In a healthcare setting--especially one that serves children--professional appearance is important. While I understand that everyone may not always have their hair styled, there are more appropriate and professional alternatives. Honestly, this was one of the worst dental clinic experiences I've ever had. The service was extremely unprofessional, the staff seemed disorganized, and the waiting time was way too long for no clear reason. There was no proper communication, no clear explanation of the treatment, and absolutely no sense of care for the patient. I arrived with my child and thought we had walked into a bus terminal in a third world country. Waiting room was packed. People and kids were overflowing into the hallway. It was hot (in February) and smelly. Very poor ventilation. The front desk was walled off by plexiglass with the windows shut, as if for security. Quite the impression for a children's dentist. We checked in early. The front desk could not locate the 10 or so forms I had completed online the day prior. Note we booked the appointment almost a year in advance, and we received the forms to complete just the day before the appointment. I was asked to complete certain forms again in the waiting room. I have no idea if they located the 7 or so other forms, or if they cared. No one seemed concerned. The plexiglass quickly shut again. By now it was past our scheduled appointment time. I asked when my child would be seen. I got a lot of blank stares and non answers. I was told the practice has staffing issues, and I should expect a long, indefinite wait. Maybe 30 minutes, maybe longer. I was told to sit. We waited a very long time. When we were finally seen, I was asked a series of questions that I had already answered upon intake. This seemed odd. I was told they have to ask the questions again because they don't see the intake information... very odd. Inefficient? Concerning? Other than that, everything was great. read more

My Granddaughter was there on 6/20/2023 the oral Sedative she was given was not given enough time to work ,therefore when she was taken to the back she was scared and screaming "know know I want my momma ". After her procedure was completed my granddaughter said "I hate that lady she grabbed my mouth and she hurt me".my granddaughter is traumatized and in fear and today 6/21/23 my granddaughter is still complaining her mouth still hurts. She will never have to go to this dental doctor/office again. Sorry she was in this office on Monday 6/19/2023 Pay attention to your children when they come out of the back after having a procedure, I do not recommend anybody go to this place. read more

I'm basing this review on several visit. i have waited 45 minutes to an hour and a half almost every time I have come to this office. Most of the staff are rude. I even had one person working with my child who could not directly answer any of my questions and was unwilling to find someone who could. cavity fillings are booked up for anywhere between 6 months to a year, meanwhile the kids tooth is getting worse. I had no issues for the clean everything went great and they did a great job and the staff was very friendly. I did have an issue with a return appointment for fillings for my 5 year old. I didn't like how I was not told up front they will not allow you to step back with your child while they are having the fillings done (I would have been more understanding if it was an actual dental surgery and had to be done in a sterile environment) I just wanted to observe everything and be there for my kid because she can't speak up for herself and didn't want her to feel nervous or uncomfortable. That's what happened she didn't freak out but just upset I wasn't able to be with her. In addition everything else I also didn't like how I got a call the day before to bump myself from a 9am appointment to a 2pm appointment. I declined and kept my original appointment because I was not wanting to wait so long like I did last time. If the head of operations sees this maybe you can find another way to make the parents be able to sit with the child or offer some sorta app that can be downloaded with a passcode for that said child while their getting dental work done. There's so much technology available why no use it. I feel I really was not asking for a whole lot here especially something so minor and non invasive. Otherwise I'd like to think the policy is this way because there are things to hide. I was also informed that the straps thing I initially signed off on wasn't used in your offices then why is there a need to have a sign permission waiver for this? I was told no but I know what I read and signed. Yes, I was offered to speak to the manager and no I didn't because in all reality what she/he really going to do other than listen to me state my concern and issues. These pictures make it look like each child gets their own room. In reality, there is a row of about 10 dental chairs and kids are lined up in the same room getting cleanings and assessments done. In this area, there is one small bench for multiple waiting families to sit on and most have multiple children with them waiting. Screaming, crying, and chaos in general. We MUST do better by our kids insured by the state. They do not deserve to be treated in this type of environment. read more

It was a horrible experience. The waiting room was packed they were over booked and we got their early for appointment and still had to wait 15 min past our appointment time to get called back. It was just as packed with people in the back as in the waiting room. The assistant didn't even introduce herself or ask my 8 year old anything to warm him up, just acted like it wasn't his first time there. The Dr. had a horrible bedside manner and was short and condescending with me. He never asked my name or what was going on in my option just jumped in with all he wanted to do and while my kid was listening to scare him. Then he abruptly just ended and walked out. I left and they didn't give me paperwork or ask to schedule anything and they want to freaking do surgery . Then I called back and I have to go back to pick up notes. Calling you wait on hold 10 min only to have them call back. I would not recommend them to anyone and I will not go back! Speciality in peds means that you like kids you help put them at ease and make the experience a positive one, this office did the complete opposite. Instead they talked in front of my kid and to with him and scared him and he walked out and said I don't want to go back to that place. read more

Accent Dental is a great location for children and very suitable! The waiting room is very open and bright with a big fish tank to amuse the children as they wait. They also have a big screen mounted up on the wall showing family/children oriented movies. Even though COVID-19 has taken over a lot of establishments more within the months they made sure to follow guidelines! They have you call before entering the building, you check in, get temperature taken and wait in the hallway chairs or waiting room to be called. Restrooms were really clean and the staff just continue to love what they do during this pandemic. They dental assistants and dentist were very nice and made each child experience comfortable! I would highly recommend them for children! My son will continue to be serviced with them ! read more

Very bad experience today with the hygienist. Today, I took my son for a regular clean appointment. The hygienist led us into the room, then she took 1-2 minutes to finish her entertainment YouTube video on the work computer before talking to me. When she started asking questions, she was in a rush and asking run-on questions (3 questions in one sentence). When I took time to think about her questions, she clearly showed her impatience and raised her voice. During the cleaning process, she seems rushing and rough. My son complained about pain later. Also, nobody give me a chance to ask questions or say something. Overall, very bad experience. I think their level of service is down the drain since they moved out of Clayton. I will never take my son to this dental office again. read more

These people are so arrogant! I don't even understand how they became doctors. No compassion whatsoever. My kids were patients there for more than 5 years, I complained once for waiting too long after their scheduled appointment (45 minutes) and what was the response from the doctor: "you can leave if you want to, you can go somewhere else to have them checked". I couldn't believe my ears. I was shocked. So that's what I did. I talked to a supervisor about the incident, she didn't care. My advice: go somewhere else if you can before they tell you to do so. read more

My experience was more than delightful. We had a dental assistant named Zoe, who exceeded my expectations. My daughter went in for treatment, but was having pain also in another area. Zoe asked questions of my daughter, told her she would do x-rays and also validated her feelings. That meant more to me than the work that was done on my daughters teeth. Zoe didn't even know that prior to this appointment my daughter has had a lot of health issues, that has had my daughter depressed. And that made us want to give up completely, and everybody always tells my daughter that the pain will go away. Or that in there experience, or studies show that; and no one seems to understand but Zoe. She understood that my daughter can only tell you the pain and issues that she is having. NO ONE else, but Zoe from Accent Dental acknowledge my daughters concern, validated the issue, and made sure we understood everything pertaining to what it could be and what they will do to try and find out what it is. She did just the opposite of what doctors and dentist and specialist normally do. Zoe, you made our day more than you know and you strengthened my faith in beginning to trust the medical people again. People really don't understand what a simple thing like being validated means to someone who feels like the weight of the world is on them. Thank you again Zoe, You are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!! I love this dentist office! My young mini-mes have been coming here for the past year, and we always have a really pleasant experience. I know, I know, it's a dentist office. How good could it be? Good. They're a pediatric dentist office, so there's toys and a movie always going. They send out an email to remind you of your appointment, but 1000 times better, they text you!! You sign up for it, so if you'd rather not be bothered via text, that's ok. I on the other hand will forget. I write it down in my 2 calendars, but will everything that goes on in life, I will still forget sometimes until 10 minutes before. They text my the day before mini-me's appointments, and then that morning too. So awesome. The dental hygienists are good with kids, as they should be, but you know, there's always the one that is a downer. I've never had that experience here. The dentists explain everything well. They just have really good employees. They run ON TIME!! HELLO! An office of any sort that runs on time? What is this world coming to? Yes, the longest I've ever waited past our appointment is 10 minutes. This is phenomenal, but even more so because it's kids we're talking about. Finally, the receptionist is amazing. I wish I knew her name. She is the most kid friendly, parent friendly, kind, pleasant woman I've ever had the pleasure of having my insurance information taken by. I have been here a couple of times for my kids. The staff are really nice and try to make the kids feel as comfortable as possible. At the end of the visit you get a sticker and a toothbrush. The parents are allowed to sit in the room with the child. They have a no restraining policy. So they don't use any devices to hold the kids down. There is a television in the waiting room and they play kid movies. My kids like it too so it's a win win when we go to the dentist. read more

The practices here are not inclusive of same sex families. I called this location to schedule my 2yo son's first ever dental appointment. I spoke to Brenda and gave the usual insurance information. Brenda already knew my name and asked for my son's father's name. I told Brenda my spouse's name and gave her my wife's name. Brenda then proceeded to ask who the legal parent is and I told her that we both are. She then asked if I actually gave birth to our son. I told her that we are both his parents. She proceeded to ask if we were on our son's birth certificate and if my wife had legally adopted him. She continued on to say that the reason for her questioning will be clear later and that laws require a legal parent or guardian to be present with the child. She then said that no one will ask for a birth certificate at the office though. I am certain that if I had given her a man's name when she asked for my son's father's name, she would not have asked any other invasive questions regarding who gave birth, his birth certificate or if myself or my wife legally adopted him. We did not feel safe bringing our son here after this experience and didn't know what to expect in terms of treatment of our family. I decided to call and schedule him elsewhere and was simply told that a legal parent or guardian must accompany the child. The process to scheduling his appointment at the other location was much shorter and didn't involve staff validating us as parents, simply because we are a same-sex family. read more

Immediately after signing in, I was presented with a restraint consent form. I made it crystal clear I did not feel comfortable with that. After repeated attempts by staff to get me to sign this form, I finally threatened to leave. After an hour and a half of waiting, we were finally called back, only to wait another 45 mins. We were then told we would be rescheduled for a month later to have 2 cavities filled! When I complained to the assistant, she smirked and mentioned that I would have a hard time finding another dentist due to my daughters insurance.
