Doctor Abrishami saved my son from warts on his hands, which we have been fighting for over two years! We have been to three different dermatologists who tried a number of various treatments. We even went the non-traditional route and went to see a "healer" who tried yet another approach, but nothing worked. Finally we've been blessed to find Dr. Abrishami who did good old cryogenic treatment, but did it THE CORRECT WAY. I am happy to see my son's hands finally clear of warts. Dr Abrishami is an excellent diagnostician. He quickly diagnosed a skin condition that another dermatologist was unable to diagnose over an extended period, and began a treatment that is working well. His office staff is pleasant and provides excellent customer service. A most recent example: I requested renewal of an Rx at a different pharmacy because the original pharmacy had had a significant raise in prices. The office staff contacted a different pharmacy, coordinated with my insurance company to confirm coverage of the Rx, provided a "prior authorization," and then notified me that the pharmacy would call when the Rx was available for pickup. I have been dealing with an unknown cause for a continuous skin irritation for many months. If you're too afraid of Covid? Don't open up! Had a pre-interview, mostly asking about possible symptoms and money/insurance. Arrived to find 7 notices on the double doors, regarding Covid-19. Waited in the hallway almost 10-minutes with others, calling in to see if/when we could be let in to the office. Another Covid Interview, Then was asked for a co-pay by credit card - on the phone, in the hall - Not comfortable with that! When the hall cleared, I was asked for my credit card and insurance and led to a room. Great, where's my card, I don't know you. I was to be asked for my PIN number for someone holding my Debit card - Is that why there's a PIN??? Again, I don't think so! But wait - A third Covid Symptom Interview Beyond that, very nonchalant attitude about items of MY concern and things to be taken care of... But hey, come back in 6-months and we'll see if it's needed, even if I wanted it now. I highly recommend Dr. Abrishami, he is the best Dermetologist. His office staff is extremely nice and helpful.

He may be a great doctor, but I never had the chance to experience that. I waited 45 minutes in a freezing cold exam room in a gown, and finally left when no one came in to even apologize for the delay. If he had been taking all this time with other patients prior to my visit, I would possibly be able to understand, but that wasn't the case. He arrived right behind me in street clothes into the building (on the phone with his assistants who were asking where he was b/c he was late) and then walked into the waiting room with his scrubs on after I had already finished my paperwork. So did he change in the public bathroom? So random. It's nice to see that he is thought about so highly, though. Finding the right fit with a Doctor is so important. If you have the time to wait around for him, then he's your guy. I am a working Mother and my time is SO limited. So, having made me wait all that time without an apology, I give him one star. His time is in no way more valuable than mine and he's not the only excellent dermatologist in the conejo valley. read more

I am a harsh judge of doctors, but if anyone needs to go to a dermatologist I highly recommend Dr. Abrishami in Agoura. Most dermatologists I've found to be relatively useless, unless you have skin cancer. And, I've been to many over the past three decades. However, this doctor is brilliant, fantastically educated, and nice. He's also a (dermato-) pathologist. I have recurring skin cancer that requires surgery and after a very expensive and not so good experience with a doctor in Westwood, my wife found Dr Abrishami. What a blessing. This guy is worth knowing about. I'll kick myself when its hard to get an appointment because he's so busy; but it's still the fair thing to do. I first met Dr. Abrishami when I needed to get something looked at right away and couldn't take a half a day to get to my old dermatologist in Beverly Hills. His staff was polite and helpful and on a day that he was set to only be doing paperwork he got me in. Like an old fashioned doctor, the kind who cares as much for their patients as they do for the money they make, he was kind, polite about my barrage of questions, and really knew what he was doing. As much as I have enjoyed having one dermatologist for 30 years, it's worth it to make the switch when you find a doctor of Dr Abrishami's caliber - and much closer to my home in Old Agoura. Just now on the phone his office spent all the time I needed to help me understand the costs of a procedure I was having done. This guy is amazing. I struggled with Rosacea around my eyes for 2 years. I went to 4 dermatologists and they prescribed me the medicine that made the issue worse. Dr. Abrishami looked at me and in 2 seconds said without a shadow of doubt identified what I was struggling with. He also is a certified pathologist so to verify his knowledge he took a sample. 4 days later my rosacea was gone!!! His office staff is kind and making appointments is a breeze. I have been to many dermatologists over the years and have had my skin checked several times. I'm very fair skinned and spent my earlier years in the sun. In the past when I had my skin checked, the best I got was a cursory glance and "face me...okay turn around...everything looks fine". Not this time! Dr. Abrishami checked in front of my ears, behind my ears, lifted my hair and checked my neck. He looked with a light in my eyes (you can get skin cancer there too). He checked under my arms, between my toes, fingers you name it. He preened me like a spider monkey! We joked a bit and I found that he had a delightful sense of humor which made me quite comfortable. He did find something along my hairline. He then explained to me what it was. He felt the best way to treat it would be to freeze it and said that would take care of it. So we did. Dr. Abrishami is brilliant! I found him to be personable, professional, kind and he was sensitive to the fact that I was standing there in my underwear with a paper gown feeling quite vulnerable. I came in with a similar experience as the first reviewer--my previous dermatologist was retiring, and so I was looking for a new doctor in the area. I was also referred to Dr. Abrishami after calling for Dr. Pakula, and I definitely had a nice experience. Clean and new facility, parking is easy, and I was in and out in less than a half hour! Be very weary of this practice and make absolutely certain that you do not have to directly interact with them or that any doctor you go to does not utilize them for review. I decided to take my daughter to an out of network provider for dermatology because we were not getting the treatment I thought she needed. The entire visit was excellent, start to finish. I had a lot of sun damage on my arms and really needed some form of treatment to help. A few cosmetologists recommended IPL but I didn't just want to remove spots, I wanted to smooth out the skin as well. Dr. Abrishami recommended an chemical peel. I was a bit apprehensive since my skin is so fair and sensitive but ended up scheduling an appointment. The process was not too uncomfortable which was good. Post treatment I was blotchy and scaly (as expected) but I did everything he recommended (tons and tons of moisturizer all day and night) and literally watched my skin flake and peel in sheets for two weeks now and it seems the peeling is just about done.There is still some redness but I know that will fade in time. I personally see a great difference in the appearance of my arms and hands as well. I would never have let anyone else but an experienced, board certified professional like Dr. Abrishami perform this peel on me and I am so glad I did. He's amazing. read more

First let me start by saying, Dr Abrishami is amazing! I never had a reason to see a dermatologist. When the need arose, I asked a friend of mine who happens to be a doctor. When I found out that I needed an excision, I became apprehensive because I have a tremendous fear of needles. Not only was his knowledge of his specialty incredible but his nature and personality made the entire procedure, pain free, anxiety free and at times he even had me laughing. Dr. Abrishami is a very competent dematologist with a kind and understanding manner, and loads of charm. A young MD with impeccable credentials, Dr. Abrishami caught a very small small mole that I assumed was "OK" during one of my first visits to him (5 + years back), that turned out to be a melanoma that needed immediate attention. The really unusual situation here is that not only is Dr. A a skilled dermatologist, at the time (five years back) he was also a primary dermo-pathologist with UCLA as well. He continues in that practice along with his primary dermo role. Meaning he not only biopsied the questionable mole (on my left wrist), but then performed his own pathological exam on my biopsy at UCLA once the pathologist his local practice used returned a positive (stage 2 malignancy) diagnosis and I was referred to UCLA for surgery. Dr. Abrishami then was able to refer me to the head of the dermo oncology department at UCLA to perform the surgery (never hurts to have connections!) and made doubly sure that I was being well cared for throughout the process and post surgery. As I am an older guy (50's) with plenty of of precancerous skin issues, Dr. A has performed many such procedures on a variety of troublesome spots - mostly on my face. He is highly skilled in that area. You'd never know I had (a few sizable) growths removed in obvious parts of my face. I could not imagine being in better hands ... even though it took a a few visits for me to get his name down! I'd highly recommend Dr. A across the board. read more

I'll try to keep this short and sweet as I no longer live in California. Uh this guy is like super super super awesome. Not a dermatologist, he is a dermatopathologist. Which in short means he does not need to send a biopsy to a lab... he is the lab. This guy used to be second only to the head of his department at UCLA. I could go on about degrees and such but like honestly this guy is the guy to go to. He will know everything there is to know because what he can't see with his eyes he can see under the microscope. If he thinks you might have a troubling mole or something he will just look for himself. No need to wait a week to find out if you have something nasty. Not that I can speculate on anyone's personal finances but even paying out of pocket might be better then using your insurance on someone else. Why go anywhere else. Yeah you could save on your co pay and not have results so just go here. To clarify I am saying if you have the cash but your insurance won't cover it then fuck it and pay out of pocket. He's pro. I would try my skin with him anyway. Oh and he cleared up my acne pretty effectively too. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I am an RN who has worked in dermatology. I have been a patient of Dr. Abrishami for approximately 10 years. What is special about Dr. Abrishami is that he is not only a dermatologist but a dermatopathologist. That means that he is the one that other dermatologists send their biopsy slides to, to be read and diagnosed. When you see him he will give you a very thorough skin check but his enhanced training allows him to diagnose many things without unnecessary biopsies. Although he is obviously knowledgeable and competent, he is patient and kind and will spend as much time as needed to answer any questions you may have. His office staff is always professional and polite. I have never experienced excessive waiting for an appointment. I have recommended him many times to family and friends and will continue to do so. We are very lucky to have him in the Conejo Valley. read more
