I always receive help when I need it and they're never bothered. One of my favorite employees is one of the cashiers, Azuka. She's always very sweet and personable. Every time I see her, she's wearing the cutest earrings and they always end up being a conversation piece with myself and other​ customers as well. I always end up laughing and walking away with a smile when I go to her line. The lady at self checkout, Dominique, (I believe her name is) is always a pleasure too. She's always full of positive energy and smiles, no matter the day I see her. They really have a good team full of different, bright personalities.

Tonight when I stopped in I was asked "How's your daughter?" (My heart was filled). Next, it's always clean and constantly maintained. I've never seen it messy and I go often. Now product: I can see how rotating stock could be annoying, but the basics are ALWAYS there and I'm always a sucker to try something new, and they always have something new and interesting. I've tried so many new things since they came to town. Then the piece we ALL care about: price, say whatever you want but I KNOW I get so much more for my dollar here. For instance I was in Napa and came across a wonderful Lil winery. Went in did a tasting and my friend that lived in Napa ended up joining their club... why do I tell this story? Because Grocery Outlet is selling their wine for WAY less than I paid from the winery! (See photo of Brendel Wine). Or, I love buying little snacks for work to share with my fellow VA hospital employees. I can buy so many fun treats, and I don't break the bank. (See photo assorted snacks I bought today). Again, IF you have your heart set on a specific item, you may be sad. But if you have the attitude of 'let's see what fun we find today' YOU'LL LOVE THIS PLACE. As someone who enjoys wine, I was pleasantly surprised by their "Wine Wednesday" deals, offering 10% and sometimes even 20% off when buying six bottles. They also carry a solid selection of craft beers, which makes it even better. One thing to keep in mind is to always check expiration dates--this is part of how they keep prices so affordable. The management and checkout staff are consistently friendly, which makes shopping there even more enjoyable. Needless to say, I find myself there almost every Wednesday!

As someone who grew up in the SF Bay Area, where Filipino markets and restaurants are as common as any other Asian grocery store, moving to Moreno Valley was definitely an adjustment. When you're used to having places like Seafood City just around the corner, realizing the nearest Seafood City or Ranch 99 is about 30 minutes away is a real culture shock! That's why I was so excited to find this hidden gem only 10 minutes from my home. Sure, the aisles are narrow, but honestly, it reminds me of the small neighborhood markets back in the Philippines. It adds to the charm and makes the shopping experience feel authentic. You know you've found a good local mom and pop Filipino market when within seconds of walking through the door you spot balut, homemade ensaymada, a fish fry counter, and shelves stocked with traditional Filipino brands in the kind of variety you normally only see at Seafood City. They carry many of the staples and specialty items that can be hard to find in the Inland Empire. Sure, the fish fry isn't as crispy as like the big markets, but hey that's just one thing that i won't fault this place entirely for! For Filipinos missing a taste of home--or anyone wanting to explore Filipino food and culture--this place is absolutely worth the visit. I'm grateful to have found a little piece of the motherland so close to home.
