This place lost track of their focus very quickly. The food quality and service took a nose dive real quickly. My worst review of the year.

Fantastically fresh food that's family-friendly…read more Food: Had a couple of dishes to share, starting with the garden salad that was very fresh and cool, perfect for a home summer day yet with a hint of sweetness that made it bright and vibrant. The hummus with mushroom was also very unique, it tasted very earthy and balanced the pita very well, providing some chew and meatiness to the dish. The pide was also very nice and crispy, and you can taste each ingredient separately on the pide yet it all melds together with the fragrant spices combine it all. Service: There was plenty of seating available in the restaurant, and the people were all very friendly. As it was our first time, the server helped provide some recommendations and walked us through some favourites on the menu. Atmosphere: The place was a nice and clean, but nothing spectacular in terms of design. Seats were comfortable enough, although the tables were fairly close together.

There is construction on 400 so it can be tricky to get here. You might have to go one exit passed Steeles and come back but it's worth it. Because of the time I went , there was only on other person in the dining room. You can see back into the kitchen. I like that be because the dining room usually smells pretty good. The server was from Turkey and he had a bit of an accent which made me think the food would be a little more authentic. On the recommendation of the server I got the Cokertme Kebab. It doesn't quite look like it does in the menu picture but it was really good. The beef strips were well seasoned and tender. The yogurt complimented the beef very well and the chips added good texture. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Moist, fresh and flavourful on the inside and crispy on the outside; exactly how a good falafel should be. (7 $) We also tried their oven baked salmon entree. It was very bland, not seasoned well and a little rare. It came with parisienne potatoes with were bland too(no salt/pepper; just seasoned with garlic and dill) as was the salad which was served with the entree. (22 $) Wife had a caeser salad for lunch. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. The parmesan was generous and flavourful but the salad lacked the dressing and tasted a little bland as rest of the meal. (10 $) The tea however was very nice. It was orange pekoe tea bag, served with mint leaves and a cinnamon stick. We'll definitely try this at home. (1.50 $ each) The restaurant is located in the industrial area, in the middle of nowhere. If it weren't for the groupon we wouldn't have ventured in the area. It was lunch hour and we were the only two customers there, which was very unusual considering this is located in an area where there are companies/offices all around. I think the price of the food might have to do something with it. The food was pretty pricey for everyday office lunch. These kind of prices would have only made sense in the financial district. There was a stage there. It seemed that there would be music performance during the weekends/evenings. Wish them all the best as they are new and still discovering themselves. Would love to see them succeed and be able to draw crowd to the location. Cheers!

Replacing the original Dr. Laffa location the owners did some serious upgrades to both decor and menu. The food here is quite good. A different season for every dish from most of the other places in the area. I enjoyed 3 of the classic dishes. Falafel Plate which was crunchy on the outside and came with a nice Dip. The Chicken sandwich was the large portion which was great to share and was very filling. The hummus ful was a meal on its own. These 3 plates 2 guys could not put it all down and was a reasonable $30 for a sit down lunch. With a full menu and even kids options at $10 I see some great success as word will spread. The place is run by a gentleman and his family with deep care and passion for what they do, and they will happily share with you that absolutely everything is made fresh and 100% in-house, from their mouth-watering meat marinades to all of their incredible, tasty, sauces- it is all bursting with freshness and love. I love absolutely everything I've ever had, but the spicy waziri remains my favourite and my go-to, along with their magical lentil soup, which is unlike any other lentil soup I've had! The dishes all come together perfectly, their rice is like no other rice I've had- not a bland plain white rice, but instead a very flavourful one, which clearly lots of care and preparation goes into. Paired with the salad, the protein of your choice, and then those amazing sauces, it all comes together perfectly- I'm drooling just thinking about it now, and can't wait to go back! And everyone I've taken here has been blown-away by the amazing quality of food, from the diverse and special flavours to the perfect cook. But beyond the amazing food, the people who run it, from the family who owns it to the employees, are all amazing souls who I am always happy to see. You cannot do any wrong ordering anything from Dormet, from the shawarma special to their biriyani special, to the tandoori and butter chickens, to that incredible lentil/barley soup (which is spiced amazingly), to their awesome samosas, and of course my favourite dish, the spicy waziri, and then for desert their incredible rice pudding. I love this place, and cannot get enough of it. I should also note it is extremely clean in there- they take great care to keep it clean and hygienic, more than any other restaurant I've been to.

It is in a plaza in the middle of nowhere. There are a lot of construction workers who come here for food. The food portion is huge, VERY HUGE. We ordered one pita for both of us, which was more than enough. Everyone there ordered a huge order. The owner was very friendly. It was our first time there. One pita comes with only one drink, but the owner gave us a drink for free and allowed us to sample some chicken before ordering. I don't think I will come back for the food again. This place is famous, I guess, because of the portions.
