I kind of lucked into the website of a local gun shop. They had a great price, and, since I had "registered" my e-mail at their recent 50th Anniversary event, I got a healthy discount too. So, I ordered it. Three days later it is here. I will pick it up on Monday. No transfer fees. No driving to a distant "metro area" to pick it up. And, I have a local contact for post purchase support. Win-Win-Win! I will certainly buy my next gun from them too.

Other people walked in and they were asked if they needed any help almost immediately. I hate to pull the race card but I was the only visibly hispanic person there and everyone is visibly white. This is the only time I have ever noticed this and it may have been just a coincidence but I felt ignored purposely. I have dropped thousands on a firearm in a "lemme just look" type of trip at other gun stores many times. I only wanted cheap 22 and maybe a new Sig but screw that. Never going again.

When we visited, the rangers/staff were happy to see us and were very kind. The displays take up most of one room but were definitely worth a quick stop and check. We especially liked the artifacts and reproductions of artifacts. Those are always interesting to see. They also had a display of animal skulls and tracks that I'm sure younger kids would have been even more fascinated than me. Well, my 12 year old brain enjoyed them and was amazed at how fierce something that size seems. If visiting the area, check it out next time.

Items I had been trying to source for the past several months, mind you. I could not find them in-stores nor on-line. But this little shop got'r dunn! All too often have I walked into a firearms shop just to be disappointed by subpar product offerings. But not this one! As I began perusing around I quickly realized they stocked quality items. The prices were very reasonable as well, so that was an added bonus. I'd say their prices are commensurate and not heavily marked up like another small shop closer to my house. Customer service was great as well. Bain was knowledgable, courteous and welcoming. He even provided a contact person regarding potential hunting opportunities in the area. Much appreciated, sir!
