I have been taking my kids to this office for years, but over the last year the quality of care has gone downhill. Appointments are continually pushed back for months at a time. The final straw was this past December. My daughter was seen and diagnosed with two cavities, but we were told the soonest they could treat them was June. At the time she wasn't in pain, so I trusted their guidance. Fast forward to now--she was just fitted for Invisalign, and the pressure caused severe pain in the teeth with the cavities. She was crying and in extreme discomfort. I contacted the office explaining the situation and was told they still could not see her any sooner. There was no emergency accommodation, no concern, and no attempt to help. We were simply told to find another dentist. Allowing a child to go six months with multiple cavities and refusing to help when they are in obvious pain is unacceptable. This office showed zero compassion or urgency, and it's clear they do not prioritize their pediatric patients' well-being. I will be pulling my kids from this practice. I would not recommend this office to any parent who expects timely care and concern for their child. read more

They got too big for their britches and can't handle the volume anymore due to staffing issues with doctors. They have canceled on me twice now via text message and then when we call right away to reschedule, they are scheduling six months out. DO NOT USE ANY OF THEIR OFFICES!!! This is now the third time they have called to cancel my apts the DAY OF and can't get me in for another 3-6 months. They lie to you about how much you're going to pay. When you walk in and ask for a total they will tell you a number (like $45) and you get to the check out and it will be over 100. What do they say? Oops sorry we quoted you wrong. It's a horribly run office. Also my daughter had her tooth broke in half and it was sooo sharp. She just happened to have an apt that day for a regular cleaning, I called and asked if I could get her in sooner or if they could take it out/shave it down at the cleaning. They said just come in at 4 for the cleaning and they would take care of it. I got there and they looked at me like I had three heads because WHY would I think they take out a sharp infected tooth at 4PM when they were about to close?? Come back at our next apt in 3 WEEKS! Several other reviews pointed this out, this practice has had huge issues with scheduling. When we have gone, the experience has been great. However, I got a call for my appointment in March (purposely scheduled over Spring Break, 6 months out) that they could not accommodate that day anymore. Okay no problem, can I get a similar time? They had absolutely nothing for another month and half. I'm annoyed, but I schedule. Rescheduled appointment was for this Friday. I take off work to accommodate the new time. I just got a phone call that the doctor has an emergency, and is canceling appointments the rest of the week. Ok, no problem, emergencies happen. Do you have anything available next Friday? She says they do not have anything until AUGUST. I am dumbfounded. I let her know my kids need to go to the dentist on a regular basis, so we are going to need to find a new one. No problem she says! I'll send you the release forms right now. In summary, if you are into keeping a schedule, this is not the place for you. 'm looking for a new dentist for my kids. I'm very upset about St. Louis Pediatric Dentistry. After an extremely long wait for care, today I had an unfortunate experience with them. They are suddenly sending out unsolicited text messages asking you to click a URL and enter personal information -- very similar to what identity stealing scammers do! When I called to complain, they confirmed this is their new way of serving customers. They say they will refuse to treat my child unless I relent and submit the information today online to some third party I've never heard of. To make matters worse, during the conversation their office staff disclosed my child's name and appointment date over the phone without verifying my identity first. This seems like a major privacy breach and potentially a HIPAA violation. Never click on suspicious links and always prioritize your privacy and security! Don't allow people to push you around, believe their excuses, or pressure you for information because these are the tactics scammers use. Do not use these providers for your kids dental care. They are very dismissive. They are very racist. My kids are biracial. They have been treated differently depending on which parent takes them to their appointment. Needless to say when the parent of color takes them to their appointment they are treated poorly and given suggests and excuses on why they should find a new dentist that make zero sense and excuse it as office policy. I switched to this practice in 2024 and we visit the Ladue Office. Everything is ok going for regular cleanings for my child and check-ups. I would avoid using this office if your child has any sort of Dental Trauma. My child fractured his 2 front permanent teeth and needed caps. Although they worked us into the schedule last minute, the experience could have been better. My child is 7 and was having a hard time with the experience. The doctor became very short with us and frustrated because he was acting like a child who wasn't holding still. It would have been nice if she did not have to remind me constantly that she worked us into the schedule, as if she was providing a free service. I tried to express to her that he may have had problems breathing the nitrous oxide through his nose, she shut me down, and did not take into account his health history of year round allergies and he does have problems with a stuffy nose constantly..also as she was doing the procedure several times it appeared that one of his nostrils was being smashed closed by the nose piece that was not exactly covering both nostrils. Then I got lectured for her observing that most children do better with parents not in the room..I told her she could have asked me to leave the room so things would go smoother. She had to abruptly end the procedure because of his continued agitation with the procedure, but it would have been nice to have this stressful experience, with more sympathy and less lecturing and condescension. The doctor could really work on her bedside manner. I won't be back to this office again. read more

The office staff is not friendly or understanding. My insurance info changed and they called me with less than 24 hours notice to inform me that I need to have it updated by 24 hours prior to the appointment or I would be charged a $25 cancelation fee per kid. Well clearly that's no longer possible to avoid the fee considering they wait till after the 24 hour point to even obtain insurance info. So seems they are clearly setting you up to be charged. I did not have my insurance card on me at the time of the call so I told them I would call them back with it when I got home however before I made it home, I had broke my phone and couldn't call them so I went straight to the phone store to get the phone fixed and after I got my phone fixed, I called them immediately and gave them the insurance information. They ran and told me that the policy number was not correct. Immediately, I started searching for the correct policy number, but since our benefit year just rolled over, the dental insurance company had not sent us our new card yet. I called the office back and explained to them that I do not have the new insurance card yet so without that, I do not know the new policy number and asked if I could reschedule for a different day. They said sure but you're gonna have to pay $25 per kid for canceling. I understand the concept for having a cancellation policy, HOWEVER, in a situation like this, it is completely absurd for a business to charge you that fee, knowing that not having my insurance card mailed to me was completely out of my hands. They were not concerned about being helpful. They should be calling patients prior to the 24 mark to prevent patients from getting nailed with a fee that is so unnecessary. I tried to explain this to the office manager who was not willing to come to a mutual agreement on the situation. She did not care so I requested to speak to one of the dentists being that they are the ones that came up with the policy to begin with. I wanted to have the chance to explain to the Dr that yes, I understand the reasoning for the policy but sometimes there are situations out of the patients control. She informed me that none of the Dentists would give me a call back and have a conversation but I could send an email if I chose to do so but that was my only option. Let me just say, I live in O'Fallon and there is literally a dentist on every block of town so I will gladly just take my business elsewhere and not deal with people that have are petty and have rules that they are beyond strict about with zero exceptions. I also don't care to do business with people who have rude office staff. People shouldn't be treated that way. Sad to see they are so willing to cut ties and lose patients over $25 dollars. I have three kids so they are losing 3 patients and instead gaining a negative review instead. This all could've been easily avoided had the dentist made some time to have a phone conversation with me. read more

The O'Fallon, MO location was the worst dental experience I have ever had in my life. When I did not agree with the dentists treatment plan and asked for options, I was give none. The dental assistant chipped my daughters front tooth filling while cleaning it and then the dentist came in and told me it wasn't chipped when I brought it up to him. I go to check out and then the receptionist said the dentist had set up a treatment plan for the tooth that "wasn't chipped". Then they called me and told me the dentist was not going to fix it for free and that I could pay out of pocket or wait 3 more months for my insurance to cover the filling. My daughter left the office saying "I guess I just won't smile anymore". So disheartening. We went in for a cleaning and left with a chipped tooth that I have to pay for. read more

I was given recommendations by a few people to bring my 3 year old here and they weren't wrong! She is almost 4 now and we have been twice and I couldn't be happier with the service we have received. The hygienists have been amazing and we love our dentist! They are so quick and so thorough...and you definitely have to be quick when it comes to toddlers! The wait time after we check in is very minimal which again...when you have a toddler, it's priceless. They are very good at keeping the little ones distracted with the movie above their head, the cool sunglasses, saltwater fish tank in the waiting room, video games etc. The only "complaint" I have is the front desk. The girl does her job but she isn't as friendly as everyone else in that office. I'll still give 5 stars though because you only have minimal contact with her. Thankfully. We went in for the abscess tooth and I had to call him back after he spent maybe 3 minutes talking to us and leaving. Was then told, oh yes, abscess tooth, probably beds a root canal. Went for second opinion and was told about a mouth full of issues and her are going to cost $$$$ because of his lack of care. He spent maybe 3 minutes talking to us. If you value your kids teeth don't go here! The second dentist was appalled at how much this practice missed. read more

While their setup is nice as far as appealing to kids, their dentist, not so much. They try to force you to pay like $65 to give your kid nitrous oxide and then want to spend hardly any time with them when trying to give the shot. Finally when your kiddo is still too scared to get the shot, after them barely trying, they want you to reschedule or take them to a dentist to be completely put under. She did not ask about how/what foods we eat instead detected cavities and said we need eliminate all refined sugar, juices, milks, etc. from my daughter's diet. She went a step further by saying any pediatrician would agree with her and that my daughter should be snacking only on fruits, vegetables, nuts and cheese. I told her how inappropriate and problematic I found her dietary advice to be especially because we eat for the most part healthy but I am not willing to restrict my daughters diet with the growing rate of eating disorder in our country. She said my only option then was to put her under anethesia (since she "hasn't been cooperative at past appointments") and fill the cavities if I wasn't willing to change her diet. absolutely do not take your children here. When I tried to calm Her down by explaining what they were doing was not another shot, Lindsey Reed said "Ok Dad.... you're role is to be a silent supporter" Then she was mad and said "there's no going back" because my 4 year old knew she was getting a shot before she came in and I shouldn't have told her that. When my 4 year old said she couldn't breath because of the suction in her mouth being so strong Lindsey Reed said our two options were to pin her down or put her under to fill a cavity. It was really important to me that my kids' dentist catered to children. I have to say, St. Louis Pediatric Dentistry did not disappoint. This place is so cool! From the minute we arrived, my children were occupied. There's a lot for the kids to do and look at. When one child is having their teeth cleaned, the other(s) is preoccupied with games or the tv on the ceiling. There were games in the lobby and an amazing fish tank. The staff was also wonderful. Everyone was kind, patient, and attentive to my children. But the best thing about this place: fast. There were no long waits at any point of our visit. The overall experience was wonderful and I'm confident we've found our child's longtime dentist. read more

My daughter who is a special needs child, puked on the Dr. at a prior appointment. she acted disgusted, bothered and rude while my daughter was choking of her own vomit. We scheduled a surgery while she would be out asleep. We paid our 600$ deposit and were then called one week before her surgery and told the surgery was cancelled. We were told the relationship was now not a trusting relationship between the doctor and my child. They refuse to give us an actual reason. Same day we were cancelled we found a new dentist, who called them for our records, they were told they could not have them for 6-10 business days. Nonpayment reimbursement thus far. My children went here. We were told one of my daughter's needed 6 fillings. We completed the treatment plan and on our last visit here my daughter was extremely upset and I was upset being told I needed to hold her down so the dentist can complete the filling. I asked if we could give her more laughing gas and I was refused. The dentist said she could not stop and had to continue. My daughter was so upset. This was our last visit here. The dentist explanation was, "she's fine-shes just tired if laying here." My daughter's mouth was bleeding and she was hysterical. I have found a new dentist and asked for her medical records and received 1 xray as her medical record? Staff is friendly and make the experience as comfortable as possible with the children. Making small talk, providing prizes, games and movies makes the trip seem less like the dentist office. I like that you are welcome to go into the exam room with your child (another pediatric dentist in the area does not allow it.) However there is always room for improvement. At my sons last appointment, he got his teeth polished and checked. There was no paperwork to complete, no X-rays or fluoride, no concerns with his teeth and the appointment still took 45 mins. We were there on time and I feel like we should have been in and out in 30 mins. Waiting time in the waiting room then waiting for dentist could be shortened. I like that they send text reminders about appointments, however I wish they would send them after 8:00am. I'm usually up at 6:30, however the week of my sons appointment was vacation time for us and the text at 7:15 were unwelcome because we were sleeping in. Friendly, helpful, and the hygienists and dentists are simply amazing with young children. This is a follow up from my previous review. We paid for the exam, xrays, and cleaning to see a new dentist for my 6yr old. She needs a lot of dental work. The following week, From Friday to Monday (3 days later) called because my daughter was in pain in one of her teeth. Was told I could not be seen for more than 20 days, by Ashley the receptionist. That there were lots of kids that had the same problem and had actual appointments. I told the receptionist (Ashley) this was not acceptable and that they should not be taking patients if they cannot be seen for emergencies. I called back and got an appointment the very next day with another office receptionist (Lauren). Ashley then calls back and says since I threated to write a bad review I would not be seen ever. Asked several times for the dentist, Lindsey Reed to phone me about the issue, she never took any calls ever, never called me. Spoke with Allie the office manager and she assured me that my daughter would not be seen for ER visit and that Lindsey Reed was in agreement. A week later when I receive the letter from the dentist herself, stating I could not be seen because of a threat (not stating what the threat was either), mind you, this is the dentist who never once bothered to call, this letter says my daughter can be seen for ER visits for up to 30 days - that's a week later - and after her staff neglected to care for my daughters needs. Nice to put that in writing when her staff, even her office manager said otherwise. Do you think she is covering herself- yes she is. Its clear she does not care about people or kids - no one would let their staff behave or treat their clients so poorly. They would not behave this way if she didn't allow it. She let her staff put myself and 6 year old through a lot of trauma. I accidently put a review of this office on another pediatric dental office, don't you know that office actually reached out to me concerned and wanted to find out how they could help- they wanted to make it right. I am so grateful for this place. My daughter had a large cavity that i noticed during the Coronavirus shut down. This office got me in as soon as possible-the very first day they reopened. They scheduled her root canal within 48 hours. Because of her age my daughter didn't cooperate, but the staff we were working with tried so hard. They were amazing. We were then able to be scheduled for the root canal with anesthesia/sedation. Because of covid, There was a 6 week wait, but compared To the other local dentists this was actually "quick". During this time, I was in the office 3 additional times and on the phone/emailing staff about various issues we encountered. They all responded so promptly and I felt very well taken care of. Before initially going in, I read all of the reviews on yelp and I was nervous/disappointed by the negative reviews. I was worried about the quality of care we would receive based on the negative reviews. However I felt like this office was my only choice for PROMPT care. There were extremely long waits at other local offices (I called them all). As I mentioned, personally we had a wonderful experience at St. Louis pediatric dentistry. Had we had to wait for our regular dentist to reopen and get on her surgery schedule, my daughter may have lost her tooth. Highly recommend! PS. Kristen the surgery schedule and Stephanie? I like the office of this dentist, they have video games for the kids, a tv above their head, fish tank, etc. Really kid friendly, which is great for a pediatric dentist. The staff is also pretty helpful. I am not a fan of their policy. I went in their for a 2nd opinion with an in network dentist since our last one was out of network and had a high cost. Dr. Reed instead of filling the teeth that have cavities like the out of network wanted to do, he wants to cap them. When I discussed this with my husband and we decided we could not afford $800 in network(which is almost double the out of network) for cavities and caps we asked if he would just fill them and cap them at a later date. He has refused and if we can't afford it or want to cap his teeth we can go somewhere else. So that is exactly what we will be doing! read more

We have been to both locations and both are great. Big fish tank and TV in the waiting room for the kids, Starbucks coffee machine for me. There are TVs above the tables in each room so kids can watch TV while they get their teeth cleaned - and they are always showing an actual cartoon movie, not just a kids TV network with commercials. My son gets a balloon and a little toy duck when he leaves and all the staff is friendly and efficient. He even gets a thank you card after our visit. Love this place. read more
