Success with acupuncture as with any service is about connection. I reached out to several acupuncturist in both Temple and Killeen. I ignored the negative review about Josie since the reviewer had never actually used her services. When I first spoke with Josie and told her my diagnoses, her first response was that I shouldn't be married to the diagnosis of Lupus or anything else with which I had been afflicted. I knew then that she was the best "fit" for me. Anyone with a chronic illness understands how touching this comment could be: a life without Lupus (or at least flare-ups) would change my life. She wasn't promising that acupuncture would cure me completely, but she was suggesting that if I open my mind to making lifestyle changes in addition to acupuncture I could make good progress. Josie a kind spirit and incredibly smart. Her clinic is warm and relaxing and is what I would describe where southern charm meets Chinese Medicine. She is not only well versed in acupuncture but Chinese Medicine overall. Her approach to using holistic medicine is useful because she also understands the benefits of Western medicine as well. I am happy to be working with her and look forward to getting stronger physically and emotionally. She is educating me about wellness and how beneficial Chinese Medicine can be with balancing the stressors that we all have that can cause various illnesses.

I've seen images of my spine enough times that I pretty much know what they're going to tell me already. For the most part it was the same for this visit. However, I did have a new injury that does need adjusting. (Don't go on water slide rides when you're 63!) Dr Johnson was pleasant and friendly. I didn't feel like I was getting the "big sell" that I've experienced many times in the past with chiropractors. I'm not saying that regular visits wouldn't be helpful. But I'm the person who is mostly interested in just getting out of pain. We have limited resources at this time, so that was also a factor. But his prices are so incredibly reasonable. Which is awesome because My situation definitely involves a number of visits. The office was clean the bathroom was clean and nicely decorated. He did my adjustment and then put me on what I can only say is similar to a TENS unit. That was a new experience. Then slathered me down with some kind of icy hot stuff. I feel like I got more care for my money than I've gotten at any other chiropractor before. I walked out of the office knowing that this is a business owned by people with integrity. So we headed out to Natural Grocers and they do have them. I've decided to look for Duck Fat and yes they have them. I use it to cook. It has K2 Vitamin properties and you know what they say, its better to eat your food than taking supplements. But if you got only supplements why not. I also bought MCT oil and my mom also bought Jarrows: Glutathione supplements. We really loved it here. I just ran out of Duck Fat, I am due again to return and get a new jar.
