They explain from start to finish on how cryo works so you're always in the loop of what's going on. They have great specials and I love that it's $25 everytime. Always call ahead to see if they have openings, and ask about specials too for packages. I feel that this is one of the more affordable cryo places that I've been to. After Cryo treatment you have the option to massage out your legs with vibrating foam roller or ball. Great everyday price for the treatments. I'm not surprised this place has 5 stars. The owner is a genuinely good man!!! He's super tall. You'd think he was a former basketball player. The first time I came here he was closing in 20 minutes but he stayed open an extra HOUR just to help me. He was super kind to me and my son. I was in a lot of pain and he let me use his light therapy pad for my knee pain & then I did the Cryo. Omg! It's cold lol but it feels so good afterwards to be in less pain and for some reason I feel energized right afterwards. That part is my favorite. So you're a cryo-skeptic? I am. I need to understand the science behind it to really understand how this stuff works. Effectively, you're giving yourself an ice bath, but without the water. The data on whether ice baths actually help is inconclusive, so if you're using this as part of your regular training regimen, it's hard to say if it's actually helping since there are so many factors that can't be controlled. I had a volleyball injury and it's left me with a lot of pain. I have a high pain tolerance, higher than most people and even this gets to the point where I am praying, literally, for some relief. Sometimes extra strength acetaminophen isn't enough and I reach for some hydrocodone that I had left after getting a dental implant. So the wife was doing some research online to see if I could get some relief from sports massage and stumbled upon this Groupon. Basically, $20 for a single treatment of Cry-boost which is supposed to help reduce pain and increase circulation and speed recovery. So at this point, I'm ready to try anything and I've seen this on TV so why not give it a try. First off, the day I went, they were busy. They had every NormaTec going and people waiting for it. There was only one guy working that day and he was on the move the whole time. I showed up at my appointment time and waited around for about 30 minutes before he was able to get me in the machine. You'll strip down to your underwear (they suggest guys wear a jock strap so you get the most exposure to the cold) and put on winter gloves, socks and a pair of house slippers and then jump in the machine. Then the guy comes in, turns on the machine and you get turned into a popsicle for a couple minutes. I'm not going to lie, it was cold. Freezing, actually. The operator will walk you through the whole thing. He'll keep you somewhat distracted by small talk and you just kinda march in place and turn slowly like a pig on a spit until it's done. Then you get out, get dressed, pay and you're done. So my final thoughts: I don't know if it did anything. I have been slowly getting better each day. It's been about a month since my injury and I still have pain in my hip, glute and shin. I'm taking muscle relaxers and 500mg of acetaminophin and only recently have I been able to get through a day without them. The day before cryo-boost and the day after were pretty much the same. I can't say that I noticed any improvement. After cryo-boost, it felt like it took about an hour before the tingling sensation of the cryo-boost wore off and that was all it was, a cryo-induced numbness and that's it. The pain wasn't reduced and healing didn't seem to be affected. It was worth a try, but I don't think it did anything for me. Your mileage may vary. Update 2/8/17: On 6/22/16, I had back surgery for a L4-5 herniated disc. It's unlikely that Cryoboost would have done anything but again, like I said, it was worth a shot since we didn't know at the time. read more
