We joked around as we took care of the necessary paperwork. Soon after I was taken in the back to get my ex rays. It was painless. Then she led me to the room were she took more ex rays and cleaned my teeth. She polished my teeth and introduced me to the dentist. The dentist was very nice as was everyone else. He looked over my teeth. He made a few more assessments. He complimented my teeth and said he will see mee in 6 months. I was very impressed with all of the staff. They were exceptional. I personally dont like going to the doctor or dentist. I don't have any childhood trauma. But I don't care for going. I didn't express this to them. But they made it a pleasurable experience.

There were a few upselling attempts that I always despise at the dentist. No hard feelings though. My dentist was professional. My appointment was at 3 pm, but I wasn't serviced until 3:20 pm; done at 3:45 pm. Other than that, the office is clean and easy to find and staff were kind.

Then they filled a cavity on my front tooth that I had no pain or discomfort with and afterwards, it's very sensitive to the lightest touch. They messed something up and just said I now have to use a special toothpaste forever and deal with the pain. I would have left them long ago but I can't find another dentist that accepts my insurance. If you have a choice, don't come here. Update: On my most recent visit, the dental staff was compassionate about my pain and made every effort to fix the issue. So far, it seems to be improved as a result of their efforts. The office manager contacted me in regards to the admin issues I stated above. He apologized for the hang ups but took no accountability for the repeated issues I've had with the staffs inability to complete a task that I do every time I come. If it was just this incident, fine, I understand things happen, but it's an issue every time I have an appt. To this, he suggested I find another dentist then. I do like my dental hygienist though, so do I find another dentist bc I don't like their admin staff? A staff that's contracted out to a call center. Doesn't matter anyway, nobody else takes my insurance.

I returned in 2025 after moving back to STL, and had an absolute nightmare of an experience. I had two shallow cavities I did not feel- they filled them, and they were a little sensitive after so I brought it up at my next visit. The hygenist said it was because the filling had not cured correctly. They replaced the filling in one tooth, and the pain increased. I asked them to replace the filling in the other tooth, and the pain increased. I ended up needing a root canal in one of the teeth, which I got done at a seperate endodontist. I had the crown placed by Soulard, and got it adjusted by a different dentist. One of the dentists at Soulard had repeated difficulties getting me numb, which I have not experienced at a different dentist. I've had repeated trouble with cheek biting while chewing after getting the crown. This office does not have an emergency phone line and their office closed at one point due to a computer crash. I emailed the office about my concerns and did not recieve a reply. I would absolutely not reccomend them. Everyone is friendly, but after having my teeth looked at by other dentists/endodontists, it seems like either their equipment is not up to date enough to give a clear picture of tooth nerves or they are just not good at reading the various pictures/xrays. If you need anything other than a cleaning go somewhere else. I'm sorry to have to leave this review because previously I really liked going here. I hope they make changes to improve patient outcomes.

I am writing to respectfully follow up, as I have not yet received a response. I am requesting reimbursement for the $300 I paid out of pocket for my recent visit. My concern is primarily the lack of communication regarding the visit being treated as a patient-pay expense. Had I been informed of this in advance, I would have had the opportunity to make an informed decision about whether to proceed with the appointment. I understand that patients with in-network insurance benefit from negotiated rates between their insurance providers and the dental practice. I also specifically asked on August 5 whether a reduced rate could be considered, but I did not receive a response to that question. I believe it is important for patients to be informed of their financial responsibility before services are provided, particularly when a visit will not be processed through insurance as the patient may reasonably expect. In my experience with healthcare providers, insurance information and expected patient responsibility are typically confirmed before treatment. I have been a loyal patient of South Hampton Dentistry for many years and have always valued the quality of care I have received, particularly from your hygienist. Had the circumstances been communicated to me beforehand, I would have been willing to discuss a self-pay arrangement and would have continued receiving care at your practice. I hope South Hampton Dentistry will take these circumstances into consideration and work with me toward a fair and reasonable resolution.
