They just opened enrollment for potty-trained 2-year-old children. This school is located on beautiful grounds in Livonia. I always felt that safety and welfare was a top priority with the staff & administrators.

I'm an EMT and my husband is a full time firefighter. They said they would work with us however needed. Our first clue should have been his behavior. They told us that most kids during thier first experience in daycare act that way, but I still had a bad feeling. I started to do more research, but they checked out online well. This was Masons first daycare experience and he also has attention problems. We clearly told them this and told them I was worried he might not adjust perfectly at first, but again, they told me he would be ok. By September, things were out of control. They kept telling us that he needed help, that he wouldn't sit ( again, at this point he had just turned 3) and a pile of other things. He was terrified to get out of the car in the morning, completely not normal, and was darkly emotional after my afternoon arrival. Eventually they said he MUST be potty trained, or he wouldn't be able to continue at that school. We abided by thier wishes, this was something we were trying anyway, and then they put him in a new classroom for 3 year olds. Things just got worse. They wouldn't greet him in the morning, or even get up off thier chairs, they complained of him every afternoon. On top of that, he was on a new medication to help with the attention difficulties. We THOUROGHLY explained that his Dr. said he might be a little drowsy the first two weeks. They manager of the school said, don't worry! We can work through it. A week later I get a call from his "teacher" stating Mason is interrupting class because he gets too tired at lunch and it's bad for the class. Also, he had escaped out the back half door, that had "lost" the childproof knob. By the way, the back door past the half gate leads out to a back field with a road beyond it and the door has no alram , if a three year old child was to open it. I expressed my concern about that many times and it was never fixed. We decided right then and there to pull him. I only wish we had sooner, who knows what he absorbed mentally there. We took Mason to a phyciatrist after this to make sure that we were in fact not over thinking thier actions. The Phyciatrist group in Livonia said it was not the first time they had heard the same senario unfortunately. They said we did the right thing. Please, please pay attention to your child's behavior if you do go with this school. Mason was bit over 7 times in just two months, there were times when he had fecal matter still on his rear, and they talked about all of these downfalls and things they didn't like about him right in front of him. Children need a loving, nurturing environment in these developing years. In our experience, they treat each child like a object, not family. We just hope this reaches someone out there and makes a difference.

Prior to starting here, they had been at another facility that provided lunches for kids and was slightly closer to home. At the other place we had some bad experiences. So I was exceedingly cautious about starting here. However, the staff made sure the boys felt welcomed from the very start (at our tour)! They handle potty words and discipline in an immediate fashion without humiliating the child. One other boy bit my kid while they were playing but because the policy for discipline is not to punish but remove the kids and then have them talk it over, the boys are actually "best friends" now they tell me. (At our prior school, there was a boy who did the same and the kids told me he was told he may "have to go back to the baby room since he was acting like a baby" and to this day they still talk about how that child "will never come to our parties") The communication is great too. The first week they provide a written document of what happened during the day, which is very helpful. The nap schedule is posted right outside the door so you can see if your kid slept when you pick them up. And they send home any uneaten food so you know what your kid ate. They also seem to genuinely care for the children, telling us stories about how cute they are or funny things they said. As my boys get ready for public school, they keep telling me that they don't want to leave their current school. I'm so happy I found this place, and would highly recommend it!

The people at the school care deeply about the gifted population and are there to offer any support and guidance that a parent or student may need.
