We had two sets of sliding doors installed from Cal Coast, and they were fantastic from beginning to end. The work took two days to complete and I was so impressed with the installers, they were very friendly and professional. They kept noise and disruption to a minimum as much as they could, and everything was left perfectly when they finished up. The cost of the doors themselves was more reasonable than any other company we contacted (and some didn't even get back to us), and it included parts/labor and warranty so it was definitely worth the money. We replaced one door and one window in our home with a Marvin Elevate door & Marvin Essential window and couldn't be happier. The room is neater, quieter, less drafty and the light quality is significantly better. Our old aluminum bay window from the 70s had permanent condensation and drafts. Our door had a single pane of glass, locking problems and was so drafty. We wanted to replace our windows with a slim, clean aesthetic in keeping with our mid century ranch home style and wanted a robust product also. After discussing options with Sal and visiting the showroom, we opted for fiberglass products from Marvin. We also wanted to avoid heavy-looking trim and requested that our stucco come right up to the window frame. The framing work and stucco repair quality was excellent. The crew were on time and the workmanship was top quality. We got exactly what we wanted with Cal Coast and saved a few thousand dollars compared to Andersen. Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Our sales rep JT must've spent 30 plus hours getting me the glass area numbers, soundproofing numbers, samples, installation details and pricing. The order came in when he said it would, and the installation team did impeccable work. In one case, they had to tear out and replace some dry rot around a window, but did so at what I considered a reasonable price. (It becomes a game of chicken at that point, because the customer can either accept the on-the-spot bid or..... hire another contractor to bring their own scaffold?) Anyway, everything just looks perfect. Incidentally, Cal Coast was not the lowest bid we received, but they were by far the most responsive company and I was more than happy to pay the 10-20% price difference for this level of service. With windows, you really don't want to cut corners, as you could spend eternity addressing waterproofing or detail issues. For the curious about what we got: while we were initially leaning towards fiberglass windows, ultimately we went with Milgard vinyl because the modern options offer equally good thermal performance and soundproofing vs fiberglass, and much better durability than yesteryear's vinyl. JT said we probably didn't need the sound package windows but after I saw an STC rating improvement of 5 points on them I said hell yes. read more

We recently engaged Cal Coast to replace 12 windows, most of which were very large floor-to-ceiling panes. Overall, the project went very well: the price was fair, the service was great, we're happy with the results, and I would definitely hire them again. Sal was great helping us figure out where we could go with insulated glass and where needed to be new construction. A couple adjustments had to be made after crews came out for exact measurements, but that is expected. They also took care of the permit process, which was a huge help. For the install, Juanito and crew were amazing. They are experts and Juanito went above and beyond with his clear explanations and figuring out fixes and workarounds for tricky aspects of the installation. Very respectful of our home. The only hiccup was that we didn't realize the extent to which the necessary framing on the new construction windows would impact the exterior aesthetic (larger trim and some unanticipated impacts to the siding). In the end, Sal was able to work with us and we found a decent compromise with a reasonable change order. read more

I'm not a fan of Yelp. I think people mostly use it to complain. For a contracting company to get a 4.9 rating they must be doing something right and these cats certainly are. Cal Coast Windows is my go to for full "new construction" window replacement. They are transparent on pricing, easy to work with and stand by their work. I have a house built in 1980 that is not close to square or level anymore. Their crews do what ever it takes to get the windows installed correctly. I have had them swap out an undersized sliding door for beautiful french door and they have replaced a full size sliding door for me. Cal Coast does not paint and all my casings needed to be replaced fresh. The last crew rearranged their schedule and brought the new wood for casings over early so I could paint them before they installed them. So very helpful. I highly recommend these guys read more

Cal Coast was incredibly easy to work with and did an exceptional job on my project. David was very responsive and provided thoughtful answers when working out the details of the quote. They came out to confirm measurements prior to ordering the doors, provided a realistic timeframe for delivery, and were very flexible when scheduling the work. My project consisted of removing an existing garage door and replacing with exterior swing out french doors. David recommended Provia french doors and I was instantly sold on the security features including multi point locking system, non-removable hinges, top and bottom bolts for the inactive doors, and the door panels generally being built like tanks. The Daniels completed the installation in two days and went above and beyond expectations. In addition to fitting the door into an irregular opening, they installed dry wall along the entire interior frame and stucco along the exterior frame. Daniel also fabricated a sheet metal awning to sit above the door to prevent water intrusion. All in all, an incredible experience and I am already planning another project with them. read more

I was told ProVia was "the door," I should get, and was given a ProVia catalog to peruse and told to call as soon as I had chosen something and they would be happy to get my order going. By doing some research I found that ProVia doors are beautiful but super expensive...outside our budget and not necessary for our need. Also, due to dry rot and a preexisting leak, some significant stucco work involving removing stucco on an entire two story side of the house down to the studs, new insulation/plywood and stucco.
