I have been coming to the Dallas location for 3 years... Got to my desired weight then maintained it until about 8 months ago... Started trying on swim suits and kinda wanted to cry... Lol. I had been through a super crazy few months and just forgot what was aiding me in my weight loss and then it hit me... I was referred to Dr. Ruby Shah because of lymphedemia and high weight. As I had tried a number of programs, including weight watchers (where I gained weight!), I was skeptical. But, Dr. Shah and all the staff have been incredibly supportive and helpful. As a result, I've lost over 50 lbs and am looking to lose another 50 in the next six months. Today was my initial visit to the Dallas office. I had called last week and spoke to Sandy. She explained the program to me and scheduled my appointment by phone. I felt uneasy paying online and she said it was OK to pay by cash or credit card at my first visit. I arrived 15 minutes early and used that time to fill out the normal new patient forms. Sandy was there and went over the process again. She is absolutely great - made me feel very comfortable and at ease. Assistant took my vitals and went over my info. I saw the doctor on time. He went over my medications and health history, answered any questions I had, explained how he wanted me to take the medication, and told me what I could more or less expect. As I left, Sandy copied the prescription, again went over the self reporting and prescription renewal process, and told me to call her if I had any questions or needed help. I met with Dr.Kurup in the Fort Worth office and I'm so glad I did. I did tons of research in search of a medical weight loss program and this one is by far the best. You meet the Dr face to face initially, then do monthly progress notes online. After the progress notes he calls in your refills. Which is great since I live a ways from DFW. Dr.Kurup is very nice, answers questions and personally follows up with you. Plus compared to other medical weight loss programs it's more than half the initial and monthly cost for the exact same service that requires you go every month. That was a HUGE selling point for me. The program is exactly as stated. You pay the initial fee, set up the appointment for the location of your choice and meet the Dr who does an assessment and gives you the prescription with instructions for the medication. Absolutely Thin has a great set up that is very user friendly. They make it as convenient as possible for the patient. First, you register on line and make your initial payment of $100. Then you choose the location ( I chose the Arlington location ) and set your appointment time. I was able to choose from available times on line, which was easy. My only hold up was finding the office in Arlington. It wasn't clearly marked and I was a little confused about where to go, but later found it does have helpful directions on their website. The initial appointment with Dr. Kurup was quick and easy. He is very pleasant and knowledgeable. Monthly follow ups are done on the website, which makes it very convenient; rather than having to make a trip to the office every month! The Irving location is wonderful and so convenient for a mother of three. There was no wait time and the building was clean and updated. I was seen the following day after sign up with Dr. Kurup. The office is open Wednesday and Saturday so I thought I'd have to wait at least a month but they are very accommodating. He made the process easy and comfortable. No one enjoys talking honestly about their body image but he was understanding and helpful answering questions. I am grateful to Dr. Branch and his office staff. They have been informative and gave me realistic expectations of weight loss. Dr. Branch explained to me how fast foods and "junk foods" contributed to my hunger state. He suggested using a phone app for added accountability and insight as to my food habits along with exercise. (The medication helps suppress my hunger and gives me a chance to develop healthy eating habits and an exercise routine). My goal is to lose about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds a week and I'm right on course. Terrible customer service. 2 days ago I called to find out where my prescription had been called into because the pharmacy doesn't have it. The woman that answered - Autumn - was extremely rude. Shortly thereafter, I emailed. Historically (I've been a patient here over 4 years...) they're pretty decent on email. No responses except the automated ones. So I called again. This time, the same woman (Autumn) hung up in my face when I asked for the manager's email. Y'all can't be serious? Like. To not just a customer. But a loyal one at that.
