They are committed to each child's growth both academically and as a member of a larger community. It is clear to me every day that the teachers and administration sincerely love my family, and are always there to address any of my concerns or to celebrate my children's accomplishments. Since our move to Flagstaff and our enrollment in Flag Montessori, my kids have become passionate about learning. They have become better friends and citizens. I am watching them day by day grow into these amazing, confident, intelligent, caring young men. They sent home the sweetest little craft for Father's Day and seem to genuinely care for the little ones. He is in the Toddler "transition" room with other 11 - 18 mo olds who are beginning / able to walk but not confident independent walkers. The school continues to be accommodating of my vegetarian children and I am grateful that it's a nut free school because my daughter (in the class) has peanut and tree nut allergies. She has been attending this school, on and off, since late 2023 and loves it. There has been some staff turnover (which is not unusual for daycares) but many long term staff remain and are wonderful to her, as are her new teachers. As a working parent I love the live feed, which I can watch between meetings, and the daily updates with photos. It really helps with the separation. Joanna is still the Director and remains a wealth of knowledge. She continues to support our family by accommodating our schedule (we mostly attend school from May - Sept).

Our daughter has dietary restrictions and Joanna and staff sent the menu each week for us to mark what she could eat and allowed us to send in our own food. Our daughter felt safe and loved her time there. She was sad to start have to start kindergarten and leave! It was really nice having the ability to check the cameras and see what your child was doing real time on the app, as well as get updates throughout the day. We had no issues during our time there!

They keep parents updated with weekly notes and photos, provide thoughtful individualized care, and make learning fun through age-appropriate activities. We also love all the special events throughout the year--from pumpkin patches and water days to Donuts with Dad, Muffins with Mom, and the Christmas performance. The teachers are truly involved with the kids, the facility is clean and secure, and the administrative side is easy and well-managed. I've seen some reviews mention that Pine Forest's curriculum isn't as competitive as other public schools, but I completely disagree. Pine Forest follows the same Arizona state standards as every other public school. The difference lies in how those lessons are taught--through developmentally appropriate, hands-on experiences that help children truly understand what they're learning. Waldorf education is deeply connected to nature and largely screen-free. I have a master's degree in educational technology and I love this balance. Waldorf's emphasis on creativity and curiosity builds the essential foundations for success in technology and beyond. Children at Pine Forest aren't falling behind because of less screen time; they're developing the focus, imagination, and problem-solving skills needed to use technology responsibly and meaningfully when the time is right.

I know I am fully prepared for high school, my fist job, and many other challenges in life. I was a CFO of the pizza business, "Ellie's Pizza Party", in which we sold pizza to the Switzer campus to raise money for our annual San Juan River Trip, which taught me how to manage a business. We went on community connections to help our community, going-outs for fun, and immersions, to bond. And finally, we went on the end-of-year River Trip, where we bonded for four days and three nights on the river. Even though it's a one hour drive, we are delighted to take her here to Flagstaff because she has discovered the love of learning again. She loves Latin, and Physics, and Advanced Geometry. Whereas in her old school they just offered "science " class. She now passionately knows what she wants to do as a profession ( although that could change). She is self motivated to learn study and get good grades now, because she has already picked out the Ivy League school that is best in her chosen field of Paleontology , and she knows it won't be easy to get in. She has a great group of friends who are all good influences on her, and she loves volleyball when the school offers it for girls.

The teacher attempted to fix his glasses but did not seek medical attention for him or notify me. CPS/DCS personnel were present at the school and also failed to ensure he received care or that I was informed. I only learned of the incident later that evening when my son told me what happened. A few days later, he developed a high fever that required medical attention. I asked if it could be related to a possible concussion from the impact, but no diagnosis was made. Fortunately, antibiotics were given to prevent infection. This shows a complete lack of common sense and duty of care.

The church sits on top of a hill all by itself. Do not recall this church being here during our last visit to Flagstaff a couple of years ago. The layout of the church looks great. The parishioners were all friendly and welcoming. The priest was funny and gave a wonderful homily. If we lived in Flagstaff, then we would be parishioners here. Just beautiful.
