, calming. We LOVED him. And, when it came time for the delivery, my gosh! the room was flooded with personnel that turned the last 30 minutes into a dream delivery. There is no way to put into words my gratitude. But I am going to take some donuts out there! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. The way our night started compared to how it all developed was just wonderful. read more

I went into the hospital on August 18 very frightened that apparently I was having a heart attack. I cannot say enough about this hospital and the care they gave me. One in particular person I would like to point out is Tony he is a nurse there in the ER. He truly sets the standard for caring and compassion. He was able to calm me down and get me to think clearly. Doctors are great but nurses are beyond great. I am so grateful to Tony and I am on the mend and I truly feel he had a hand in saving my life and making sure I had the care I needed. This year, I've had to occasions to put the quality of healthcare provided at Abrazo Hospital West to the test and they passed with flying colors! I have found the staff to be hard working and efficient will allowing some humor to keep things light and comfortable. Within a month, I had to bring in my brother and finally myself for treatment. In both cases, we were well informed on progress and prognosis and processed in and out with NASCAR efficiency with excellent follow-up. Id like to take this opportunity to thank the great Emergency Department Staff of Abrazo West for their superior care!!! read more

Wasn't planning to give birth here at Abrazo but I'm glad I did. Nurses were wonderful and checked up on me and when I called for them they were very quick with helping me. The food was good. They made my delivery wonderful and made me feel comfortable. They made my little girl a bracelet with her birthstones and gave me a beautiful thoughtful gift to go home with. This is by far the worst facility when it comes to patient care and treatment. It has taken over 24 hours for a surgeon to come in and speak to my father-in-law after his surgery on Sunday. He has repeatedly asked for a cough drop, the nurse tells him she will get it, and then completely forgets. He went over 4 hours without water as well. There is zero bedside manner/patient compassion at this location. Unless you are on your death bed, go to Banner. You will be treated way better at Banner! read more

Horrible customer service. Staff is very friendly but they don't care to keep their patients informed. You have to PRY to get any kind of update on test results. Not only that but they seem disorganized. They attempted to take my mom to the WRONG test. If it wasn't for someone else being here it would have been done since my mom was on sedatives / pain relief (WITHOUT AN IV I MIGHT ADD). Every single time I walk onto the fifth floor there are MULTIPLE nurses standing around chatting or on their phones. Don't mind staying out of their way when walking down the hall either since they don't care much to look up from their phones. They are rather unprofessional and some even appear lazy. Again, they are all nice people but there are NO standards for their behavior or professionalism. Abrazo West Campus - Not sure what this is but it's there in our curtained off area in plain sight. - Hospitals Near Me - Goodyear, Arizona

This would be zero if it were allowed! My mother (88 next month) was brought to the ER via ambulance last month. She had fallen at home, and complained of arm/shoulder pain. In the ER she had an x-ray, and diagnosed with a break of her humerus (upper arm bone). While in the ER, she had to go to the bathroom. She was wheeled by someone, and then left alone, where she fell again. She was sent home with my dad (90 next month) after about 3 hours. She was not given any pain med, no follow-up (except see someone in 3-5 days), no nothing!! Told to return for any problems or concerns. She was then put into the car with my dad and sent home. Once home, we had her immediately transported to a different hospital, where she was admitted, and taken care of the way she should have been. She was seen by ortho, PT, and given pain med. Her arm was placed in a device to stabilize. I've contacted Abrazo West twice now, the first time I got the canned response "We are committed to providing a positive patient experience and compassionate care for every patient. We will share this with our leadership team and address this immediately." Have I gotten a response? NO. It's been 2 1/2 weeks since I first reached out. Very frustrating that my elderly mom was treated so badly, and then allowed to fall again. Wouldn't you think if someone comes to the ER after falling, they would try to insure that the person did not fall again? I feel like she got minimal care, then sent on her way. Horrible place to deal with. Rude. Disrespectful. Unprofessional individuals. Long story short. I had an appointment for a colonoscopy. Two days prior to my procedure, They called me and asked me to pay 1100 self pay otherwise I will not be seen. They had all this time to call me and they decided to tell me that 2 days prior to my procedure. They didn't want to submit claim to my insurance as my insurance was a limited plan. And so they wanted to make sure they will get paid and demanded a self pay. After many phone calls, they agreed to let me pay a month later. Then later that day, they called again to told me that nobody agreed for the amount to be paid a month later. I told them the supervisor helped me with this and that they can listen to the recordings. They said there is no supervisor who would approve that request and when I gave them the phone number the "supervisor" called me from, nobody responded. So they told me "you either pay tomorrow or you reschedule". All day on the phone and I still don't know who I spoke with. They drove me crazy. Kept switching from one person to the other and when I finally had a plan that worked for me, they told me that they never allowed it and I made this up. Also, if you have to speak with billing/financial department, be prepared because the employees are outside of the country and communication is tricky. read more

I had a scheduled spinal decompression/fusion surgery for 6/3/2022. The experience was awful, however there were a few good things (which I will also mention. At check-in Amber was so kind and professional. Then the nurse that called me back to get my bp, temp and then to get me in a hospital gown was in such a bad mood (it's 5:45am). Lisa who collected my info after getting into my gown and hospital bed was very kind and answered my questions to the best of her ability. Sabrina came to give me my IV and get blood type and blew my vein. It happens, I get that but then I had to stay in the bedding for 2 days that had the blood on it. Then it was showtime, my anesthesiologist was wheeling me to the operating room the nurse at the foot of my bed was cussing out my anesthesiologist (several F-bombs) to slow down. "She had just come back for having hurt her back and she wasn't going to do it again on account of us". As the patient it was super uncomfortable. Then in the recovery area there's a nurse there, Conrad. He is the best part of this whole adventure. He treated me so well and was so good to me, like family. He was by my side almost the entire time. I was in recovery for about 4 hours because they couldn't get a room together for some reason. And yes, I do understand that I am not their only patient. Conrad informed me that physical therapy was coming to see me. 2 women show up and tell me how I'm supposed to prop myself up so I can sit up from a laying down position. One of the women tells the other " her bp cuff is still on her right arm" and she even repeated it to her counterpart that went to go get a walker for me. The woman who stated my bp cuff was still on then has me attempting to sit up (on my left side), as suggested, and she keeps telling me "Sit up, sit up!". I said, "I can't, I'm caught" (mind you I can't speak loudly due to the procedure relocating my vocal cords and breathing tube. The other lady comes back with the walker then sees how I'm contortioned. " DON"T TURN YOUR HEAD! DON"T TURN YOUR HEAD!" Again, I say I'm caught! I still had the bp cuff on which was pulling my right arm behind me and forcing me to turn my head and body to the right! The pain was absolutely horrible. After they left and I was crying, laying in my bed Conrad came back. The look on his sweet face when he saw me crying, he asked what happened (he actually seemed upset that they had hurt me), he RAN to get me pain meds. The man is angel!! I was actually a little sad when a room did eventually become available, that he wasn't going with me. Got to my room, a/c was barely working in my room. The little bit I did get to sleep was interrupted by them coming in every hour half, but that's just how it is when you spend the night. The nurses in my room were ok, but how can anyone follow Conrad! Tough act to follow. Next morning I'm told I have to have some x-rays and then I can go home! I was put in a wheelchair to go get x-rays and the nurse (don't think I had seen her before) seemed like she was in a hurry. Any time she had get me moving from a stop she would really get moving and my head just kept getting pushed backwards from the momentum. Asked her to be kind and shared with my room nurse, who apologized. At discharge, again I'm in a wheelchair and my nurse that I talked about the momentum being painful, ended up doing the same thing. Now little over a month later I received a bill from my anesthesiologist (who is in network) for just shy of $1100. Call my insurance company trying to understand why the bill. And my insurance rep says that it's correct. I asked how? when Abrazo West Campus had collected $3400 on 5/26. I have a $3000 deductible and max out of pocket of $4000. She says I don't show any claims from that facility at all. She explained that legally the facility has 90 days to file the claim. My wonderful insurance rep called AWC billing on my behalf, and Irene said she'd file it today. So, because they didn't do the job and file right away now, I have the pleasure of paying these other bills that should have been covered. I did my part as the patient. I wish they did their part as the provider. Then I was informed from my ins rep that I have to pay these bills and AWC will reimburse me. How many months down the road will I get my $?? The hospital, after they finally do file the claim, it can take about 2 months for the hospital to get paid by my insurance and after that they will pay me my money back. This facility will get paid twice (they took my money and then from my ins) before I get any money back. And I don't imagine that they're in any hurry to do that either. Patients are people in case you forgot!!! I do not recommend this place at all!! Conrad yes! Facility hell no!! I know a review is not enough, but Abrazo needs to know what an incredible asset he is, and he deserves a raise!! Hopefully they will fix other issues that they clearly have. read more

I just had the most amazing experience last week at Abrazo West Valley Hospital! I was there for a day for an out patient surgery and I had the best nurses and doctors ever. From registration to discharge everything was a breeze. A special shout out to Amber in registration, Angelina with anesthesia, Gladys in recovery and Ellen on floor 5! Y'all made a hard experience easy! Loved that I had a Thank You note that was signed by my surgical team a few days later! Will highly recommend West Valley! read more

Avoid if at all possible. I took my fiancé into the ER on Friday because she was in so much pain she could not walk. After waiting about two hours we decided we were going to leave and go somewhere else. I told them we were leaving and left to get the car. As I pull up to the ER entrance to pick her up she calls and says they will be tacking here back. So I park the car and go back in. I am then toils that I cannot be I there because they do not allow visitors. Fine I leave I am only concerned with here getting better. About an hour later I get a call they are releasing her. I pick her up and she tells me it is sciatica. I asked if they ran any test or anything and she said no. We already had an appointment with her pcp for the following week so fine. Now today she can't even stand to go from the bed to a manual push wheelchair. She falls on the floor and could not get up. We had to call 911 and they had to pick up and took her to the same hospital. About 5 hours later the release her. She still has trouble standing and almost could not get in or out the car. Seems like all this hospital cares about is being able to charge insurance to make money. Update - she ended up back there by ambulance again after 24 hours of being in the ER and not feeling like she was being cared for I took her straight to St Joseph's. Found out her sugar was still extremely high. She was admitted in less then 4 hours due to her condition. I still have gotten no follow up from Abrazo since 8/13 when I was told " I will have our team review your concern and the medical record and respond back to you. This will take several days." I guess several days actually means weeks. Might be time to look into filing a complaint with the health department. read more

Was not impressed. Went into ER for stomach pain. Was so drugged I don't remember 9 hours. Woke up after appendix was removed to no recollection that I was going to have surgery. My first nurse seemed really nice and informed me pretty well. My second nurse made stuff up and lied to me to try and get me to lay down and stay the night. The CNA and I had the same conversation every 15 minutes because she didn't listen to me at all. Left to go home 3.5/4 hours after because of quality of care. read more
