Doctor Craig should be aware of how patients are being treated by the front office…read more I had an extremely unpleasant experience with Angie while trying to resolve an issue regarding my Cigna insurance and the covered alternatives to Suflave. I was simply trying to explain that my insurance covers an alternative prep solution and that I wanted to use the option covered by my plan. Instead of allowing me to explain, Angie repeatedly spoke over me. I politely asked her to please let me finish speaking, but she continued interrupting me. The call then disconnected. About a minute later, she called back and stated that the call had been disconnected accidentally. However, when I called back and identified myself and said I wanted to cancel both of my procedures because of how I had just been treated, the call was disconnected again. This entire situation was completely unnecessary. Patients pay for health insurance for a reason. If Cigna approves a covered alternative to Suflave, I should be able to discuss that option with the office without feeling pressured to purchase the prep solution sold directly through the office or being given a difficult time for wanting to use the medication covered by my insurance. What makes this even more disappointing is that I was only about a week away from my procedure, and I had not received an appropriate follow-up regarding these details. Instead, I ended up dealing with this type of treatment from the front office. I do want to recognize Sherma, the office manager, who was sweet, professional, and kind when I spoke with her. Unfortunately, that positive interaction was overshadowed by everything that followed. I ultimately canceled both procedures. No patient should have to argue simply to use an insurance-covered medication, and no patient should be spoken over or treated disrespectfully when asking a legitimate question about their care and insurance coverage. After this experience, I will be taking my care elsewhere. I sincerely hope Doctor Craig reviews how these situations are being handled by the front office because the way patients are treated by staff reflects on the entire practice.

I've lost count of how many Colonoscopy's and Endoscopy's I've had over the years. Tried and failed with too many drugs to count. You see I have Crohn's Disease. I'll spare you all the details of Crohn's, (you can look it up if interested) other than to say It is one of the diseases of IBD, Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Not to be confused with IBS, Irritable Bowel Syndrome. (although at times they have similar symptoms) Enter Dr Eric Weston. On the recommendation of a coworker and friend I went to see Dr Weston. Thankfully under his care I've been relatively in remission for going on two years. One is never cured of this chronic disease, remissions are the best we can hope for. Through his meticulous and thoughtful practice, he has brought me back from hopelessness of ever getting help with this condition. Dr Weston is very thorough with his exams, and takes the time to talk and explain each course of action that he recommends. I've never felt rushed by him or his staff even though I'm usually one of his last patients of the day. As anyone knows who has to deal with doctors offices, the staff are the back bone of any medical practice. His medical assistants Savannah and Nicole are top shelf, and always get back with me the same day any time I've called them. So why write a review for a doctor? Yelp was started by folks looking for a dentist. So if you're looking for an excellent gastroenterologist, I highly recommend Dr Eric Weston.

Got here in plenty of time for 0830 appointment to encounter a pleasant front desk staff. They took…read moremy paperwork and within five minutes I was taken back to be entered into their system. Pleasant lady (Karen?) asked me for the remainders of my medical history, etc. She made me feel quite at ease as we did all the preliminaries for a new patient. etc. So I was seated in exam room all ready to go by 0825; pretty quick for a specialist's office!!! Dr. Beljic entered the exam room very soon after that. He went over my family and personal medical history with me quite efficiently as he typed away. He seems to have a great "bedside manner," and was very thorough in explaining everything. Dr. Beljic is one of a few doctors at this practice, along with a couple of nurse practitioners. Soon after Dr. B finished with me, he sent me back to make sure I get scheduled for the procedure I need. That was quick since he downloaded all my info to the front desk at what seemed like lightning speed. I did this with Shannon, the scheduling coordinator. Yet another pleasant, efficient and caring soul! She was very good at explaining all of what I needed to do. She was very thorough in going over my particulars to ensure I was set up properly without any hiccups. Yet it was just a few short minutes and I was done! I walked out of the office and went on my way by 0855! Considering this was my first visit with an 0830 appointment time...holy cow! It helps that I downloaded all the forms I needed from their website and filled 'em out ahead of time. I'm also gonna guess that since I had an early appointment (they open at 0800) I was ahead of the curve too. Either way, I was very pleasantly surprised by how fantastic and efficiently this practice seems to run. Having GI issues can certainly be embarrassing (I know they ain't any fun), but these folks put me at ease in no time flat. If it's at all humanly possible to have a good doctor's office visit, then I surely had one. If you have a cranky colon, dismal duodenum, spasmodic small intestine or other such maladies, then I lucked out with the referral I received from my general practitioner (thanks Melissa)...BTW: make sure you have your referral squared away. Have your ID plus your insurance in order and with you too. They sent me a few emails and called me a couple days out with my reminders and so on. You're also encouraged to set yourself up electronically with "Healow," which is a medical app. I already have it through my general practitioner, but quite frankly it's one of the clunkiest sites I've ever had the occasion to encounter. Sometimes old school is better...

Dr Moenning had me sit on this device and then did an examination on the table and after a talk ( a good talk about diet, meds etc ), Dr Moenning announced that in his opinion there was something wrong other than what I had come in for ( hemmoroids ) and made it sound like it could be something attached to my spine or other part of my body. I didn't take it seriously at that time which was a big mistake on my part. Here I am 1 1/2 years later, 7 treatments under anestisia with one guy in port charlotte and another in venice and finally as neither one of these experts even had an opinion, I went to a world renowned hospital where they, after a barrage of tests concluded that I may have pelvic floor disorder and absolutely not hemeroids. Had I just listened to Dr Moenning to begin with, I probably would have been able to avoid most if not all of the.........expertice these local port charlotte/venice docs bestowed on me . If Dr Moenning tells you something.......don't be like I was, listen and follow his directions. He knows what he is talking about. I wish I was close enough to see him but if you are anywhere near him, you should strongly consider seeing him for your medical issues.
