The vibes are just right :) The girl I had an appointment with, Destinee, was running a bit behind (holidays, of course) but the experience was still great! When she was washing, treating and styling my hair, she made sure I knew what she was doing and why. I absolutely love when stylists do this! I have natural hair and got it pressed for the first time in years. Those with natural hair know how big of a deal this is! When I told her I do not want to come back in, especially since another hair stylist told me how unblended my hair was, she was just rude and continuously said "come in". The coloring was only supposed to be at the bottom of my hair, but it covered my whole head of hair. I stated I did not want the dye near my roots, due to not wanting to mess up the natural red hair I have, the dye went all the way up. Some streaks darker than others, was supposed to be a dark red but came out a dark brown, and the hair is shorter in the back than it is in the front.

She did my hair and makeup for an event I had this past Friday night and I have never felt so flawless and stunning in my whole life. She made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in the door and she also does eyelash extensions (which is the reason I initially contacted her) then once I realized that she can do the most perfect beachy curls I set up a last minute appointment with her to get my hair done before the event I was attending, when I discovered she does makeup too I instantly booked an appt with her to do that as well. So in addition to my hair, she also did my makeup (exactly how I asked, very natural looking and not too intense, with glue on lashes for a naturally effortless glam effect) as we sat there chatting she shared with me that not only is she a hair and makeup pro, she is an incredibly talented photographer too (don't just take my word for it, check out her photography Instagram--i put her ig accounts below)..this is a genius and the most unique business model I've ever heard of and I can't wait to spread to word to all my friends and family and to the Yelp community. For photo shoots, wether it is an engagement photo shoot, baby's newborn shots, one year old baby shots, family photos for holiday cards, graduation pictures, you name it--she has a special package where you arrive an hour early and she will do you hair and makeup ensuring you look and feel you best for your special photos...you don't have to worry about a thing because Leslee will make you look flawless and feel gorgeous--which will make your photos turn out even better because you only have to worry about smiling and enjoying yourself; because you will know without any doubt you look perfect due to Leslee's talents. I just had her style my hair but as I went through her Instagram dedicated to doing hair I realized she is a truly talented colorist as well as stylist. We have experimented with tons of color over the last 12 months. I am a brunette and unfortunately have lots of gray to cover. My base color is always spot on and he always come up with different highlights to sprinkle in to make things fun!! I'm always afraid of the blonde side of things, so he goes for the warm colors that work perfectly. I took a leap and decided to chop the back of my hair off at the end of last year. He suggested a style that kept the front longer than the back and I couldn't have loved it more! I've started growing it back out and plan on ordering a Halo from them within the next few months. My color is flawless and line free...a perfect transition/melting of colors! I found Yelp reviews on Donny and pictures of his hair designs, when he worked at Xander Blue Salon in Winter Park. After being told he no longer works there, I decided to do a Google search and found his Facebook page Hair by Donny Dinh where I was please to find his phone number and that he is now at Rock Gorgeous Hair. Donny is honest, sweet, sincere and EXTREMELY meticulous, so if you need color correction, cut or styling he is the one to see!! For color correction, expect to be there a few hours...I was there almost 7 hours and it was worth every minute. If you have a time constraint tell him upfront and he will give you an estimate but remember it's NOT his fault if it takes a long time to creat a custom color or correct the screw up you have on your head! What to expect: A stylist passionate about his work and pleasing his guests. Very limited parking is available in the back of the salon, expect to look for parking in the street or pay $5 at a nearby lot. Salon is small and not the most modern I've seen, but very clean which is more important than decor! Donny will do a VERY detailed consultation to get to know you and what you are looking for. Bring pictures so he has something to see...what you describe may not be what he imagines. This is the time to speak up about your wants, likes or dislikes. Cost for color correction will be on the high side but expect to pay less on additional visits. Buy a GOOD quality color protecting shampoo.
