The nurse came in an took her vitals and said the vet would be in shortly , at 8:45 I noticed my dog was not responding so went to the front desk and told them something was wrong with Tiny and finally the doctor came in and they took her away. I finally decided to have her uthenized because they informed me she would not make it through surgery. I think if they had treated this as an emergency she would have been saved. They took too long to see her. I am devastated too lose my sweet little Tiny.

Took my pup in for some irritation he was having around his eye wrinkles. His eye wrinkles are sensitive to changes in weather and moisture. Dr. Thomas recommended a foam made for yeast and skin infections. I noticed the irritation in his wrinkles improved after the first two applications. The solution she recommended can be purchased directly from the vet, in-store or online and the bottle will last for several months. This is a great solution for my pet and his sensitive skin. The facility is clean and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and friendly.

My dog, DeeBo, can be pretty difficult and has quite the temper when it comes to vet visits , which is something I'm always nervous and a little embarrassed about. Not once did they make me feel bad or judged for it. Instead, they were incredibly patient with him and took their time making him feel as comfortable and safe as possible. They gave him treats, got down on the floor with us to speak to me and interact with him at his level, and were so gentle and understanding the entire time. They were able to clean up and treat the irritated areas on his head, give him his vaccines, and even made sure we had additional trazodone for future visits. I never felt like they were rushing us or just trying to get through the appointment. I walked in feeling anxious about how the visit was going to go and left feeling SO relieved and thankful. Having a reactive or difficult dog can make vet appointments incredibly stressful, and the compassion they showed both DeeBo and me meant more than they probably realize. This was, by far, the best veterinary experience I have ever had. I'm so grateful we found them and feel so much better knowing DeeBo has such a kind and patient team taking care of him.

I recently sent my cat to South Platte Veterinary Hospital for bloodwork and upon reviewing my bill I discovered that South Platte Veterinary double charged me for the exam ($79.95), after contacting South Platte Veterinary Hospital about the error they elected to issue $79.95 in credit to my account rather than return the funds to the original form of payment-- this shady business practice effectively gives South Platte River Veterinary Hospital a free loan (and free money if customers don't return to claim their credit). To make matters worse, the office manager made me jump through hoops to get the funds returned to the original form of payment (several phone calls / emails; easily 30min to get the refund). The default should be to refund to the original form of payment. South Platte Veterinary has lost me as a long-term client based on this customer experience / interaction. In full transparency / disclosure South Platte Veterinary Hospital is adequate at the core duty of taking care of sick animals; however, their business practices are disastrous. They got him in for a CT scan quickly, gave us options to keep him comfortable with the breathing issues he was having, and he was scheduled to start radiation within a week. After completing SRT Radiation with Dr. Vernon our cat was in partial remission and breathing much better, and thankfully we had another happy 10 months with him. Dr. Vernon did everything he could to help and was always available when we had questions or concerns. We knew that everyone there really cared about our kitty and how he was doing. When it was unfortunately time to say goodbye to our sweet boy they sent a very thoughtful condolence card that meant a lot to us. The Emergency department was also wonderful when we had to bring our cat in when he wasn't feeling well - there were several emergency visits needed throughout the year, and every vet we met was attentive and knowledgeable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing Oncology or Emergency services for their pet.
