This is a real review, and I'm a real person. I contacted…read moreHomeWell in early April 2025 to try and set up respite care for my father after spending 2 weeks at St David's in the ICU and another 2 weeks at the Weselyn Rehab. I called and was greeted by Robin. She asked for some basic information from me and shared which services HomeWell could provide. I gave my contact information and was quickly called back by Ashley. Ashley and I discussed my father's situation, how I lived in California, and the services I thought he'd need. Ashley was very transparent about services, pricing, availability, and obstacles we were going to navigate. I felt like she understood my needs and my father's needs, and a custom approach was being taken to the care we were going to receive. Over the few weeks, my father had several caretakers, and he enjoyed the care and conversation he received from Ericka, Hannah, Shiann, Emile, and Nicole! Thank you, Ashley, for the constant communication and daily updates. If anyone is looking for help with daily care, whether for a few hours a day or 24/7 care like my father, I wholeheartedly recommend calling Ashley and Robin to see if their services are right for you.

They did not shower him as often as they said they would. His skin was always in horrible shape. My mother and I were there every other day, sometimes more and I think that's the only reason he got the level of care that he did. They never shaved him. They were understaffed all the time. They don't pour the water to them, so that was the start of my father's decline. When I confronted the asst manager about seeing my father's medical records after his death...it miraculously took 2 hours for him to produce that. We were told by a woman we trusted that the man was in the back editing it to show he had been given all his meds. The first huge red flag was they didn't give Jim his meds the first night there and my mother and I sat in the lobby for an hour trying to get someone to help us get dad his medication. Please don't go to this place or any Spring Hill facility, they don't care about your loved one, only the bottom dollar. You will constantly have staff turnover and never any answers! Oh, and the literal nail in my father's coffin... they didn't call me when they sent him out (his final ride on EMS) to the ER. A nurse that loves Dad texted me asking how he was and I said "I don't know, you're with him". She said "no they took him out last night". I asked where and THEY HAD NO RECORD OF WHICH HOSPITAL!!! So, my father with dementia was brought in with no medical records, no nothing and had been sitting not able to breath and on a CPAP for 8 hrs alone when I was only 30 minutes away! I got there as soon as I found out. We spent the next 30 hours at his beside with him as he died from pneumonia, sepsis, and a heart attack. And we never heard from the director of the facility so much as an "I'm sorry for your loss". We were told we would get our refund in 45 days... it was 4 months later. Awful humans.

We were frustrated with numerous falls, over several months, resulting in serious injuries. The proposed solution was to hire private-pay nursing, around the clock, which increased care costs tremendously! Moving into Poet's Walk brought about an immediate improvement! The medical team is alert and engaged. Within days, a speech therapist identified swallowing problems and made recommendations to modify her diet. Physical therapists identified diminished core strength and adjusted her care plan accordingly. The nursing team is alert and engaged, bringing us peace and lifting tremendous worry! Gibran Chambers is a "hands-on" Executive Director and he can be seen interacting with both residents and staff throughout the facility! Marvin Smith, Lauren Urbanek, and Kelsey Lang are the reasons we selected Poet's Walk--they responded correctly to the myriad of questions we asked. Further, they went above-and-beyond, working long hours to insure a comfortable and joyful transition between facilities. We can't say enough good things about our experience!

My grandmother is recovering from a fall that caused a temporary brain injury. We needed more help than I could provide and I was desperate. I found Care Renewed online and the reviews were all excellent so I called and Fritzi was in our kitchen in 2 hours to discuss care and had a caregiver for us the same evening. I finally had a good night sleep! The team that worked around the clock to take care of my grandmother was so warm, lovable and competent. I spent many hours there with them. They took care of everything in her home from laundry, cleaning, bathing to just hanging out and listening to her stories. It's nice to be comfortable with caregivers when they start out strangers and now feel like family. We had a previous experience with a home health company so I was reluctant to hire another. The former sent an aide that was sick and asleep when I stopped by. Thank you so much Ms. Fritzi for the care, attention to detail, hands on management, and the visits you made yourself to check on my grandmother. She is precious to us and you are all the best!

The first year that I was eligible, it wasn't worth switching from the company supplied medical benefits I had at the time. Things changed the second year and after getting valuable information from Greg, I switched to a plan that I've been very happy with. It's sad that our Government has made something so important incredibly complicated and hard to understand. Greg has tremendous knowledge and was able to not only answer ALL of my questions, he was able to educate me on navigating through this maze of details. The year after I switched, my wife switched to the same excellent plan that I have, with Greg's help. Picking a plan to manage your health is a HUGE decision. The Insurance Companies do a great job selling you on plans that are good for THEM. I want a plan that's good for ME. Since I've signed up using Greg, I've recommended him to quite a few of my friends. All who've talked to him have been extremely grateful that I referred them. You owe it to yourself to talk to Greg. I came to her in late 2015-after 13 years not only with the wrong diagnosis but also on not one, not two, but THREE wrong, highly addictive medications. She has helped me get off two, work with other doctors to get my horribly messed up medical history corrected (as much as can be done) and fight with my insurance company (when they didn't seem to understand why I needed an extremely strong anti-nausea med while SLOWLY withdrawing). I started out with Dr A for both med management & counseling-the frequency changes depending on what's going on-Maybe at some point I'll change; she already knows my history and I don't have to repeat it. I need that continuity. Her office staff are fantastic. They get to know each patient (on your terms-definitely not pushy and nothing regarding your session). Now, I chat with the Office Mgr as I come and go. This is a small office, any paperwork is done by few, so I also try hard to be polite and thankful for any help-a couple of times it has been way beyond expectations. Ive never had any problems but I know I can express my concerns & they will be addressed (I might want to wait till I've HAD MY SESSION FIRST, as my issue may have vanished as I calmed down ) Unfortunately I don't believe Dr A is currently accepting new clients-She MIGHT have a wait list or take a client depending on the situation. Who knows. However any recommendations that come from her staff (I didn't ask if I could publish their names) should be high quality. One option-if you are willing to split Med Management & Psychotherapy, at least w Therapists work in the same suite-I will try to get their info to publish. And keep reading as you should feel comfortable going to them.... If you call and a recommendation THIS is why you should try it out: 1. Most are from patient interactions or Dr A's own experiences with them-and we are picky. 2. Dr A has been in the Greater Austin area for almost 3-4 years, she has great connections AND is highly respected within the medical community. If you cannot get in to see Dr A, please feel comfortable that her recommendations have the stamp of SOMEONE personally saying "yes I had/am having a positive experience". It isn't a collection of Biz Cards for handout. When I did this review, I knew it would be the first time My Name would be published with a Psychiatrist or Psychologist and THAT WOULD BE FINE. It's hard to do public reviews for this (not just HealhGrades or Vitals) but these are needed. We need more of these reviews so hopefully more will be done. I will eventually review my former Psychiatrist. I know I'm receiving wonderful care, and if I couldn't see her (and was still frantically looking) I know I'd get a good recommendation. If for some reason you don't-PLEASE let the office know and what happened-coming onto a Review site and griping does nothing. Dr A & her staff want each person to have great care: If she cannot see someone personally they want to know that person is still in great hands. When Dr A can start seeing patients herself-I'll definitely update this. PLEASE review more Psychiatrists, Psychologists & other Caregivers in this field. Let's make it EASIER not hard for all to find the best person. Blind reviews don't help enough.
