They made each appointment fun for our son and he looked forward to going back each and every time. After each appointment, they took the time to explain any progress that was made during his sessions. We would highly recommend Hudson Valley Speech and Swallowing to any family needing speech and swallowing services for their family.

My otolaryngologist recommended Hudson Valley Speech & Swallowing, and thankfully they quickly scheduled my consultation. I met McKenzee, an outstanding voice therapist and human being. She assessed my needs and provided me with numerous resources for practice and instruction. After weeks of effort, it became clear that I would need surgery although I had made great progress. McKenzee encouraged, educated and inspired me throughout one of the most difficult times in my life. She approached each of our sessions with enthusiasm and great preparation. I thoroughly enjoyed our time together, even though many times I was frustrated by my own physical limitations; and left each session with practical strategies as well as an increased motivation to improve. I have always looked forward to my voice sessions. Hudson Valley Speech & Swallowing is a very happy place. The office staff is cheerful and extremely accommodating. They work hard to explain insurance issues and always go out of their way to help with scheduling. I have witnessed several other voice therapists greeting their clients with the same warmth and enthusiasm that I receive with each visit. The staff genuinely cares for their clients and are very happy in their work. From experience I know that choosing a voice therapist can be a scary undertaking; your voice is part of your identity. I am extremely satisfied with my experience at Hudson Valley Speech & Swallowing. I feel blessed to have found a voice therapist and a practice that is caring, encouraging and knowledgable.

The class size was ideal and all classes felt very personable and easy to follow. Definitely recommended the class to learn some new sign language you can use with your baby/toddler and an engaging activity for your little one too!

When my husband and I learned that our son Stef, at 2 years old, had permanent hearing loss in both…read moreears and would need hearing aids, it suddenly made sense why his speech was delayed. We immediately engaged Early Intervention to obtain a speech therapist. We struck gold when we were matched with Corie from The Speech Studio. For all intents and purposes, Stef is a normal 2 year old boy and I worried about him warming up to and cooperating with a therapist of any kind. Due to Corie's approach and demeanor, it truly took no time for Corie and Stef to bond. Corie both literally and figuratively got down to Stef's level. She has never sat on a chair in my house because she's on the floor with my son directly engaging with him. She uses her folder and paperwork to create tunnels and bridges for Stef's cars, all while prompting him to mimic her sounds. He is her client. Additionally, as I work full-time, Corie emails me status updates regarding how he did in his sessions and observations she's made. She sends me resources regarding different ways to praise and encourage Stef in an effort to expand his vocabulary. Corie even made me a duplicate set of her flash cards, unique to the sounds Stef needs extra help with, so I can practice with him at home. With his hearing aids, Stef can now hear like a normal child. It is because of Corie though that he can repeat what he's in fact hearing. Corie did not ask me to write her a reference. I offered. It's important to me that other children with hearing loss and difficulty with speech get the same care my son has received and continues to receive from Corie / Early Intervention. I can't thank Corie enough for her work, her craft and for caring about my son's development as much as I do.

I was having balance issues and my doctor referred me to Kingston Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab…read more Therapy began about 10 weeks ago. First of all, PLENTY of parking in the Hannaford Plaza shopping location. Dedicated spaces with signage for Physical Therapy clients just steps from the front doors. When you walk in you're greeted by a receptionist who asks your name and the Physical Therapist you will be working with that day. There are a number of therapists and, based on your needs, one of them will be YOURS for the entirety of the course of treatment. I was fortunate to be assigned to Dr Sarah Prizzia. She's well educated in all things muscular and skeletal and extremely personable. I had fallen from a step ladder, landing flat on my buttocks. I was in pain because I had compressed one of my lower vertebrae on my spine as a consequence of the fall. The muscles in my abdomen, buttocks and each leg needed to be loosed up - stretched - in order to strengthen and coordinate those muscles used to walk steadily, safely and support my body. My goal was to feel that I could stand, walk and climb steps with confidence and stability. Today, I feel SO MUCH BETTER. Dr Prizzia gave me several printed pages intermittently during my 10 weeks so I can continue with the same exercises at home. Maintaining what we accomplished together with her guidance is essential to stay healthy and limber. My sessions were approximately 45 minutes long. I felt stronger with each visit. Yesterday, I traveled to NYC by Metro North and MTA subway with lots of walking, stair climbing, navigating busy street . At one point I realized, I was ambulatory without a cane and pain free. Yes, I was tired when I got home but pleasantly surprised that trip had been precarious, slower and painful 10 weeks earlier and yesterday it was a joy! Thank you, Dr. Prizzia, Kim and the support staff for their professionalism and commitment to a positive experience for all Patients. Excellent!

After getting a very expensive broken hand surgery, being in a cast for two months, and then driving an hour to my first physical therapy appointment here, here's the conversation that ensued: Receptionist #1: Do you have your prescription? Me: Oh! I didn't know I needed one. I have all my records from the surgery right here. Hand Therapist: I can't touch you without a prescription. Me: Oh shoot, I didn't realize. I wish that had been made more clear on the phone. Hand Therapist: (explains why she can't touch me without prescription) (At this point, random Receptionist #2 walks over and interrupts like Gollum) Receptionist #2: (Shaming) I did make it clear to you on the phone. I talked to you. Me: Wow, you just popped out of noowhere. Receptionist #2: (Irate, defensive) I did make it clear to you. Me: I'm going to just keep talking to these two because at least they're nice. Hand Therapist: (adding fire to the flames, huffily) Well, we're alllll nice. And it devolved from there. Learn some customer service, people. You just lost a paying customer for literally nooo reason other than you have no training in customer service. You offered no solutions, belittled, condescended, argued and shot back defensively. Smile, be nice, empathize, and the customer is always right.
