Perfect for a Bed & Breakfast getaway! This Valentine's Date Spot #5 requires you to stay a little longer. How about for a weekend to relax? This Late 1800's elegant Victorian mountain ambience, architecture & decor - Centrally located in the heart of Frisco's historic district. The best part is the hot tub perk. I very much appreciate my stay at Frisco Lodge, as well as experiencing the Amenities, the on-site activities and nearby activities. It is fairly close to the Frisco Nordic Center (To enjoy the ski season and ride on sleighs.) as well as all the restaurants. Some additional perks are their AARP discount for anyone who's a member of the AARP. Year Built: 1885 Year Last Renovated: 2001 Check in Time: 2:00 PM Check out Time: 11:00 AM Number of Floors: 2

More pluses than minuses! Plus: location, happy hour with wine, cheese, crackers & more every evening; lovely hot breakfasts, kiddies love the mini train, hot tub, waterfall shower, clean, friendly, games (we played checkers!), movies available. Minus: no A/C, no fans, no cross ventilation (we were on the 2nd floor in the newer building) so in the Summer it's stifling; no closets, no hair dryer in room (although one can be borrowed in from the main building).

Checked out of this place today and there's so many good things I have to stay about this establishment...first off, location is perfect. It's on Main St. literally in the middle of everything. Hospitality was one of a kind..it felt like I was staying at a family member's home, or how one of the girls that work there mentioned "it's like visiting grandma's." It's soo cozy and warm and inviting. Thank you to Ashley who checked us in and served our Happy Hour that day, and thank you to Kimberlin who hung out with us downstairs one night and struck up some good conversation with us. She heated up some soup and served us wine even though it was like 9pm because we had missed happy hour earlier. They have Happy Hour every day with hors d'oeuvres, complimentary wine, and even live music which was so nice and relaxing. In the winter they serve some homemade soup with all of that...I had the beer cheese soup and chili while I was there and both were so good. How kind of Kimberlin to still serve us that late..like I said, the hospitality here is genuine and warm. They also offer complimentary breakfast which is just as delicious. I became addicted to the waffles and the homemade batter they have and had multiple every morning...lo I don't agree with some previous reviews stating that this place is "dated." To me, dated means run down and dirty. Frisco Lodge did not appear that way at all. This place was built in 1885 and I truly feel that they try to maintain the classy vintage look and homey feel that it originally started off with. Everything in our room was clean and well functioning. Bed was comfy ! I believe they have some rooms with shared baths, although we opted for the queen bed with private bath located in the second building. We have never stayed somewhere so charming as this. Thank you Frisco Lodge once again for our wonderful stay and we won't hesitate staying here again in the future !!!

    Happy hour

We loved this place!!!! The staff were incredible friendly and helpful- we were charmed by our welcome by Kimberlyn for sure and Ashley was so helpful and fun. The happy hour included in the price was such a pleasant surprise! We each got two glasses of wine (one each we chose as a pop tail which was a Chardonnay popsicle- see the picture!) There were also cheese and crackers and other snacks including their specialty hot pickles. There is neat seating for the happy hour and breakfast. Such a charming place. We stayed in a beautiful room that is in the part where you share a bathroom with other guests which I think they call "European style". That was ok and helped bring our room cost down. They have other rooms that do include private bathrooms. You are right on Main St so you can hear a little noise from your window from people walking by but the lodge was quieter than we expected as we were sleeping. We thought the breakfast was yummy with great options. We were so excited to take advantage of the free bikes and loved getting to ride through town and around the marina!!! This place has so much character and the staff add so much warmth and a genuine personal touch- what a treasure.

Found this little cute bed and breakfast place and I'm glade to say it was the best bed and breakfast lodge! It's an older lodging in Frisco, Co but service was great and the breakfast and happy hour were exceptional! Even though I stayed in a room with shared bathroom, it was not an inconvenience. The only downfall is getting used to the squeaking bed and the footsteps outside our door, but it's to be expected especially in an older place built in 1885. In addition, no problem about parking. This was also within drive from Breckenridge or going up north to Georgetown or Denver. Most likely would book this place again if I visit Colorado!

Like a well-oiled machine, the amenities and staff reflect a masterfully run operation. Tasteful decor and clear signage welcome you to relax, enjoy their afternoon wine and tapas or schedule a massage. It's very clean and appointed nicely. Touted as the ONLY Inn within the United States which roasts its own imported coffee beans, I can attest to the deliciousness of these beans. My favorite was the Brazilian Light Roast as it was smooth and rich. One can grab a mug and have hot coffee or tea or any of their multiple beverage selections for a small fee. As it's currently winter, the indoor spaces have warm fireplaces and cozy chairs and tables to relax by. One can borrow a DVD for their room or exercise in the basement activity room. Our room was extraordinarily cozy with an amazing and comfortable king size bed with fresh bedding as well as a little electric fireplace and lots of lighting options. A white noise machine was made available as were fans and robes and bathroom amenities. I really enjoyed not having to carry around a key in my pocket or even a rfid card as the rooms have codes on the electronic locks. Very intelligent design. The kitchen offers a plethora of delicious items included with our reservation as well as food for purchase and every morning one can choose a hot meal prepared however you like as well as hot oatmeal, various cereals and yogurts and fresh fruits. It's quite delightful and convenient. The owner Bruce and his staff are always available to satisfy your every need and make sure you're comfortable. I found fireside online and it was by far the most affordable option in Breckenridge for a single night so I went for it in a two person dorm, and luckily I happened to be the only one in that room that night! The room was definitely snug but it was cozy and very comfortable and I slept very well. Finding the place was also very easy, they provide very clear instructions and there is plenty of parking at the church across the street (just mind their specific parking instructions and you won't have any trouble). Re: the interior: it's actually a very large place with two full baths and one half bath. I never even saw/heard another guest when I came but again it was late. The vibe was that it was a very comfy, chill place - they have soothing music playing over by the office door where the coffee/tea machines are, and there is a small kitchen and living room area. They had a real fire going in the living room area and there were games and books and lots of "things to do" brochures around, so truly it felt like being in a cozy cabin. I genuinely really loved that vibe. Not to mention it's quite close to the main road - you could easily walk but because it was raining heavily the night I came, I did drive all of 3 minutes to avoid walking 15 in the rain to the bar on Main Street I wanted to go to. They also sent me a text when i came in case i had questions, so they are available to help you. Overall - if you're coming and staying here for just a night or two and all you need is a bed/shower/safe space, this place is GREAT. Admittedly the rooms aren't big (at least mine wasn't), but again as a solo traveler it was fine. Would def rec to friends :)

Sturdy, grated outside steps lead to this suite, for safe access and for privacy. The location is unbeatable, just a 3-block walk to town and to all of the shops and restaurants. The "Free Ride" city bus stops in front of the Fireside Inn, and can take you to the Gondola and Breck Station, if you don't feel like making the 7-minute walk. [Tip: Epic Mountain Express shuttle vans from the airport can drop you directly at the Fireside Inn!] Our host Madi communicated beautifully before and during our visit. This isn't a super nice or updated space, but we had everything we needed for our mixed bag of early 30s friends. My friends and I stayed in the Stone St. cottage, which is heavily Grateful Dead/psychedelic/ classic rock themed. The room is listed as sleeping 3, which we did on night one, but easily slept 4 on night 2. The grounds were so charming and eclectic. The cottage we were in was a little wonky and slanted on the floor, but the rooms were clean, the shower worked great and we had more than what we needed. We checked in super late in the darkness so we didn't get to experience a normal front desk check in, which I'm sure would brief us on procedures like pre-ordering breakfast the night before, but the staff was so accommodating when we showed up hungry and ordered bacon, eggs and potatoes in the AM. Mary was the cook and she was rad, quick witted and whipped up a lovely home cooked breakfast. There are 2 dogs (that we met) on site names Shokti (gorg white husky queen) and Mr. Dog (precious, hilarious chihuahua businessman) and we loved to pet and visit with them while in the main lodge. That space is incredible: kitschy, eclectic, trippy and warm, just like our whole stay! I could go on forever about how adult-summer-camp-esque the grounds were! Every cottage is themed, though we only entered ours. The covered hot tub was a crucial touch for our group in the crisp 50 degree weather to take a morning dip and unwind after the show. I'm unsure if all cottages come with hot tubs so definitely confirm if that's something you're interested in. The walkability to all the necessities and some breweries/ eateries was appealing when we had time to kill. Cliff House offers a shuttle to and from Red Rocks for a fixed price per rider. The shuttle to the venue leaves 15 minutes prior to doors which was a little late for us, so we opted to take the shuttle back and it was a highlight of the trip. Brook's organized the shuttle, sent us incredibly detailed instructions on where/ how to find her in a short, yellow school bus. I especially appreciate the details because we had been drinking etc and needed the depth of care taken to make sure we found her! The bus was stocked with beverages and we played music and just bopped down the hill, laughing our butts off. This was such a fun stay for us and it was thanks to the grounds, location, home cooked breakfast and tea in the lodge, Mary, Brooks, Shokti and Mr. Dog. I will recommend to anyone I know traveling that way!

The xc skiing at Devil's Thumb has always been a favorite for us, as far back as the 70's when it was just a rustic ski trail system with a small nordic supply shop. In recent years it became a full fledged resort with lodging where we have often stayed. We have also stayed in Winter Park, about 15 minutes away and driven over to ski. But we have now found our new favorite option. This is such a lovely place, both the facility and the charming staff. It is a better price value for us than some of the other options in the area, yet more than a simple motel in town. You know, like Goldilocks, "just right." I especially want to note that the (included) breakfast that host John cooks for the guests was wonderful, some sweet, some savory, warm, homemade, natural and ample for the start of even an hearty ski day. They take note in advance of special food needs and serve with a choice of time options. The log style of the building is rustic but nicely furnished. The rooms are well designed and furnished with high quality linens and have lots of storage as some guests stay for weeks. The views from each room are very pretty, some to the Continental Divide, some to the woodland. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. The central lounge area was large, comfortable, attractive and clean and with a central fireplace. There are also some other smaller gathering areas to sit and talk or read if you wish to be outside your room. And there are also some family and dog friendly cabins on site if you want more than a bedroom. Personally, the rooms in the main inn are just right for my needs. We will absolutely be back. It is convenient to local xc skiing and also just a 15 minute drive past the Winter Park Resort and not far at all from several quality dinner options. We met other guests using the lodging for all of these reasons.
