I read the reviews on yelp for this office, and chose to schedule my initial pediatric dental appointment for my child at a different office. However, the pediatric dentist at the other office was pregnant and could not offer certain services, we ended up receiving a referral for the Nellis and Charleston office anyway. We were able to schedule an initial appointment relatively quickly. Our appointment was early in the morning. The staff was courteous, helpful, and listened. They communicated clearly with both me and with my child. We waited less than 15 minutes in the waiting room after our appointment time. This was my 8 year old sons lip after a general check up at Absolute Dental. When I took him back the next morning, The staff handled the situation in the most unprofessional way pointing at my son and snickering in the back, my baby was so embarrassed he put his head down and asked if his lip was going to stay like that forever. The practicing dentist refused to prescribed antibiotics to my son because as she stated she was only shadowing. I later learned she was not to be touching patients because this ment she was NOT LICENSE yet. Thankfully the ER prescribed him antibiotics and the infection cleared days later. When I took him back to the pediatrician for a follow up we could clearly see a fine slit on the lip, she confined it was done by a dirty dental instrument. This location referred me to an oral surgeon at a different location and didn't bother to schedule me with a surgeon who was in network with my insurance. I've left work 3 separate times early to get a tooth extraction and nobody knows what they are doing and just refers me to a different location. How is this standard of care acceptable? I would have given no stars or negative 5 stars if that were possible. A family member took our elderly mother, who was in severe pain on one side of her mouth, to this clinic because it was close to her home. The lobby was unkempt and un-airconditioned on this 90 degree day. The dentist said she had two infected teeth on different sides of her mouth that needed extraction. They sent her home with an appointment to return in two months for the extraction to be done by a "specialist" in the same clinic. There was no anitbiotic prescribed for this infection, nor was there any advice regarding pain control for the next two months. This 99 pound elderly patient could easily have become septic from this infection if she were left untreated for the two months until extraction. On advice of another family member our mother was taken to another, unrelated clinic for a second opinion and to see if more comprehensive care was advised. This dentist discovered infection on only one side of her mouth, the one side that where she originally reported the pain, and consequently the need for only one tooth to be extracted. This patient was sent home with an appointment in two days for the extraction of only one tooth, and a prescription for antibiotics as well as advice for anti-inflammatory and pain control. Either the provider she saw at Absolute Dental was extremely incompetent or unexperienced and was unable to see the potential harm from lack of comprehensive treatment, or this clinic is taking advantage of an elderly patient with dementia, for her Medicare benefits, which besides not being a good look is fraudulent and illegal. Needless to say we cancelled the future appointment with Absolute Dental, will never refer anyone to this clinic and felt the need to write several poor reviews. We do regret not having read the many poor reviews preceding this one before our mother was taken to this clinic. The original referral for this clinic came from the patients Medicare advantage plan which will be advised of the poor care as well. read more

My previous experience in the office was extremely positive--I always had interaction with staff, and being informed about my overall treatment. My last visit was totally opposite from the prior visits, I completed the necessary documentation before my arrival in the parking lot and signed in the front desk at 1:50 pm. Right before 2:00pm patient were being called to the back for treatment. One individual, called to the back, then a second, then a third, then a fourth, after the fifth I did notice I was different and ask when would I be seen by the doctor. They explained it would take another thirty-five minutes but I verified the time of my appointment it was at 2:00 pm the individual from back desk states doctor is still seeing other patients, did I not deserve the courtesy to be given that information at 1:50 when I first checked in. My wait would have been one hour and ten minutes for a 2:00 pm appointment. Was offered to re-schedule another appointment and I declined need better customer service and not to be treated differently. Oh I do understand I'm different my time is not as important or valuable as theirs so I should have the ability to wait all day long. read more

This place is absolutely the worst. If I could leave I would, but my daughter got her braces done here so we are stuck for another year. Appointments mean absolutely nothing. You still wait at least 35 minutes to an hour before getting seen. At that point what's the point of making an appointment. Today, they had scheduled us for a cleaning before her braces tightening. So I sign in. They haven't called me in 20 minutes so I go up to the desk and ask a question. Then she proceeds to tell me the hygentist is not here. Why wouldn't you just say that when i checked in. She then said im the only one here and im training her. If you knew the hygentist was not in why wouldn't you say so when I checked in. So they wasted 20 minutes. Good thing I had an ortho appointment so I didn't waste my time. Because if I drove up here for nothing, I wouldve been pissed. Also if you knew the hygentist called in sick, why wouldn't you just call people who had appointments and tell them not to come in. UPDATE So since there was no hygentist available the last time we came because she called in, we scheduled another appointment. We came today and were seen right away by the hygentist, but since my daughter has braces they must remove the wire first. Apparently there is no orthodontist available so now they are cleaning her teeth and leaving the wire out of the braces. We must go to another location to get the wire put back in the braces 3 days from now. Hopefully they are able to do it because we can't make an appointment and there is only walk in avaibility. So then i just proceeded to go to the other side of the office and got my daughters braces changed. This office has horrible communication skills and they are always running behind. I would definitely not recommend this establishment unless it was an absolute last resort. Once her braces are off, we will NEVER come back. read more

Absolute Dental on 169 N. Nellis also known as Southern Nevada General Dentistry Prada, PLLC. The clinic is run down and rather dirty (see pictures), even the kids Detroit is less than inviting. The floor looked as if it had not been mopped in weeks. The bathroom was filthy and the general exam areas were not clean. The kids toys in the lobby were so filthy they should be burned. The lobby itself was in disrepair even as sparsely furnished as it was. The staff was very friendly though someone screwed up my insurance information and they waited to tell me until we showed up. As it happened my insurance was closed that day and I had to pay out of pocket almost $200, due to their poor communication. They had called me the day prior and never mentioned an issue with my insurance. The cleaning for both of my children was by far the fastest and least comprehensive I've seen. It took 2-4min for each child. Im not a dentist or dental tech but it seems quick. Again I'll reiterate that the staff was very friendly which at least made the in-person customer service aspect pleasant. read more

This has to be the worst experience I have ever had in a dental office on several reasons. 1. No AC on in the whole office. 2. Staff is short ,and snappy with customers. Every front desk person left on break when customers needed help. 3. You hear kids yelling, and screaming in a dental office where people are having operations. 4 I had to redo paperwork that I already had filed, from the same office. I am a single mother who works two jobs and never has time to take my daughter she is 17. I used to be able to drop her off on blue diamond perfectly fine. at this location parents are not allowed in anyways, they are supposed to be in their car the whole appointment so I don't really see the difference between me being there in the car or my daughter who is 17 works a job and also helps me take care of my younger daughters can't take her self to her own braces dental appointment she just has to change them and tighten she already has got them on already I have signed papers I have already paid. When we first moved here in 2014, I found this dental office. Everything was great back then from the receptionist up to the dentist. Year 2016 I scheduled an appointment for my son's regular dental cleaning. I did update our paperwork work (receptionist took a copy of my insurance Id)since we have a new insurance. The old male dentist told me that my sons teeth was totally messed up that is why he needs to deep clean it. During our conversation my baby suddenly cries and he told me that he cannot deal with me with a crying baby and left me hanging in the hallway...How rude!! Then a lady called me up to her desk and started her calculations on what I have to pay. Total for deep cleaning was $560. My copay was $205. After paying I went out and waited for my son. Not even 30mins my sons was already done. My son told me that the dentist just gave him a regular cleaning. I was so pissed off. Fast forward..After 6 months I received a call from their corporate/main office that I still have an outstanding balance amounting to $165. The guy told me that they offer payment plans and if I want to pay in cash or credit card. He even mentioned that it was not covered by my insurance. I called the corporate office and the dental office for 2 consecutive days to make sure they forward the bill to my new insurance. Next thing you'll know, they charged the wrong insurance that's why the bill was not processed. I was totally mad and even told the office manager that I did my part in updating my insurance info and still your trying to harass me that you will send it to collections. I went in yesterday to get a regular teeth cleaning and the receptionist told me I had a $19 co-pay. I told her I didn't want or need a deep cleaning, just a regular maintenance cleaning. She went and got the office manager Hugh to come over and he told me that I had to have the deep or peridontal cleaning. I insisted that I didn't need that, but they wouldn't let me see the hygienist unless I paid the co-pay. When I went back to get my cleaning, I asked Arturo, the hygienist if I needed the deep cleaning and he said no. So I asked him to get my money back before they did anything. Meanwhile the assistant with him said that I had to get the deep clean because I'd had one with them last time. I've only been to their office 3 times before this and not once did they ever clean my teeth. When I told them this, it's like they didn't believe me. I called my insurance company to have them tell this office that I did not have a co-pay for regular maintenance cleaning and that I can have up to 4 cleanings a year. Hugh twisted this around to insist that 3-4 cleanings a year meant that I needed the periodontal cleanings, not just your standard cleaning. I got very upset as they just wanted to charge me for something I neither wanted or needed, and he canceled my appointment right then and there. When I tried to speak to the dentist as I saw her there, they told me to leave after they refunded my money and threatened to call the cops on me. I talked to another patient and her mom out in the parking lot and was told that they have been overcharged and charged for services that they never received before and that after her daughter's treatments were finished that they would never go back. They are not registered with the BBB and have an F rating with them. I wish I had seen that before going there. My dentist that I saw was very nice and knowledgeable, but the front office people suck. I will never go to any of their offices again and do not recommend them to anyone. read more

The receptionist Kenia who made the appointment for me was very helpful in answering all my concerns! I told her that I did not have insurance but she told me not to worry. She helped me easily sign up with their "smile saver program". It was a quick and simple process that I didn't know they offered. I'm one of those people who never have a pleasant visit to the dentist, Absolute Dental did nothing to change that. The good - ample seating in the waiting area and this location is conveniently located in the same shopping center as Walmart, Ross, and Rhapsodielle (so I can reward myself with some retail therapy after braving the dentist.) The bad - the wait time is ridiculous. I was left unattended for 30 minutes at a time, where they left me watching a gory movie with people's limbs being chopped off. My hygienist also did not know what she was doing. She had trouble putting the heads of the cleaning instruments on and had to ask another hygienist what she was missing and how to work it. My dentist also said I had a very-very minuscule cavity and its best if they make the hole bigger to fill it and since it was very small I would not need anything for numbing it. I don't know, I just feel like they're trying to rip me by making holes in my mouth to get more money. My trip to the dentist took 2 hours all in all, I most likely won't be back. read more

I showed up for my 11 am appointment at 10:30, with my paperwork already filled out. I'm efficient like that. I expected to wait, since I was early. I did not expect to wait until 11:30. But, okay. The tech asked why I was there, got a very brief history, took an x-ray, and left. 10 minutes later, came back with the doctor, who's name I do not know, as she did not introduce herself. She asked why I was being seen today, and what wanted done. I told her I have a retained baby tooth, my right canine, and it finally came loose. I wanted it pulled, and wanted to know what my treatment options were after that. She agreed to pull the tooth, and offered me a referral to their ortho department (I went, and for god's sake, DON'T GO THERE EITHER!). I was out of the office by 12:30, missing a tooth, and with a referral in hand. So why am I unhappy? Long wait I have no idea who treated me The "Exam rooms" are open, and loud, I know exactly what kind of treatment my neighbors were getting Techs came in to ask the doctor questions about other patients, while she was pulling my tooth. I was told I had some infection going on around the tooth, but was offered no antibiotics, but she did offer me a prescription for ibuprofen. read more
