The Phillips 66 functioned as a gas station until 1964, when sporting good and air gunsmith company B&B Supply purchased the building and opened its doors. B&B supply operated for 50 years. In 2014, the building went on the market and we saw its potential. It was a stand-alone build with high ceilings and brick walls - perfect for recording drums. Once we had the city's approval, we began gutting everything and turning the raw space into an acoustically-controlled and warm environment. It took months and months of work, but we were able to build the studio we always wanted.

The DJ I worked with (DJ Tyrone) suggested I ask for two hi packs (huge thigh-high 15'' speakers) with stands, and quarter inch cables. I called several days before to make the reservation. They just asked for my name, contact information, and credit card number. The next day, I picked them up. Below is the breakdown of the costs: -Speakers: $60 each. (You should get at least two.) -50 Ft Quarter-Inch Cables: $2 each. -Stands: $5 each. -Wireless Mic And Accessories: $37 Regarding their staff, they're very knowledgeable and friendly. They answered every question I had without any eye rolling or hesitation. The only thing EMI Audio could improve upon is getting better speaker stands. The speakers did not snuggly fit into the holes, and considering that they are worth almost up to a couple grand, they should rest on something a bit more secure. Other than that minor complaint, I would definitely use EMI Audio again in the future!

We got married on a riverboat in Saint Paul and the Dap Squad made the day unforgettable! Many people said it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to because of how amazing and fun our live band was. I even had a friend say that she's only going to weddings with live bands from now on. Due to being on a boat, they needed a little extra time for set up and tear down. Our venue was great about being flexible with times and the Dap Squad worked quickly and efficiently. They play a variety of music and we were able to work with them on the type of live music we wanted to hear. They even learned our first dance, mother & son, and father & daughter dances for us! This is how good the Dap Squad is if you're still not sure about booking them for your future event: my dad does NOT dance. He was extremely nervous about the father daughter dance but once the band started playing and our guests were smiling, my dad had a blast! It was one of his favorite moments of the night. I have a lot of money (well, not really) and I am genuinely in the market for... music stuff. Groth Music has guitars, but guitar is not its primary focus. Instead, Groth is the spot to go to when you want to find sheet music. I think there's still a lot of value in this despite e-commerce. A lot of times, the quality of sheet music isn't clear, especially for pop music. It's very useful to be able to look at the pages for yourself. I'm rating Groth 3 stars because no employee felt like greeting me. I was especially disappointed that the guy in the guitar section simply sat at his desk without even trying to engage me at all. He semi-grumpily said "let me know if you have any questions." I genuinely could've bought something, even a guitar, if he took the second to chat with me like many local music shop workers often do. Instead, I got Guitar Center-level service.

I drove across town with the guitar and went inside. I stood by the counter and two or three employees walked by me without saying a word. Nate was there but he was talking to a different customer; he never even acknowledged my presence. Another longtime employee was at the counter and ignored me. I stood there about five minutes when a really nice employee helped me. He interrupted Nate to ask about my guitar and Nate said without even looking at me, even though I was 6 feet away, "I'm with a buyer, so not today." It was super demeaning. It made me feel small. The nice employee was apologetic and said, Nate makes those decisions, and that he was sorry. I told him that I did call first and was told to come down.I think he was embarrassed too. I have bought and sold several guitars and pieces of equipment at Willie's. Never again.

We rented an alto sax and the nicest guy ever explained what my son would need. When you rent an instrument for the school year, you pay in full up front. The guy made it clear that you won't pay a penalty if it's past the May deadline because schools have end of the year concerts etc. Near the end of the year we got a card in the mail telling us if we paid for next years rental we could keep the instrument over the summer for free. We did that. Also, a rental includes a yearly "tune up". While the sax was in the shop, our son announced he needed it TODAY for school. Of course. I called the store and talked to the woman who was repairing it. "Oh I'm working on it now, I could have it for you in 20 mins." Perfect

I needed a thoughtful, affordable local business that I could trust to get my small VHS camcorder cassettes digitally transferred in fairly quick manner. He reviewed each tape with me and then had them done fast - with a smile. Dennis offered the ability to put them on a nicely formatted DVD and/or simply load them onto my flash drive - which for me was a very convenient option. I picked them up and was able to begin editing and viewing old footage on my laptop immediately with the video software that came standard with my Windows PC. Getting this done was so worth it. I plan to go back with more tapes soon.
