Dimitar and the crew from Abstract Windows did a great job installing three windows and three sliding glass doors in our townhouse. Dimitar came over a few weeks before the job to look at everything and answer our questions. He also came one day during the installation to see how it was going. One of the original doors was wider than it needed to be, so we ordered a smaller door and the team built up a wall on both sides. We have a patio outside this door, and it had to be taken apart for the door installation. Another crew came yesterday to rebuild the patio, and made sure to caulk and add a moisture barrier. The living room window that was replaced was narrow, and a second Dimitar and the crew made sure the top of the window lined up with the top of the door. The kitchen windows needed a scaffold to be reached, and Abstract Windows supplied it. The crew laid down tarps in the house and did a great job cleaning up at the end of the day. We really appreciate their professionalism and care! Eventually we plan to replace our bedroom windows and would definitely use Abstract Windows again. read more

Abstract Windows came today to replace a window with a wooden shelf that had start rotting in the shower, and they were amazing! They had come over earlier to take a look and measure the window, and we placed an order in advance with deposit (pricing was very reasonable). So today everything was fully taken care of, all we had to do was wait. They laid down material from the front door to the bathroom to protect our floors, and went to work like the experienced professionals they are. I believe there was some custom work that needed to be done but they did it right there at their truck on site. The entire job took just 2 hours, which was exactly what was estimated. The window looks fabulous and it even had some useful features we didn't know about. Dimitar walked us through step-by-step how to use the window and let us know how much time before we could use the shower. As a bonus, he also gave us a tip on what silicone caulk to use for our bathtub - thanks Dimitar! It turned out that they did really nice job. First, we particularly like his team arrived on time and finished the job in high quality. Secondly, when they found the window in living room has a minor problem (The window is in locked position, but the handle bar did not show it is locked). They perfected the double seal on both sides of the window, they foam spray to fill in the empty space between window and newly installed trims. Installed the protective flashing film around entire window. They pay attention to the aesthetic look of the trim. Seamless to the eye the way the trim blends in with the window. I have had problems off and on with leaking windows and I needed some expert advice. I really appreciated how Dimitar quizzed me on the problem over the phone. He seemed to want to get to the root of the problem. Once he had a good idea of the issue, he set the appointment. (Most other companies I contacted just wanted to send a salesperson...they did not try to diagnose the issue first). Dimitar came to my house right on time. I am a designer and I have worked with many contractors at work. This company is my favorite window install company because the crew is professional, fast, and their price is competitive. They installed six windows for my house one year ago. Three of the six are at large size of 110" x 48" on the second floors. They installed scaffolds. All installation jobs were done in a day and their stucco team come back for the patching. Later we had a crack on the wall. I called the owner Dimiter. He responded promptly and came to my place on the second day and we found out it is not caused by the windows. And he filled a small crack between the window and the trim. Dimitar is very experienced and responsive. I contacted him about the leak in one of the windows and he picked up the phone immediately every time. He also is very professional and helpful. Instead of pushing me to replace the window, he offered to come to my house to look at the windows. He also offered me alternative option. After some major remodeling work, I found out that the new windows and sliding doors that were installed were leaking! I had many problems with the contractor, so I didn't want to use him again. Instead, I called Abstract Windows on recommendation by my handyman. I had them replace the windows and doors that were leaking, as well as three other windows in the house. I'm very grateful for the work they did. I'm not very experienced with contractors/construction, but I can say after dealing with the bad contractor I had, it was like light from heaven working with Dmitar, as well as his partner also named Dmitar, and his crew. Dmitar is an excellent communicator which often will avoid problems down the road. I found Dmitar's work ethic to be impeccable. Their attention to even the smallest details reflects a commitment to pride of work, which is rare nowadays. The new windows and doors were installed flawlessly and the work areas were clean and free of debris. (Dmitar #2 even refused to put some minor trash in my garbage can which I offered him to do, instead insisting on taking it with him!) Regarding pricing, I didn't shop around that much, but I believe Dmitar offers a fair price and a fair profit for himself. They are certified by Anderson and other window manufacturers and have all the necessary licenses, insurance and bonding to bring peace of mind. My home is built on landfill in the Foster City area, so there has been a fair amount of settling over the years making it challenging for projects like this since there are no 90 degree corners and straight level walls in the house. They had to work into the evening on a Saturday, no less and then returned on Sunday morning to finish the job, as the storm door ended up being very difficult to fit. The retrofit of the new bay to the overhead eaves and house lines looks like it was originally planned that way. Needless to say, they did the job of a perfectionist and would not relent until it was right and looking like new. We recently had our windows replaced - new construction windows. I was contemplating which contractor to call around the Bay Area. There are so many to choose from. I called a couple contractors and got the estimates and was taking time deciding on which to go with. I was driving down the street from my house one day and saw two houses being worked on at the same time, one had the front sidings replaced, and the other the had the windows replaced. I stopped to asked if they could swing by my house to give me an estimate since I had nothing to lose. That was when I met the owner of Abstract Windows, Dimitar Georgiev. Dimitar, Demitri, and their crew just installed 11 Marvin Integrity Wood-Ultrex windows (8 new construction, 3 retrofit) and they did an outstanding job! I had received 4 other bids and his quote was by far the best bang for the buck. These guys arrived early, worked hard, and were professional, clean, and precise throughout the process. They needed no oversight from me whatsoever. Dimitar and Demitri consulted with me about trim size, materials, style options, or anything else a homeowner would want to weigh in on. One of my windows was inside the shower and trimmed with tile. I thought for sure I'd have to hire a handyman later to trim it out properly. Nope, these guys cut the tile and caulked it properly and beautifully. Another window unfortunately had dry rot surrounding it. Dimitar pre-cut the redwood trim for my contractor to put in later and gave me a stucco repair consultation. Lastly, he offered free of charge some sash-lift handles for my double hung windows that we're not included with my window purchase. Home repair is always a nerve wracking experience and you want to know your money is put to good use, as was in this case. I would highly recommend Abstract Windows and would use them again!
