I recently stayed at the AC Hotel Frisco. While the location and the staff are wonderful, the cleanliness of the facilities left a lot to be desired. Customer Service The front desk ladies were the highlight of the stay. They were extremely helpful and professional; when I reported an issue with my first room, they handled a room change immediately. The service here is truly top-tier. Cleanliness This was the most disappointing part of the stay. My first room had hair from a previous guest (both head and body hair) all over the shower floor. Plus, the microwave area on the third floor was dirty with food debris on the counters and floor. For a hotel at this price point, I expected a much higher standard of hygiene. The Mountain View from the hotel is absolutely stunning and definitely a major perk. If you love the outdoors, this is a great hub. Hiking: There are plenty of great trails nearby. Proximity: The town is only a 2-3 minute drive away, making it very convenient for dining and shopping. Amenities: The hotel has a nice outdoor fire pit and hot tub to enjoy the mountain air. Oh and they have an oxygen bar. Microwaves: The 3rd-floor microwave did not heat at all. I had to use the one on the 2nd floor, which worked perfectly. Parking: It is $10/day, and you must place the physical pass in your car after checking in. Fees/Food: There is a $60 incidental deposit (refundable). Note that breakfast is not included, so you'll want to bring your own food or head into town. Environment: There was a strange smell in the hallway near the elevators. Overall While the views are breathtaking and the staff is great, the lack of cleanliness in the bathrooms and common areas was a major letdown for me. read more

The Good: First off, the updates to this place are fantastic. What once was a Best Western looks like a whole new hotel. The renovations are lovely with a great lobby, bar, and outdoor patios with fireplaces. Perfect place to hang out after skiing all day. The outdoor hot tub is great. They also have an indoor pool. Location is perfect if you're hitting up the i70 ski resorts. Plus, they've set up ski storage in the basement, which was a super convenient touch. The breakfast is a nice European spread and very tasty, but be prepared to shell out $20 per person. Also, the grab and go burritos are small and leave something to be desired. The Bad: Let's talk room storage. It's pretty much non-existent. No dressers or drawers for longer stays it can be a bit of a pain when you're unpacking. Our room had a potential for an amazing mountain view, but sadly, the window was cloudy, presumably these weren't replaced during the renovation. And the reason this wasn't a 4-stay stay - we had the worst encounter I've ever had with front desk staff. Very rude and passive-aggressive. Something I don't want to rehash in detail here. But, I will say, the GM, Josh Stuhr, stepped in and really managed the situation well. Kudos to him for handling things professionally and making us feel valued. Other: As others have mentioned the sliding glass bathroom door doesn't provide much privacy, so just keep that in mind depending on who you're staying with. Despite the issues, I want to again emphasize GM Josh's exemplary efforts in turning the situation around. His professionalism and hospitality were the saving grace of our stay. This AC Hotel was opened 12 months ago and is a Best Western converted to a Mariott Bonvoy facility. The reception staff is very friendly and welcoming. But friends the rooms are small with low motel like ceiling, popcorn walls and tight in space. This definitely has the look and feel of a motel that has been remodeled with a decent facelift. So not really my cup of tea! But decent value in the neighborhood. You can conveniently find a carafe of water located on each floor which is great! Overall positive experience. read more

The bad: shampoo has been taken from the bathroom wall, the front desk notified twice, still no shampoo. The tv keeps 'thinking' while trying to watch, it's hot no matter what temp I set the AC on, bathroom wall has ink scribbled by a kid, the bar in lobby out of both red wines on the menu, the front desk girl spoke so soft we couldn't hear her when we called twice before arriving, still couldn't hear her after arriving, no explanation about the place, WiFi, kitchen, breakfast, none of it... Well....first the good: location! It's a hop, skip and a jump to Copper, Breckenridge, and another fun things off of 1-70. It's a mile from the quaint Main Street of Frisco. It's also a short walking distance to Whole Foods, Safeway, a liquor store, and some fast food places. So there's that. The front desk staff was kind and helpful upon check-in. The rooms are updated and clean. The lobby is warm and inviting. There is a full bar area with plenty of seating and a dinner menu as well. The wine menu is nice. Try the Bordeaux! Bartender was super friendly and looked like he knew what he was doing mixing up some cocktails. I will offer some warnings: if they try to put you on the second floor, ask for any other floor. The lobby music is obnoxious and can be heard at all hours from the rooms on the second floor. Why is this? Probably a flaw in the remodel. (Avoid room 230) No one that we spoke to at the front desk could be persuaded to turn off the music in the middle of the night. They said it comes off at 10 and turns back on at 6:00 but gimme a break! We heard it at midnight, at 4:00 am, and no amount of Apple Music white noise would drown it out. Made it impossible to sleep decently. Skip the paid (20.00) breakfast in the morning. And if you are staying with others and like bathroom privacy, be aware of the barn door style, frosty glass design of the door. There is also an inch gap between it and the wall when closed. For the price we paid, I think we deserved better. read more

We got stuck in Frisco on a cold, snowy night, when i70 was closed, so we booked a room here. The lobby is very pretty and the rooms are standard. The staff wasn't the friendliest upon checkout. The room is not quiet, you'll hear tons of noise. The bed moved everytime you got up or turned over in the middle of the night. It worked in a pinch but we did not wake up well rested. The shower head was broken and we alerted the staff and they just let us know they'd notate it in our file. No solutions were offered. It was a disappointing Marriott experience in comparison to my usual expectations. read more

IF YOU LIKE PRIVACY DON'T STAY HERE. Deco is nicely done, healthy snack options in the lobby and staff was lovely. Breakfast option was sparse and over priced. Worst part of the stay was the bathroom in the room. They used a barn door with lightly frosted glass which removed all level of privacy. You can see body shape and shading clearly and forget about sound proofing. Door had a 1/2 inch gap from the wall. Thankful it was my sister I was with and not a shared room when taking a girls trip. Would steer clear of this place for that reason alone. read more

Rude staff that gave zero explanation of any amenities and was annoyed I asked for a parking pass, construction that woke me up/zero notice for drilling that literally shook my room, was put in a handicap room down a hallway that should be in a horror film or access to a mechanical room (not to mention the rooms aren't actually accessible for a wheelchair bound person), paper thin walls (sneezing, tv, babies crying, dog barking, what sounded like someone throwing their suitcases against the wall for 15 min straight at midnight), cloudy windows, brown rusty looking water came out of shower faucet, moldy shower curtain, loud highway noise, squeaky/lumpy bed made the Olympic village cardboard beds luxurious. What a dump. Lesson learned: A Marriott Bonvoy doesn't mean it's "nice". Just saw this hotel is rated 2stars while the AC in my small town is 4 stars. Local establishments here are the way to go unless you're happy paying for a motel disguised as a 2 star hotel. read more

Be aware that at this hotel the commode is placed next to the all glass shower in the same small room. So if someone is in the shower anyone wanting to use the commode will need to be on very casual terms with whomever is in shower at the time. Given the sleeper sofa in my room that suggests up to a party of four could be in the room. The shower/commode room features on of those increasingly popular "barn door" entrances to privacy is already somewhat compromised. On my recent stay the $20 breakfast was a very sad affair. Forty minutes after breakfast was allegedly begun and with very few patrons in the area, the food was congealed eggs, limp bacon, four lonely pieces of cheese, just two slices of bread (one of which was and end piece), no coffee cups of any kind, no cutlery and no napkins other than the paper towel dispenser at the hand wash station for the help. At least at McDonalds they give you a cup for your coffee and a napkin with your food. read more

It was a last minute decision to go and I have a very big dog. It was the best dog friendly hotel experience. When we first arrived into our room I could heard music playing below our room on the third floor. I immediately inquired about it and was told it was probably the hot tub. I went ahead and unpacked and we went to dinner. Upon returning, the music was even later so my husband went to see where it was coming from. it was not from the hot tub area and was "hotel music." This was the best customer service I have ever received from the person at the front desk of any hotel I have ever stayed at. On a vacation with my sister we were greeted by Ellie when we walked into this hotel and her genuinely kind and upbeat personality was amazing. The hotel was quite busy and she handled every customer with the same kind demeanor. Very nice lobby at this hotel. Lots of places to sit inside and out to hang out. The room was nice and the beds comfortable. There is free parking. In a world where customer service is a lost art, Ellie didn't get that memo. We went to Frisco the BBQ competition this pasted weekend, the was nice. The hotel was better the service was very good the room was very clean and the staff was very helpful. We had a nice weekend in the mountains and we owe much of it to the comfort we had at the hotel. Thanks to James at the front desk and JR also at the front desk. We loved the modern, spacious design of the room and comfortable King bed. Check-in was easy and very friendly. Unfortunately, there was no shower soap/gel in the fixed-bottle in the shower, and of course you only find this out when you are actually in the shower. Roomservice ignored us when we walked past as we checked out, even turned her back to us. No tip for you, young lady. The hotel bar had a decent enough menu and the bartender did a decent job though i think she would have appreciated some additional help. I don't understand the open designed "Erector Set" style clothing rack with the tiny little fridge on the floor, which meant it was hard to bend over and utilize. The entire set-up seemed like it was designed for midgets, or for people that had very short clothes as any normal clothing would hang well past the fridge. Not very clever and lacking for such a large open-plan room. read more

The doors to the bathroom are see through. They are supposed to be opaque but you can see everything inside. The door doesn't lock so anyone in your hotel room can walk in. (Not like they would because they can easily see you inside.) the sink is not inside the bathroom which is very inconvenient for getting ready for bed. Although the bathroom situation is not a "dystopian hellscape" it is very annoying. For the amount of money we paid, people should not be able to watch you take a dump in the bathroom. This room is made for 4 people which means more than a husband and wife are staying here. Siblings may not want to watch each other take a shower. The Lobby is nice but everything food related you can buy, is extremely over priced. Breakfast is also not included with our stay with is the same as the bathroom, unnecessary and inconvenient towards AC hotel guests. Wont be staying here again. read more
