I have been staying at the AC Avenida de América (on and off) for the last 10 years, even before the AC Hotels chain joined Marriott. The Avenida de América is like many of the other AC hotels throughout Spain: a modern, nice, clean hotel that mostly caters to businessmen (and businesswomen) with many details that set these hotels apart. The AC hotels also have some very high-end properties, like the AC Santo Mauro, and others .
The rooms at this property are spacious, with wooden floors and Asian inspired accents. The green marble bathrooms are roomy, with all the amenities (if something you need is missing, ask for it; I have even got bath sponges!). The hotel is conveniently located near the Avenida de America Metro/Bus exchange, and three blocks away where there is a stop for bus #200,which will take you to/from the Barajas airport for a mere 2,60 Euros (you can also take the Metro to get to the hotel). Nearby is the posh Salamanca district, and there are many restaurants and cafeterias nearby (my favorite is Hontanares), as well as small supermarkets, dry cleaners and other types of businesses. The hotel offers breakfast and full lunch and dinner service, as well as Wi-Fi in the lobby and in the rooms. Every room has a mini bar refrigerator, which is nice because it has cold drinks and beer, which are replaced free of charge! Since it is part of the Marriott chain, you can get/use Marriott Rewards points for your stay, and if you have tier membership privileges, they will be honored, too. Highly recommended. read more
