Sorry, I am still not "a fan", so cannot give more stars than three. I sincerely hope my experience was an outlier, as I know those good reviews here are not made up. Two additional notes for your reference: 1. As I said in my original review below, 2016 was a complicated year for us and 2017 was the first time we used a tax accountant. We may not be the most organized or experienced clients in any way. 2. As Honest Buck disclosed to me, they experienced some personnel change while preparing our tax return, which could be rare. __________________________________________________________ The bottom line: you may want to look up closely who you work with. Our experience last year was horrible. Full disclosure: our income for 2016 was very low due to life changes; and due to the same life changes, we decided to use a tax accountant to help us sort out the more complicated situation. However, honest buck wasn't helpful in any way to save my time, and as they charged upfront, I don't believe I should receive inferior service than their richer clients. Of course, maybe due to our low income that year, they were trying to send us a message that we should never go back to them. Long story short, here are what happened to us last year: - My husband and I ended up filing a 1040X by ourselves to fix the errors in our federal return, as honest buck used my husband's business's billed invoice instead of received payment to fill 1040 Schedule C. - We wasted a lot of time to send them all the information, and the only places they did not make any mistake are the forms that I sent them the filled forms directly. - They charged us for filling our state return (we moved to WA from a state with state income tax) and then told us they cannot do it but never refunded us any money or even provided any apology. It was very simple to file. I felt like an idiot through the whole process, as I paid some strangers money, shared everything about our financial details, wasted probably 50 hours+ time to get stuff organized in spreadsheets or forms to send to them, and ended up doing the whole tax thing ourselves anyway. Honest Buck was unprofessional and indifferent to us. Good luck to you!

The last one was $1,200 due to Rachelle saying I could file late for the extension but when I talked the the IRS, this was only for personal, not business taxes. This is something an accountant should know. I sent 6 emails and 2 phone calls in 1 1/2 months to honest buck asking to send the proof of extension to the IRS. I finally got a rude response saying she wasn't answering because I am no longer a client since I only use them for tax services and an extension was never filed. Highly recommend finding another company for your services.

Valerie's tax service employees are honest, straight up about several ways to file within the tax code and they finished tax preparation in a timely manner. Could not ask for better when stressing over taxes. Separately for a fee when we had IRS complications three years ago Valerie's Tax service came to the rescue with understanding all the extra filings, proof of paying taxes owed and what was not owed along with knowing the IRS lingo required in email and on the phone communication.

On Monday in fact. Today is Tuesday, so 6 more days and i could discuss their services. So I gave my name and phone number and left..so far so good, sort of..Ok the firm itself is an Endorsed Local Provider (ELP) of Dave Ramsey. I am a big fan of Dave Ramsey and his principals. I just received a call from the CPA office, a mere TWO hours after I left and they confirmed that the appointment was still on for 9 am Monday, HOWEVER, they would charge me a $150 dollar fee just to talk to a CPA to see what the costs of their services are and if I even would consider them as a provider. Any business that will charge a person to just walk in ask them what their services are and what the cost would be is just plain crazy. There are Lawyers, Doctors, all kinds of business' that give out free consultations. I only wanted to know what their costs were, but they are asking me to pay $150 for that, that is ridiculous. My advice, is to stay away from this place,, If I could give it zero stars I would. I am also contacting Ramsey Business Solutions and inform them about these practices from one of his ELP's.

I went to Yelp and checked out who could do our taxes and was close by! Sara was our angel!!! She explained everything to me over the phone! I took our information to her business and dropped it in a drop box so there was no face to face. She had our taxes done in a few days. She did a great job and my husband and I both liked her so much. We will use Sara again and anyone needing tax advice should also!

We had used them for over 10 years, give or take with no problems. In 2018, they did our taxes,…read moreand it was not until 2023 that we discovered our taxes had not been accurately done. We had a third party examine our taxes to verify that they were improperly done, costing us several thousand dollars that we did not owe. After several calls to them and going in person to their office, having them reexamine their work, they stuck by the work they had done. We gave them every opportunity to make things right. Unfortunately, they were unable to help. After going to the third party accountant, she was able to go back to 2018 and refile our taxes from then to now. Not only did we not owe the several thousand we paid in, but we got a refund. Starners did a very sloppy and lazy job with our taxes. We will never file with them again.
