This is a good read for anyone considering a guided fishing trip with Dream on the Fly. So, yes, no experience. I felt like the Karate Kid with his teaching technique. Presentation, mending, drifting, pointing the rod tip at the indicator, watching the indicator, casting and feeling the weight for whipping. It is pretty complicated, but his technique really helped me grasp the process and I felt pretty confident after an hour or so. I learned the hard way once or twice about respecting the power of these river trout. They are good sized and put up enough fight to break a line pretty easily. LET THEM RUN WHEN THEY FIGHT! Don't force them in too fast. Take your time, but keep your rod up and line tension tight. The scenery at The Owyhee River is gorgeous. In all, you will learn a lot with them about the river, fly fishing, and Idaho if you are a traveler. Great experience. We had some great catches and I learned so much. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a great fishing trip!

The three of us, retired women with modest fishing experience and a love for nature, instantly felt at ease as he selected the waders, boots and gear in the well-organized TRR store in Eagle ( when you go there, look up, you'll have a fish's point of view- watery blown glass ornaments suspended from the ceiling). We followed Mike's truck to the river where he selected a sweet spot clear of snags and sunken hazards. The birds and awe-inspiring panoramic beauty made focusing on the orange indicator a bit of a challenge. Mike gave us a quick and articulate tutorial on casting, mending and setting the lines, then he spaced us out on the length of the river where he grew several sets of eyes, simultaneously guiding our line work and alerting us to the bobber's behavior, which you see before you feel anything. I missed several nibbles because I saw a tanager or a flicker, but we all hooked and I landed a big brown trout with lovely speckles and no wounds from the brief fight we had in reeling it in. The big takeaway about a good or bad day fishing, according to Mike, is this: hooking and landing combine a multitude of very different skills, and many people who say the fishing was bad, missed the nibble or the set, and failed to catch what fish were there. To me, there is no bad day of fishing if you are in the care of a competent guide, supplied with proper gear, a spectacular picnic lunch (kudos to Tasso in Eagle) and in an exceptionally beautiful piece of God's country, which was the case for us. Now for those of you who believe the only value in fishing is catch, catch, catch, this review will mean nothing. Mike mustered all of his powers to switch out the types of nymph flies (we were nymphing this time), and we had a spare afternoon, but you can't make fish eat when they don't wish to. Nonetheless, we felt satisfied, happy and properly looked after by TRR's professional guide service.

Well, that stack of pooty is this rock. In a good way. Honestly, our total hike was 11 miles and that killed me a little. A lot. But, it was overall a shady, pleasant hike with a great view at the end! I maybe would've go alone, just because you'd be hiking 4 hours by yourself. There's a parking lot at the trail head or street parking below that if the lot is full. Bring water and a snack!

Wow, oh, wow. This hike is a gem. The signs posted throughout the trail refer to it as "Freddy's…read moreStack Rock Trail", and this is considered an intermediate hike. To Stack Rock and back from the trailhead, this hike is just shy of 9 miles. I went with a group of friends and it took us roughly 6 hours from start to finish. How to get there: You'll find the trailhead about 13 miles up Bogus Basin rd on the left hand side. There's a larger gravel parking area on the side of the road. If you're going in the summer months, there is likely to be a lot of cars there. If you're not sure you're at the right spot, take a look at the map posted at the trailhead to ensure that it says "Freddy's Stack Rock Trail". I went with someone who had been before, so we made it there and back with no trouble. However, if it's your first time going, I recommend you read up on this loop or go with someone who has done it before. The loop breaks off into lots of other trails and it appears that it could be easy to get lost if you go into it ill-prepared. Scenery: STUNNING. There are gorgeous Ponderosa pine, and Douglas Firs surrounding the trail, as well as plentiful amounts of wildflowers. There are also lots of spots that overlook the forest and give you the opportunity to take in its grandeur. The photos I've posted give you an idea, but don't do it justice. From start to finish, this hike is beautiful. Stack Rock: I mean the trees and wildflowers are gorgeous, but this is what you do the hike for! After hiking 4-5 miles, you'll arrive at the stack rock formation. It's a bit daunting to climb, so take your steps wisely and consider how you'll get down before you go up! The views from here are truly remarkable though and absolutely worth the climb. Other things: - It's about 20 degrees cooler up here than it is down in Boise (and it's a bit windy). Bring a jacket, you'll probably want it at some point. Even if it is in the middle of the summer. - Also, bring snacks, bug spray, and sunscreen! - I had (limited) cell service for a good amount of the hike. - Lastly, for the sake of safety...don't do this hike alone. You go pretty deep into the forest. Bring a buddy. Better yet, bring 3 or 4.

The trail was super picturesque. I loved how because it's in a gorge, it is almost all shaded. We chose it since we have young kids and needed a short trail. I had read that this was super kid friendly and do be warned there are some short steep dusty slopes, and ledgy areas, that made us very nervous with our 5 year old and our 83 year old relative. It's kid friendly in terms of it being short, but there are some nerve racking spots for sure! The best type of shoes for this would be something like hiking sandals that you can get wet since there are areas you need a good grip for hiking, and others where you literally have to hop over stones. The waterfall is breathtaking and we sat there for some time enjoying the view.

DO NOT WEAR FLIP FLOPS!!!!! Trail can have poison Ivy along the path. Do not veer from the trail. You will probably get your feet wet. You will have to walk over wet rocks and can fall into creek. Not handicap accessible. If you become injured, expect that it can take over an hour to get volunteer Ambulance and Fire personal to get you to the ambulance, then another 30 minutes to a hospital. the Volunteer EMS service can not give pain medications, so better be tough butter cup!! If you decide to take a path that goes above the falls and you get injured, expect an extra long recovery. Intermountain search and Rescue *IMSR) will have to respond from Boise assist you off of the hill. In the case of severe injury, Life flight will probably be dispatched to expedite transportation to a hospital. I have every thing from a broken wrist, broken legs, ankles, to severe injury from a person falling 30 feet from a cliff. That recovery took over six hours, IMSR, four wheelers, and life flight. Please remember that if you do call for emergency services, we are volunteer community Fire/Ems personal that respond. We take time out of our day to assist in your worst time. Please treat us with respect and if you feel you can donate to our agencies, it is greatly appreciated.

There were several toys that were broken, worn, or missing. Pieces of trash and small toy parts were on the floor. My toddler picked up a small piece of plastic off the floor and thankfully handed it to me instead of putting it in his mouth. Parents were not required to remove shoes in a lot of the play area, so kids were crawling and playing on a dirty floor. Several of the toys in the toddler section were visibly dirty. Overall, was bummed. They need to replace a lot of the toys and have staff walk the floor more often to check for small pieces of trash and broken toys. Staff was nice. We won't be back.

They go outside sometimes to play with chalk, plenty of toys to play with, they play out in the big main area, color, etc....and she is well taken care of. They ask about routines. And overall this has been an amazing experience and they watch your children as if they are your own! My daughter will snuggle up with them because she is comfortable and well taken care of. I use the flex day care because we don't need full time day care, only when my husband and I had to work at the same time! As a worried working mommy I am so blessed, grateful, and relieved I found this place! They are the best!!

For anyone considering booking a trip with Access Life's Adventures beware, Craig and Crystal Fletcher are complete scam artists. My husband I bought a guided fishing trip in Alaska with these guys last year at one of the local wildlife banquets in our area. The way they hook you is that they donate a guided trip (that you purchase) and then tell you that they will let you take a friend or family member at a reduced price. Not only are they scamming you and whoever tags along, but they are getting credit for all of these so called donations to multiple organizations. Although, we were actually picked up at the airport by Craig, many were not. There was no Lodge to stay at, we were placed in rented houses along the way and the fishing was horrible, and the boats we rode on were unsafe and broke down on us with no safety equipment, tools to repair them no real plan to get us of the river and no take out downstream of where we put in. The halibut trip was an even bigger disaster as they had no clue how to fish for halibut, did not have the proper equipment and the guide had no clue on how to use the bait. Craig was the so called captain and he put all the occupants at risk when he tried to swamp the boat in rough waters. The vehicles we traveled in were just as unsafe and we were usually overloaded with not enough seatbelts while traveling. We should have called it from the beginning, but put up with this thinking that the trip would get better. Ultimately we were left in Seward to get ourselves back to Anchorage and on our own unexpectedly when we told them we were done. Later checking with Alaska Game and Fish Craig and Crystal were never licensed in the state of Alaska. I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau, but sure nothing had come of it. I made contact with the Coast Guard, but have not as of yet filed a report. We contacted Craig multiple times and requested that our money be returned, he said that he would get his book keeper on this right aways. Of course we have never seen a dime from him or his business. I plan to take the advice posted on many of the other reviews and file in the State of Idaho. I also have an address for Crystal Renae and Keith Craig Fletcher 29 S. Stillwater Way, Nampa, ID 83651-7720. And a phone number for Crystal of 208-315-4879. This scumbag also claims to have affiliation with The Wounded Warrior Project, the Wildland Firefighter Foundation and many other great organizations. Usually, a boat or RV Dealership will prioritize the people who purchased directly from them over people who purchased somewhere else. However, that was not the case here. Bekah in the Service department got me in right away and was very pleasant to work with. Billy, the service manager was also very pleasant to work with. Both Becca and Billy were very helpful, friendly and professional. They obviously care about their customers. They got my boat in and out quickly and everything was done to perfection. If you're looking for a new boat or you're looking to have your boat serviced, I would highly recommend Idaho Water Sports.

Scott is amazing at what he does, keeps you safe, and makes you feel like family right away. This is a no frills kind of place but it's all thrills. It's right off the river in Horseshoe Bend. Everyone makes you feel comfortable and they all do a good job to make sure you have a great time no matter how confident or how nervous you are. They take you to the top of the hill and get you all hooked up and ready to go. They don't rush anything at all, they make sure that you are completely comfortable with the preflight instructions. To be honest though there really isn't too much to do because they do all the work for you and you just get to enjoy the ride. This is an amazing experience that you won't forget!! He was not just knowledgeable about the Stio gear but also How to use the gear. By comparison, I stopped by the Arcteryx company store in SoCal. Sadly, the Canadian brand appears to have ventured far from the their rugged roots. The store felt elitist and pretentious. Stio is the opposite. Same quality without the stuffy atmosphere. Stio is the Anti-Arcteryx brand you want.

This review is about the vomit, dog poop and trash in front of this store. Back in Oct. 2022…read moresomeone threw up in front of the store. Now 4 months later it has turned into a nice red stain on the sidewalk. There is always dog poop smeared all over the sidewalk. Probably from people not picking up after their pets, then it gets stepped in and tracked everywhere. Lastly, there is usually a plethora of trash in their planters. Old masks, bottles, cigarettes, etc... I let the employees know about the vomit right away and a month ago I sent a note to their customer service but obviously they don't care what the outside of their store looks like. I cannot vouch for their products. They seem nice. But for a store that sells jackets for $700, I would think keeping the outside of the store as nice as the inside would be a priority. I guess not.
