She needs a SOFT SKILLS CLASS - BAD !!! I would not recommend Acadian Ambulance because of this woman. She needs to realize that people in a crash or people that's are first on scene to assist victims need to be spoke to like humans. I would not hire her to work a snow ball stand and she sure does not need to be helping people in an emergency. Heavy set woman ! My wife has had the unforunate luck of going to the ER by this ambulance service. The transport is not the problem, it's the billing that is an issue. They appear to think that anyone over the age 65 uses medicare as their primary payer. I use USFHP which a Tricare Prime Program for those age 65 and older. It apparently doesn't matter if they are provided a facesheet with the corect insurance information or that I have called the billing department everytime that I receive a bill, and sent them letters trying to correct this matter,they still bill medicare. I just received another bill where they billed Medicare. I am begining to wonder if the billing department has a problem understanding English or they assume that I won't scrutinze the bill and just pay it. I have wasted enough time with the billing and have provided all the information needed for biling correction. So I will not pay them until they correct billing. read more

There crew B 801 there names are Keyanna nelson Paris kiper The dispatcher sent them to the wrong location and was very nonchalant about her mistake These ladies took every measure to get my client to the right location with any means necessary they called the hospital and let them know that they will have my client there even though her apartment was almost canceled. I would like to acknowledge Ms. Arial Brown in the billing department from the Louisiana office. I am a Hospital case manager who needed to obtain a quote for one of my patients who is soon to be discharging home and i needed to get a private pay quote for my patient. Once I began a conversation with her, i found many more questions to ask. Arial was very accommodating, informative, her voice even sounded like she was smiling. Arial patiently answered all of my many questions, and she even offered more information with each of my questions. This is a fraud. We live in a rural county and the only ambulance service is Acadian. I had a severe glucose drop on July 4th. We contacted the 911 dispatcher and during the course of the call it disconnected. We did not know if they were sending a unit or not. After what seemed to take a very long time the ambulance traveled at a high rate of speed past our house. My husband ran down our 1/4 mile driveway trying to wave them down. They finally turned around and headed into the driveway. They stopped at the gate and the driver advised "I can't come into the driveway, because of low hanging branches. You will have to bring your wife down to the end of the driveway or go get a chainsaw and cut the branches." My husband advised that I was completely unconscious and was laying on the front porch projectile vomiting. That I could possibly be aspirating vomit or could have choked. The conversation continued for a time until my husband informed the EMT to move the ambulance up the driveway, that a dead wife was more important than a scratch on an ambulance. They moved up the driveway and removed the gurney. They yelled at my husband to step away. They did not lock the gurney. It rolled off down the driveway and both EMT's yelled at my husband to retrieve the gurney. Between the three of them they finally got me on the gurney. They elected to leave the scene. They never revealed what hospital they were transporting me to. My husband went to get our vehicle when a "First Responder (volunteer program) arrived and wanted to start a confrontation, he passed himself off as an "Employee/Supervisor." of the ambulance service. The ambulance service called the County Sheriff's office and my husband was detained and taken to a hospital. Between the two of us nobody knew where anybody was at or what that person's status was. Finally after many phone calls we were both able to return home at 5:30am on July 5th. We have had ongoing issues with Acadian. I have been threatened to be taken to court because of a $4000.00 ambulance bill. Our health insurance continues to process the bills and they say they have only received one payment back in August. I have received an explanation of benefits showing that the bill has not only been paid in full but their is actually an overpayment that is due to myself and my husband. I have been lied to, have been called a liar, our insurance company is being called fraudulent and providing documentation to us that our misrepresenting facts. We did not have a choice on the service we could have used at the time the incident happened, but I will never use this ambulance company again. read more

I used this company back in 2014 after having a stroke. They transferred me back and forth several times from acute care to physical rehab hospitals after suffering a hemorrhage stroke. The service itself was okay. My issue is with the billing department. Never get into these people's system. I made payment arrangements and paid the bill in full. Now, I'm dealing with a collection agency. They billed me over $1,200 for an ambulance ride that occurred in Louisiana in October 2018. The issue is I haven't been to Louisiana since around 2004. I work and live in Austin Texas. The hospital I was supposedly taken to have no record of me ever being a patient. The incident occurred on a Saturday. My employer can prove I was at work, the prior Friday and following Monday. I have credit card statements proving I was in Austin the day of the incident. I paid the money due to them from 2014. Now, they want more for a service that was never provided. I'm having to waste my time getting their mistake corrected. read more

Never use. Very shady practices. They connive with hospital personnel to get the account by force, and they don't clear with your insurance first. Beware. Even when they have the information, they don't do the right thing and call your insurance, they give you a bunch of papers at your most vulnerable time, then stick you with the bill, which they still send to collection. By the way, even with documentation they deny any kind of agreement or concession. Just don't use, period. read more

If anyone EVER has to use Acadian ambulance/transport service I highly suggest you don't. 1. They were an hour late. 2. They didn't have a clue how to move my sister from her wheel chair to the gurney. I did it because they didn't have anything to "lift" her with. 3. When they got to the destination and opened the doors, she was almost falling off of the gurney, head laying on the side of the ambulance. She is 100% paralyzed on her right side. 4. They started to drag her out of the ambulance without righting her on the gurney. 5. They are the most absolute least professional people I have dealt with all week. 6. Don't send kids to do an adults job. 7. I had to supervise all movements of my sister because these "professionals" are only there for a pay check. read more

The transportation itself was fine, but my gosh the billing and customer non-service department is, by far, the worst I've dealt with in many, many years. They sent me a bill for over $1000, which was incorrect. I owed them nothing. So I paid them nothing, and called them and told them so. Did they fix it? No, they sent it to a collections company. I kept calling back, and they would not listen and they would not stop the bills or collection calls. Finally, my insurance co. got them to review the case, and when I called them today - after 3.5 months of calls, they finally admitted that I owe them nothing. Now, I need to verify that the collection company knows that, and I need to pull my credit report to make sure it's clear. I've wasted so much time due to Acadian's negligence and apathy. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, REGARDLESS!!! After being diagnosed with heart failure, my husband was transferred from one local hospital to another only a few miles away. My insurance company was billed $2,049. and it was then that we realized Acadian Ambulance was out of network on our Cigna insurance plan. After working with Cigna they paid 1,857. leaving a balance of $192. which Cigna claims is a duplicate charge. I contacted the hospital and contacted Acadian Ambulance at least 6 times. They claim that they don't "bundle services" and that we owed them and were responsible for payment. This service date was 12/14/2020. It is now June, 2021, I have been dealing with this very rude, smart mouthed company since then with absolutely no cooperation from them whatsoever. They continue to bill me and have actually threatened to turn me over to collections! For $192. this seems ridiculous and down right wrong. Cigna has already paid them additional funds, beyond what they would pay to any other company but will not pay for a duplicate charge. Well, now they have followed through on their threats and turned us over to a collection company. This is a shady company that I personally would never use again if my life depended on them. Forms were filled out improperly by the two employees, causing a need for three appeals to get the claim accepted by Medicare and my secondary insurance. If we could possibly give a lower rating, we would. Our gripe was not with the field service in any way, their techs were very good. But, customer service....God Almighty! Absolute worst medical related company we have EVER dealt with. One word of advice is to watch the billing and interaction between Acadian and your medical insurance. When questioning the claim denial, it was discovered that the physician checked the wrong box. Our insurance told us how to handle, Acadian concurred. We submitted everything as required. Acadian then sent the bill to collections and told us everything that they had concurred with was against their policy. Thankfully, our insurance company will handle everything from here out with the folks at Acadian and we can wash our hands of them. Perfectly fine underpaying and making sure you work additional hours that are unrequested. Which is fine if you like that sort of paid slavery, but is not okay for people seeking freedom from their underpaid and (from the company) unappreciated work. Managing stress and relief from tyranny is important. While our country is republic this company is very much dictatorship. While they expand faster than the Greeks they have not learned from the Greeks - as they require unappreciated staff to mandatory overtime when they have ample abilities to retain qualified employees but dont due to petty on duty supervisors that sleep with their employees (I'm looking at you Rusty Woods). Additionally; they violate our country freedoms (require you to write a letter to apologize as a form of punishment (this is not in their worker agreements (this does still come with a form of write up))). Poor skill and poor managerial ethics are a requirement to excel here. read more

If you have the choice to choose another ambulance service other than Acadian, do so without hesitation. This is a company with billing and customer service issues. Their billing rates for services are astronomical and customer service reps are rude and unsympathetic. I provided them with insurance information prior to transport. They issued claims to the wrong insurance company (not sure where they got address/company they used), issued another claim 11 months later, couldn't communicate terms to the insurance company, and then blamed the customer for non-payment before it was re-adjusted. They were professional, cool, courteous; and they got me there quickly and safely. Casey my paramedic rode in the back with me, and we had a great conversation. Despite the fact he was completely mobile and my father was there and able to provide transportation- our options were not disclosed nor were we informed of our right to refusal. 5 minute Acadian Ambulance ride with no need of assistance, IV drip, or emergency situation= $815(base rate) + $37.50(for 3 miles)= $852.50. If I could post this review with NO stars I would. This company deserves negative ones. An Acadian team was dispatched around 2:30 am last Saturday night to transport me from the Seton Southwest ER to Heart Hospital. They were due to arrive in TWENTY minutes. I'd already been lying on what felt like a cast iron cot for over two hours for treatment and waiting for a room to become available at Heart Hospital. Those dudes took nearly THREE HOURS!!! to arrive. When they finally blew in, they seemed high as kites. They took at least five minutes recounting bizarre adventures to the ER staff like crossing the median on MoPac to try to chase down a crazy man who had done so. He outran them. Somehow they ended up on 35 (how do you possibly figure 35 into any route from Lamar down to Oak Hill?) where an accident held them up. During the TWENTY MINUTE trip north, the attendant laughingly told me they'd had to double back to Heart Hospital at some point because they'd lost some paperwork and then find a gas station because they were running on empty (suprise!). He seemed to have no idea of the inconvenience they caused ME, and I was in too much pain and too sleep deprived to think to sort him out. TWO FRIGGIN' HOURS AND FORTY EXTRA MINUTES I lay there while they played cops and robbers. When we finally got underway, I discovered their ambulance looked like something left over from VietNam. If it had any springs, I wasn't aware of them, and their cot felt even harder than the one in the ER (which really wasn't bad, but lying flat on my back for hours on any bed triggers major back pain), and the streets the driver chose felt like they were in Aleppo. Yes, I know many streets in Austin are like that, but I don't generally travel them on a sheet of plywood propped in a buckboard. IMO, both those cowboys should have drug tests and be severely disciplined or dismissed. They have NO empathy for patients and are a menace to public health. If this is typical of Acadian Ambulance Services, they do not deserve their license and should be investigated. read more

Stay away, I was forced to use them to transfer from a subpar 24 hour facility in Pearland to a legit hospital in Houston. Knowing that ambulance rides are not covered by my insurance, I flat out refused to accept the ride and stated to the NP that I would be driving myself. They blatantly refused and even got a security guard involved so I wasn't able to leave the room! Finally, the drivers began a spin saying it would be a complimentary ride. I asked the NP and she nodded her head with agreement. By now I was tired and decided to put my trust in the nurse. Unfortunately, 2 months later I receive a bill for 1,500.00 for a simple ride. I tried to contest the bill but was told that there was no evidence of it being a complimentary ride. Of course I get screwed over as the patient. I tried to get a lawyer involved but because there was no proof I had no case. read more

Then I find out after the fact they are not contracted with my insurance. Also the bill was disgustingly high. All they did was move her. No medications, no IV, nothing. Just supervise her for risk only. When I asked for an itemized bill I got a base charge of over 2000 with no coherent explanation. Now I have to try and get my insurance to pay this bill that is highway robbery. As a medical professional, I rely on Acadian to transport one of my clients to and from my office twice a week. His appointment time has remained the same every week for the past several months. Yet, despite knowing when his appointment is finished, they make this disabled gentleman wait anywhere from 15 minutes to 1.5 hours before he is picked up, and often wait in the ambulance outside the office for several minutes before coming into the suite. This requires extra attention from office staff that would otherwise be spent doing clinical work. Additionally, there have been times when Acadian staff has shown up at the office to pick this gentleman up only minutes after he started his session, saying they received a call that he was ready despite no call ever being made from the office. There appears to be a level of disorganization and a lack of communication between dispatch and the drivers. They are unreliable and according to this gentleman, at times unsafe. I, unfortunately, am at the mercy of these drivers to transport my client, but thought it was important to share our experience with this company. I could let this type of behavior slide on rare occasion, but it seems more often than not I am having to track down these drivers to ensure that he is picked up in a timely manner. read more

My husband was transported on the 7th of June and released from the hospital on the 12th of June for severe pneumonia. On the morning of the 18th (less than a week after release)...he gets a call on his phone from Acadian Ambulance THREATENING him that if he did not agree to monthly payments at that moment that she would send him to collections. Not only have we not received a bill from this company (less than 15 days after service) we did not even have a clue that this was the company that transported him. This (understandably) upset my husband (who does not need to be upset at this time) and I believe it is HIGHLY unethical and poor business practice. I will make sure that I inform all friends and relatives of this service as well as Legacy ER (who called on their services). read more
