I agree with Alexander Q, dodgy company and I'm ashamed that it is run by Australians, as I am one. Terrible customer service and attitude. They treat you like you like you're the one being dodgy though.
I booked in there only for a month which was lucky. I booked online through hostelbookers and chose a "deluxe" double studio with private bathroom and kitchenette. When I got to the accommodation and met with an Aussie girl who worked there, she showed me the room and it was a room in a hostel with a double bed and a shared bathroom and kitchen. I said this was not what I chose and paid for. She got a bit angry - and I said if this is what you are charging people for a hostel room (260 pounds/week), you are really taking the p*ss.
She said something like ohh you've obviously stayed in London before. I corrected her that I have lived in London for many years previously and had been back for several months, I know what I am talking about. I said I either want my money back or move me to a studio. She said it would cost a lot more, and at that stage, I just wanted to go. She called the office and they did find me the studio I orginally ordered but the price would be now 310 per week. I was really tired and had no other options so I agreed to pay it.
She then said the new place was in Willesden Green, not Kilburn, which I knew of W.G. and didn't like the suburb much but though I would check it out.
It turned out to be far away from Willesden Green tube station (James Ave) so you had to catch a bus there and the accommodation is actually closer to Cricklewood, which is even further out. It is also not a safe place for single women to walk around at night and there is nothing of interest there.
The studio room was OK, had a bathroom and kitchenette with an oven and microwave and cooking implements and utensils which was nice. The TV didn't work though but I didn't bother with it.
Other things are they charge 5% credit or debit card charge, which is ridiculous and adds up if you pay 2 weeks or 4 weeks in advance. I insisted on paying cash.
One day I was home from work sick sleeping, and someone from the company barged into my room showing a new propective tenant my room, not realising I was there. I was a bit shocked as I wasn't clothed and I thought that is really bad security.
I had just started work and my work stuffed up my first pay. I told them about this and could show them the email from my work, and that I would need to pay 2 or 3 days later than usual. They emailed me back that the "landlord wouldn't accept this" and that I should get the money from a friend. I don't think so, I'm not 15 years old. Anyway I ignored that and paid a couple of days later and it was all fine. Oh and you never know who emails you as they never put their name on the email, its always just signed Accommodation London.
Another time someone from the company came around to early Saturday morning to collect my rent, even though I had arranged by email that someone could come around the following Monday. I luckily had my door locked as I was sleeping and I was still very sick, but he still tried to get in jamming his key in the door a million times and knocking on it.
I shouted out to f3ck off as I had arranged to pay on the Monday and had it in writing. He shouted through the door, well you can leave then, and stormed off. They sent another lackey around an hour later and he demanded to see the email on my laptop, which I showed him, and he kind of apologised. All this before 10am Saturday morning when I was really sick. I though right, that is enough, I'm out of here! I would not recommend Accommodation London for longer than a week, as the previous reviewer says.
I'm now staying at a very nice B&B in pretty Ealing close to the tube and shopping centre where the staff are lovely, I get a cooked breakfast every morning and my room cleaned every day. I don't pay in advance and I only pay for the days that I stay, not a whole week. And it's cheaper! Bliss. read more
