I got 4 estimates and they were by far the most professional and knowledgeable. Very good price! I look forward to working with them soon!

Over 3 months pass and he hadn't even started. He breached his contract then as the snow & cold was approaching I decided I did not want the addition done. After asking for my money back (at least what he didn't use) he could not come up with receipts or invoices to prove it was spent. Then he just ghosted me. Had an attorney reach out and he did the same . Come to find out he never even paid or picked up the permits . He is a liar & thief !

Run, don't walk, away from Travis Reimer and never look back. I sincerely wish we would have heeded the advice from a previous reviewer - but we thought maybe it was a fluke. Initially he was nice, accommodating, and available. He told us to our face more than once that our addition project was on track - that he had great subs lined up - materials ordered, etc. but as time went on we discovered that he is a chronic, compulsive liar. The subs either didn't show or he sent someone last minute who was completely unqualified to perform the work. We felt extremely uneasy as our building site set dormant for days and weeks on end. After our project started, we discovered that he was building his own house and using employees at his site versus ours - putting more salt in the wound. When we started to question what was happening, he stopped showing up at all and started texting - incessantly. The nice guy facade quickly disappeared only to be replaced with completely unprofessional rudeness, name calling, accusations, threats, lying and bullying. He will not hold himself accountable for anything. He tried to overcharge for materials - in one instance more than double the retail price for tile - and told us it was his cost. Outright lie. Think Jekyll and Hyde. Workmanship is sub par. Enormous gaps throughout all of the siding, crooked roof line, incomplete framing, entry roofs attached to fascia and more. All had to be fixed by us afterwards at our expense. He did not provide formal draw requests accompanied by Sworn Statements (Michigan law to provide an accounting of monies to track spending) - intentionally leaving us completely in the dark. And, we had to insist days on end for lien waivers which he complained about each time accusing us of being horrible clients because we wanted them. Halfway into our addition build - estimating that we had paid much more than the work performed - we refused to continue paying without the proper documentation. Rather than provide that, he terminated our contract. Days later, he tried to revive it but we were so beyond done. We transferred our permit and are finishing the job ourselves by hiring qualified subcontractors and tradesmen. We have since spoken with several past clients who have either fired him, he's taken money from and not performed the work, or provided sub par work for. If you are looking for a builder in Traverse City, Kingsley, or surrounding areas, we strongly recommend you avoid any dealings with Travis Reimer, Reimer Building Inc, Reimer Building and Remodeling - or any other name he's choosing to use. At this time we are filing complaints with the Michigan Bureau of Construction Codes (BCC), the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), the Better Business Bureau and Benzie County Building. Someone needs to review his practices - or more.

We spoke at length, and I believe he was at my home for more than an hour, the first time. He understood what I wanted because his quotes reflected what I was interested in doing. After receiving his quotes, I called and spoke with Certainteed, the shingle manufacturer that I preferred, and they told me that Northshore Exteriors had the highest level of certification for their installers and not only gave me peace of mind but this also allowed me to purchase the 50 year transferrable guarantee. I did not feel pressured in the least and I really appreciated that. I went to their office/store several times to review my choices of style and color And before I made the final decision, I went to Wimsatt, who supplies the shingles, and I was able to see the two shingles I was deciding between and which allowed me to make my decision, there and then, as I saw it as it would look on my house. When the crew came to do the shingle/roof removal and installation the foreman, Thomas, was extemely thorough, making sure I knew everything that was happening and why. He also explained to m all of thee problems that they found that caused all of my problems and how they were going to take care of the issue to ensure that my 50 year warranty would hopefully never need to come into play. He was so sweet and professional, as were all of the crew. Speaking of the crew, their work was Excellent and they obviously knew what they were doing. They got to the work site early and stayed long, always cleaning up meticulously behind themselves. I couldn't be happier with the roof, it's Gorgeous. Finally the trim around the windows and the new soffit and fascia came a couple days later and Rex, the foreman for that crew was just as professional and easy to work with as was Thomas. This crew, who specialized in this area of the roof, really knew what they were doing. There were several issues which needed special attention and it was all addressed and no one would know by looking at my home. I know I made the right decision, Northshore Exteriors was top notch all the way around, nothing but perfection. Thank you! Laura Baylis Lake Ann, MI

Roof ridge vents added without cutting out the wood to allow the vent to work. Where other square vents were removed only roofing covered the opening. No building permit pulled for repairing the decking that had 1-1/2" gaps in several areas, 1" gaps on average. No starter strip used. Their sloppy work voided any warranty from the manufacturer of the material.
