HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I have never been happier with another vet, and I have utilized a lot of vets over the years for foster dogs & my own pets in different cities. I found them on a friend's recommendation, and I recommend them to everyone I know. The thing that stands out as most impressive to me in the 5+ years I've been going there is their consistent ability to diagnose some very obscure issues. For example, one day my dog couldn't seem to close her mouth, pick things up, or eat/drink properly All of my googling could not diagnose her condition. I took her in & the vet immediately determined that it was nerve damage related to a dog bite wound she sustained the week before. Amazing! I took my rescue dog there after not experiencing the new "corporate" way this company runs its business. My dog had many health issues including three lumps that were deemed cancerous. I let the surgeon there take them out and she did a fine job (I think). She also extracted a tooth. But when I returned to have the stiches removed I asked to see a vet instead of just a technician because she also had an ear infection and other issues. I was told I needed to make a separate appointment for that, so I did. When I went back a new vet looked at her ear while I helped hold her. There were some other health issues that also hadn't been adressed. Through the entire process I was nothing but nice and helpful (I thought). I made an appointment to return in a few days but received a call from a technician firing me as a client - this after spending nearly $6,000 there. A new vet inspected my dog head to tail and found two more cancer lumps, a stitch that was enbedded in her amputated tail and two serious infections. I'm in shock from the whole Tender Touch experience. They sent me a letter which was not only full of lies but is potentially libellous in my opinion. Stay far away from this place. read more

They make my pets feel like they are the most special fur kids in the world. The are thorough, responsible, they don't overcharge, they'll give pet exams on the floor to make my dogs more comfortable and I've been with them for years. For someone like me, trusting a vet to take care of my frenchie and mini whoodle is a big deal, and they have never disappointed me, I don't know what I'd do without them. I want to start off by saying that I like the vet that meets with both of my cats. However, my poor review is largely based around the judgmental woman who answered the phone today when I inquired about de-clawing my cat. I am typically against this procedure as i know this is very painful for the cats. With that being said, my cat can get very violent when new people visit my home. I tried to explain this to the woman who answered the phone today, October 15, 2020 around 1:25pm. However, my question was met with disgust and judgment. I will no longer bring my pets to this facility due to the judgment passed upon me and a question about a procedure for my cat. Update: Monday, October 19, 2020 at 5:10pm. We just moved here to Denver and had an appointment scheduled for our pup's annual visit. A couple weeks before the visit, he started shaking his head and pawing at his ears, so I called concerned about him potentially having an ear infection. They moved up our appointment to get us in earlier. I checked in about 10 minutes before the appointment and was almost immediately shown to an exam room. My pup gets pretty anxious, but they were great at working with him and seeing us quickly so his anxiety didn't skyrocket. They checked out his ears, ran the necessary micro labs, diagnosed his ear infection, cleaned his ears, and put ointment to treat him all while also taking care of his annual vaccines and a full exam. They checked his teeth, moved his legs/checked his joints, and listened to his heart. I have not had vets do all of these things in the past and it made me feel like my pup was very well taken care of and evaluated. The vet talked through everything and asked about some of the more unique things in his past medical history to make sure she wasn't missing anything. It was a very reassuring visit. We were in and out in less than an hour and the cost of services was as expected for the level of care I thought we received. The vet tech even called the next day to check in and see how our pup was doing. I was very happy with the visit and am glad we chose Tender Touch to establish as our vet! read more

I can't say enough good things about Tender Touch. They have been there for me through the hardest times with 2 kitties, and were on the phone with me while getting some devastating news at the Neurologist. They understood how much my kitty meant to me, and they treat our pets as if they are their own. They truly care. In seeing specialists, they have always been very impressed by Dr. Thiessan's care and have specifically commented that she is very gifted vet. Awful service. We waited two weeks for our appointment and my husband took off of work early to take our puppy across town to Tender Touch. On the way, the receptionist called to cancel saying we were late. Then when he walked in with the puppy she smugly and condescendingly told him there was nothing she could do for him. Don't bother! If I could give no "stars" or minus "stars" I would. I'm a retired healthcare professional and would not refer an enemy here much less a beloved pet. This place has gone downhill over the years. They don't care about your fur family unless they are totally healthy. They saw my very ill cat on 2 consecutive Mondays, but 5 days later when I contacted them about her pain level increasing, they didn't have time to see her or prescribe anything for pain. We love our visits to Tender Touch! We switched from another vet because of very long wait times and by-the-book visits/recommendations. Our friend and fellow dog parent recommended Tender Touch and we haven't looked back. We rarely wait to be seen at Tender Touch and each visit feels personalized to our dog and his needs. They have some preventative care plans that we will be looking into soon, which were also recommended to us. Bonus: clean waiting area with a big fish tank separating off a section for dogs who like some privacy (aka bark at other dogs) and a big green space outside for dogs to do their anxiety-induced business. read more

I cannot express how much I enjoy taking our three dogs to Tender Touch. It started with taking our oldest in when we knew something was wrong and other vets failed to see that he had cushings disease. Dr. Barnett saw the issues right away and referred us to a specialist in the area. I made Tender Touch my new vet about 6 months ago based on the recommendation of yelpers. Thanks, guys! Luckily, none of my gatos has been sick until recently, but when they got sick, they got *really* sick. Sneezing, sniffling colds that lingered for months, and a more major problem with my oldest cat. When you fill out your first-timer paperwork, they clarify whether you're the type that wants to know the ins-and-outs of what's happening with your animal or if you just want a no-nonsense answer. The vets and vet techs are fantastic - sympathetic, encouraging, compassionate. Once in a while you can get some 'tude from the receptionists (this happened on my first visit and it was extremely off-putting, although my experiences since then have been positive.) And I adopted a new kitten from them in November, so I will always remember them for naming my kitty Jason Voorhees. My only word of caution is: be very clear and ask lots of questions about procedure pricing. Kit (shockingly, not named after Knight Rider) needed a few ultrasounds to get to the bottom of a health issue, and there seemed to be a lot of confusion (both times) about what my final cost would be. Another time, some tests didn't come back from CSU and they ended up crediting my account. Overall though, I highly recommend this place! read more

So, this review is a first impression/experience only. Being new to Denver finding a doctor for my "children" is VERY important. With an upcoming trip I scoured Yelp to find a vet and landed on Tender Touch Animal Hospital. I must have called on a very busy day as I was disconnected (due to all of their lines being busy) about 5 times before I was successful. Fortunately, I was given an appointment for BOTH of my dogs together about a week and a half from my call. Day of - I loaded up the dogs and headed to the vet. Finding the place was easy and they have parking behind which is nice. The outside area with grass and poop station was nice and pretty well maintained. The young lady at the front desk was great. My dogs (especially my 6 year old Golden) get very excited and she seemed okay with Maxness! I asked when I made the appointment to get the paperwork ahead of time since I knew two big dogs and one me would be hard. The waiting area is clean and inviting with lots of hooks for leashes. The vet tech came out and assisted me with weighing the dogs and she seemed okay (even though I warned her) that my very strong Golden almost pulled her over. We were taken to the room and only in their maybe 5 minutes before the doctor came in. On first impression Dr. Thiessen was wonderful. She was so warm and patient with again..our Golden who thinks he deserves all the attention. She did a thorough exam of each of our dogs. We discussed a few things and she just seemed very willing to help and listen if she could. The best part for me was being able to pay in the room so that I wasn't having to wrestle two dogs in the waiting room. The lady at the front desk again was very pleasant on our way out. And the vet tech even offered to help me out with our dogs which I thought was kind. Fees: Pretty standard I would assume $62 each dog for a comprehensive exam (establish care) and roughly $60 ish for updated rabies and distemper I believe for one of our dogs. $204 or so total. I don't look forward to returning (who does) but do hopefully anticipate a repeat experience when that time comes. read more

This place is great. It feels like a family and yet still gives you all the bells and whistles of a corporate vet. My dog, Anja has been having some ear infections and I had to take her in yesterday to have the one looked at. Let's also mention that I called the day prior and they could fit me in the very next day - very nice. The vet checked everything out thoroughly and talked to me at length about what is needed and possible prevention and anything else I had issues with. I walked away feeling very satisfied and not at all concerned about the cost because it was reasonable and I get great customer service. I also love the fact that they call the next day to check up on you and your pet and make sure everything is okay. What great pet care. Could not lift this vet higher if I tried. My cat has been going here for 5 years and he loves everyone who works here. Recently my partner adopted a 10 week-old German Shepard, and she is also fell in love. She didn't even want to leave when it was time. It was difficult during COVID as a pet parent because they take the animal back without you, but based on how she came back out in such a good mood, I have no choice but to further my trust. I was a past employee of Tender Touch, and as much as it sucked to leave a small part of me was really excited to finally be eligible to write them a review. There is hands down no better care available for your furry friend. From the back office to the front desk every single person in this building genuinely cares about pets and making sure they remain healthy and happy. They deserve every good review they get, and will treat your dog or cat with patience, love, and respect. I couldn't possibly count how many people would comment that their pets had been terrified of their previous vet but ran into Tender Touch excited. I have seen the doctors and technicians slave over cases until they found a resolution. I've seen them work their days off, stay in the office until 8:00 PM, spend an hour on the phone with a client, and cry alongside an owner when we lose a beloved patient. My dog will ALWAYS come here as long as we live in Colorado because having worked here and seen everyone at their worst (as you would any coworker) I can very confidently say that everyone here is the best of the best. Tender Touch is a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment that any pet owner would be incredibly lucky to be a part of. Tender Touch could not fit me in when I called with an emergency with my dog.....I was in such a panic, as I knew timing was critical, and they sent me elsewhere. Until my most recent vet visit there, I was pretty happy with our previous visits and the care they had given my dog and recommended. I am unsure of what has changed, or if I don't see the right vet to get the best treatment, but you failed me, and my dog passed away at a completely unfamiliar place. Pretty unfortunate. read more

Honesty I am so blessed to have found these amazing people. I was new to Denver last year and needed to find a vet for my old 10 year old pooch. I'm very picky about vets obviously because penny has been my best friend since I was SIXTEEN years old. In January she had some trouble with her eye and they had me coming in whenever I needed and took such great care of her. Last month - the scariest thing happened- we found tumors on her mammory (boobies). We had to do a very invasive surgery (they fixed her while they were in there- I'm from Sweden and we don't fix our pets there so I didn't know until now that's what's best for all dogs just a FYI) her scar is about a foot long and it was SO scary for us both. Tender touch staff and vets were basically all involved calling me and when I dropped her off they were so reassuring (as I'm blubbering like a big baby) and when I picked her up her vet who did the surgery came out and omg she was an angel. You can really tell they LOVE your pets just like they love their own. They gave her a t-shirt to help protect her stitches. Thank you guys so much! Fantastic! Tender Touch has been taking care of our dogs for years now. They have been there time and time again for the good, the bad, and the ugly. I cannot express how unbelievable the staff is. I am tearing up writing this review. Dr. Barr went out of her way many times to accommodate the needs of our old dog Scout. She very professionally diagnosed and treated the ailments of an aging dog. While caring for him she also took into consideration financial ramifications. She offered spot on advice when it eventually came to end of life decisions. She was able to comfort us and reassure we were making the right decision. Dr. Barr and an assistant eventually came to our house when it was time to euthanize our old guy. We couldn't have asked for a better experience in a difficult situation. Dr. Graf has also been great. Our 9 month old (at the time) dog Lincoln "consumed" the arm off a teddy bear and became very sick. When we took him in Dr. Graf immediately diagnosed the situation and informed us it was time for emergency surgery. They were able to surgically remove the teddy bear arm and Lincoln made a quick recovery. Other posts complain about costs. Owning a pet comes with a financial responsibility. We have never felt like we have been paying more at Tender Touch compared to other vets. We always recommend Tender Touch and will continue taking all of our animals there. read more

Our little bulldog woke up with difficulty breathing. It was a busy weekend day, and I called to tell her we need to rush Gus (our bulldog) in to see her. No matter how busy she was, the second we walked in the door her staff instantly took Gus to triage and straight back to a room. She was able to increase Gus' oxygen levels and put Gus at ease. If I could give 10 stars then I would. Tender Touch is the best animal hospital I have experienced in the 10 years of animal emergencies I have had. I am so unbelievably grateful to Dr. Barr on all her life-saving hard work with my Mr. Whiskers. I went to Denver Pet Urgent Care the night before who were atrocious, my 7 month old kitten was blocked and near death and they did nothing at all but a X-ray, told me he had bladder stones and would need surgery. First thing in the morning I started calling around and several friends recommended Tender Touch, I called their prices were reasonable and they were able to get him in right away. I packed up and headed down. When he got their, his heart beat was slow and his kidney levels were extremely high. They immediately got a catheter in him, ran blood work and started IV fluids. Since he was in such bad shape he needed to have fluids, the catheter and be monitored overnight. They sent his records to ACCESS emergency animal hospital who had the most reasonable prices for a overnight ER. First thing I picked him up and brought him back to Tender Touch. His blood work had normalized and he was stable and they got him into surgery right away. It's been a stressful ordeal, butt heir kindness, accuracy, detailed medical care was extraordinary and everyone there is all smiles, jokes, and you can tell it's alot of good compassionate people there. I'm so grateful to call Dr. Barr, my new vet. read more

I love this place! Dr's Steele and Graff are amazing! We had a dog that was a terror to deal with and they always made it pleasant for him and everyone else. We had some traumatic experiences and eventually had to put him down - both doctors kept each other apprised of the situation and talked us thru everything. They helped us make the arrangements for him to be put down, sat with us, and were even thoughtful enough to make a "hand" print so we had something of him to keep. For our dog that is still alive they are great! When we have appointments they will sit on the floor with us and the dog and talk with us like nothing is amiss! This is a very caring, understanding and wonderful place to bring your animals. They love animals but also understand that not everyone's bank accounts are bottomless. read more

Be careful when you take your pets here! We used to take our dog to Tender Touch and when she tore her ACL, they gave us an anti inflammatory to help with her pain. Unfortunately, they mislabeled the bottle and accidentally directed us to give her twice the recommended dosage. This resulted in a battery of stomach issues that Tender Touch charged us thousands to diagnose and treat, but never fixed. When we took our dog to another vet, they immediately recognized the dosage issue. I called Tender Touch to look into how this happened, and they never called me back to follow up. It's been almost a year. Now that we don't spend our money on their overpriced services, it doesn't seem they care that they almost killed our little girl. Beware the high prices and potentially incorrect medication labels at Tender Touch. Bottom line: there are better vets in Denver. We switched to Park Hill Veterinary and were very pleased. I give them 2 stars because the staff are very nice and pleasant to work with, and the doctors were always willing to give us advice over the phone. read more

Long story short...3 years ago my mother gave me a Basset Hound for my 31st birthday. She was due for her 2nd set of vaccination and we had an appt for them on a Monday. The Friday evening my Clover started acting sick. I took her to a vet who said she was "fine" and sent me off. I took her back on Sunday as she was worse and got the same response from the uncaring vet. I had to practically beg him to give her IV fluids to get her through the next day when I could get her to another vet. I was referred to Tender Touch by a friend. They tested her for Parvo right away, and sadly she was positive. Doctor Graff sat me down, let me know her chances, how much treatment would cost, and what I'd need to do to help her make it. I left her at their hospital all day and would pick her up in the evening after work with instructions on how to care for her. During the day when I called to inquire about her they'd give me updates and never made me feel like I was an annoyance (and I called ALL the time). After about a week she pulled through. They gave me help with aftercare and called to check up on her. I'm so happy I found them. Clover is 3 years old now and I'm searching for a sibling for her. I'd suggest Tender Touch to anyone that needs a caring, experienced vet. read more

Hands down the best veterinarian I have ever been to. Our cat has been a regular there for the past 6 weeks. we got her from the shelter and her previous owners had de-clawed her. It was a horrible operation (performed who knows where) so her claws were growing back through her paws. Unfortunately, we had to have the process repeated, and Tender Touch understood this, and helped us so we could save the cat's paws. They have each taken a personal interest in our cat, even at times finding donated medicine's to help with our costs since we are in there 2-3 times a week to keep an eye on an infection. All of the doctors and vet techs are extremely caring, both about the animals and their owners. we are so lucky to have found this place. read more

Dr. Rose Barr is awesome! I took my kitty in today for some updated shots (we're driving across the country, then moving to Hawaii) and she was awesome.
