Most ghetto academy in all of Texas. Went in to buy a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses. Took forever to find someone despite the fact that there were three employees in range chatting. The woman was uninterested in showing the glasses and had a strange look on her face almost as if I was a bother. This is store is very unorganized, no sales associates to be seen anywhere but hanging out in the very back of the store on the clothes racks cursing about their job and people they work with. Seriously? Clothes on the shelves are mixed and thrown around. No one to assist in the shoe department, people pulling boxes left to right and no one to organize crap. Everyone looks mad, my family and I were not greeted just stared at. Need to smile more often or just leave, if you don't like your job and the people you work with. My partner was accused of stealing a sweater he walked in with at the local Academy by some of the employees and a manager named Hector without any proof. Employees began following us around the store and they made it very obvious they were not trying to hide the fact they were following us. We were ridiculed in front of the entire staff and customers who were walking in and out when the manager asked if we were going to pay for a sweater we did not steal. My partner walked in wearing the sweater but for some reason they accused him of stealing it because they sell the exact same sweater at Academy. When I asked to speak to a manager Hector ignored me even though he was the manager at the time being. There was no apology issued from the staff or the manager who instead turned away after what I can only imagine was embarrassment for falsely accusing us. I will not longer shop at the local Academy since they have such rude and disrespectful staff. read more

This is the kind of store this town needs. But I absolutely dread going in there!! It NEVER fails that their prices never ring up correctly. Then I have to stand in line hold up the lines because their price isn't right. They have to find someone to look it up. Taking for ever. Why would I take something and price it myself??
