He is in the Toddler "transition" room with other 11 - 18 mo olds who are beginning / able to walk but not confident independent walkers. The school continues to be accommodating of my vegetarian children and I am grateful that it's a nut free school because my daughter (in the class) has peanut and tree nut allergies. She has been attending this school, on and off, since late 2023 and loves it. There has been some staff turnover (which is not unusual for daycares) but many long term staff remain and are wonderful to her, as are her new teachers. As a working parent I love the live feed, which I can watch between meetings, and the daily updates with photos. It really helps with the separation. Joanna is still the Director and remains a wealth of knowledge. She continues to support our family by accommodating our schedule (we mostly attend school from May - Sept).

Our daughter felt safe and loved her time there. She was sad to start have to start kindergarten and leave! They really take the time to get to know your child and your family. Which I appreciated very much. Academically, I couldn't be happier. My daughter learned how to read, write, math (addition, multiplications, subtraction and even division!). They also have NAU professors come and teach the children about insects, bones, the weather... they also expose the children to essential practical life skills. They also learn about geography, different cultures around the world and their traditions. Fun field trips. Cooking lessons. This was the perfect start to my daughter's journey in education. I highly recommend it! We will miss this school.

They have been so sweet to us and our kiddos, as they grow. One of our babies is kind of... a curious destroyer. Elsa has just rolled with the punches, even as our kiddo tried to tear up the floor. She updates us every day on the new happenings (like a few days ago, how one of them pulled up to standing!) and is always coming up with new things for them to do and be interested in. And mainly I just feel really solid that they are in a loving, nurturing place that is helping them grow into sweet small humans. Even though it's a one hour drive, we are delighted to take her here to Flagstaff because she has discovered the love of learning again. She loves Latin, and Physics, and Advanced Geometry. Whereas in her old school they just offered "science " class. She now passionately knows what she wants to do as a profession ( although that could change). She is self motivated to learn study and get good grades now, because she has already picked out the Ivy League school that is best in her chosen field of Paleontology , and she knows it won't be easy to get in. She has a great group of friends who are all good influences on her, and she loves volleyball when the school offers it for girls.

The teacher attempted to fix his glasses but did not seek medical attention for him or notify me. CPS/DCS personnel were present at the school and also failed to ensure he received care or that I was informed. I only learned of the incident later that evening when my son told me what happened. A few days later, he developed a high fever that required medical attention. I asked if it could be related to a possible concussion from the impact, but no diagnosis was made. Fortunately, antibiotics were given to prevent infection. This shows a complete lack of common sense and duty of care.

I was a CFO of the pizza business, "Ellie's Pizza Party", in which we sold pizza to the Switzer campus to raise money for our annual San Juan River Trip, which taught me how to manage a business. We went on community connections to help our community, going-outs for fun, and immersions, to bond. And finally, we went on the end-of-year River Trip, where we bonded for four days and three nights on the river. Pine Forest follows the same Arizona state standards as every other public school. Waldorf education is deeply connected to nature and largely screen-free. I have a master's degree in educational technology and I love this balance.
