However, the process of obtaining a quote was indeed as easy as Zen Windows website makes it out to be; check out their website and watch the videos. I completed their form with the number of windows, approximate size and the requirement that the windows must meet a minimum efficiency. A reply was quick and thorough and above all easily understood and answers to questions were immediate. Dennis provided all the information needed should a permit have been required. Once accepted, Kevin came out within a few days to take specific measurements needed for ordering the windows. Within just over a month, we received a call asking if the installation could take place within 48 hours as they had an opening. Ed, Jimmy and Daryl were the installation crew who arrived promptly and you could not ask for a more conscientious and professional team. They seemed to get along and worked well with each other. Care was taken to protect floors and carpet, the installation and operation of the windows was explained, and clean up was meticulous. I had planned to shampoo my carpets after they were finished and Daryl did such a good job of cleaning up the floors I did not have to vacuum first! We had 6 windows replaced and opted for the Endure EN600 series double hung, Energy Star Certified windows. These windows were installed on a warm day in rooms that get the afternoon sun and it was immediately apparent that the sun gain was much lower than the previous windows. The wind is gusting today and there are no drafts! The total cost was a bit above some of the other estimates but after our previous experiences as well as the ease of the ordering process, the personable and professional installers- much less the quality of the windows- it has been well worth it.

They were incredibly professional, communication was excellent, and the windows are made right here in the USA! The cost was much lower than other companies in the area because they don't contract their work out, they don't have to pay a salesman commission, etc. The installers brought in drop cloths to protect my floors while pulling out the old windows. They worked very efficiently (keep in mind it's December), and they put the new windows up as quickly as possible so as not to have a gaping hole to let all the heat out. I got prairie grids in all my front windows, which are gorgeous! I also got Solar screens installed which help to block out the heat in the summer before it ever hits your windows which equals major efficiency. They are full screens with double hung windows; I can pull the windows down from the top and not have to worry about rain (where I have an overhang). We got a frosted type of glass in our bathroom and no longer have to keep blinds up that will get nasty due to the humidity. Just couldn't be happier with everything! This amount would not be applied to cost of window replacement. We made a date for them to come and a no show. So I guess they wanted to paid before on site. I have brought a whole house of window replacement before and this is how they treat old customers. I guess one window is enough for them to come out and see. Even with today cost going up. I got another window replacement cost over $5,000. I guess Wilke's britches are gotten too big. I'm really disappointed.

We spoke to a different company first that offered microfiber windows, for all the windows and doors we have in the house, that would cost us almost $100k. We simply can't justify that kind of cost on windows and feel the return on investment doesn't make any sense, so we talked to Universal Windows. Their windows are vinyl and therefore cheaper and a lot more manageable. At the end, the cost was about 1/2 of the other company and we are happy with the quality and installation. Their windows are beautiful and easy to operate. Granted they are new and time will tell, but so far so good.
