At the address field information, I stopped and opened another tab to do a search for reviews on this company. I never finished or submiited my information. Literally 60 seconds later, I receved THREE phone calls from Accredited, within 90 seconds! I blocked each call but they immediately called from a new number. They had captured my information before I ever submitted it and started harrassing me immediately. Just goes to show, be very careful when entering information on the internet. This is a program for the person that doesn't mind breaking the rules and saying f the system. I, personally, could not handle it. From the moment I signed on the dotted line I had a pit in my stomach and felt anxiety nonstop. I will say, the representative I spoke with was extremely kind and encouraging, and also reassuring - that this was "the perfect" solution to my debt and 5 lines of credit. She may have been right, but it all felt so wrong. I absolutely could not deal with the ignoring of my creditors, and the fear of being served. Every time I brought that up she said "but you're paying for platinum protection so just send them our way, we'll go to court for you" sure - but what are the repercussions of that in addition to my credit tanking. After a week and a half in of AMEX stalking me and SoFi stalking me... they eventually offered me separate financial plans that I could negotiate on my own. AMEX went down to under 10% interest for a year and waived a lot of fees. I decided to cancel my program with "Beyond" which is the escrow service to take your monthly payment and pay your debtors (because Accredited is just the enrollment company) - cancelling was easy because no moves had been made to my creditors yet. If you can avoid it, avoid it. If you are out of options and have the constitution to be stalked incessantly and possibly served and not worry about a good credit score for the next 5 years - then go for it. I decided I'd rather live a debt-full carefree existence than a debt-full worry-full existence. Especially if I can negotiate with these creditors myself. Keep that in mind. read more

DO NOT fall for this FOR PROFIT "debt consolidation" company! I almost did but thankful I didn't! So I am no stranger to debt consolidation fortunately and unfortunately. I have done debt consolidation with NON-profit debt consolidation companies with much success. There were some red flags for sure with Accredited Debt Relief that I seemed to ignore at first when I initially signed up for their debt relief program. This is how the program works: They go over everything with your finances of what you owe, own and what your income in. Seems pretty standard there, sure. But it gets interesting, as you decided to go with their low bi-monthly payment and see some numbers of what they could "save you" which looked like fudged numbers to me when I think back to what I was presented with. They give you a set of instructions of what to do when you're starting out with the program. They tell you to STOP making payments to all of your creditors ASAP, yes to STOP paying creditors to purposely put your accounts in the past due status and into collections. The reasoning behind this they said is so that they can say, "Hey, this client cannot pay you anymore" and prove it by stopping all payments all together. In that period of time which is what they said would be anywhere from 3-6 months of non-payment we'd be paying into an account bi-monthly building money for Accredited Debt Relief to have an amount to negotiate with their alleged "good relationship" with creditors. What they do not tell you is that they won't be making any payments on your behalf for 2-3 YEARS! Yes, YEARS not months! The rep went over each page on the DocuSign with me and there was one page stating that legal action could be taken against me during the non-payment period from the creditors. I would be at risk for being sued, served legal documents and a lot of harassing phone calls for my delinquent accounts. The rep nonchalantly, "Oh, this RARELY happens and if it does, we have a whole legal team and will be there for you." Red flag. I didn't feel too good about this at all. I had a sinking pit feeling in my stomach that told me that this was NOT a good idea. He also told me that if I wanted out of the program at anytime that I have that right. He further explained that my credit score would suffer initially during the non-payment phase but assured me that I'd come out on the other side of it with a better credit score. I also got HORRIBLE advice to put all of my 0% promotional no interest credit cards on the program. All of that couldn't be more further from the truth. I woke up the next day still feeling uneasy about signing up with Accredited Debt Relief. I happened to go to the dentist that day and struck up a conversation with the dental assistant about my debt consolidation plan. She pulled me aside and told me to not do it because she got caught in that huge mess and her credit score never recovered. She endured servers serving her legal papers at her work, harassing phone calls and was living a very stressful life because of the non-payment route that National Debt Relief (another for profit company) persuaded her to do. I told her that I did a consolidation program with a NON-profit debt consolidation company prior and had a good experience. She really stressed for me to call them up again if I worked with them prior instead of Accredited Debt Relief. I quickly called American Consumer Credit Counseling that is a NON-profit organization and has been around since 1991. The consultant at American Consumer Credit Counseling said to me, "I get clients calling me all the time that are facing scary legal action against them from using these kinds of debt consolidation companies because they were told to not pay their creditors. We do not encourage our clients to do that. We want our clients to preserve their credit scores instead of hurting it further by deliberately going into collections and the past due status. We highly recommend that you keep making payments until we can step in and take over the payments so that your accounts are ALWAYS in good standing." I ended up going with them and they are more of a legit company. SAVE yourself and DO NOT go with this for profit company. I highly DO NOT recommend them for debt consolidation. I was told by the lady on the phone that it was risk free because if I wasn't happy I would be refunded everything but apparently not!!!They paired me with five lakes law to supposedly help cancel my debt and they are shit heads who didn't help my debt but made it worse! I have spoken with other debt negotiation companies and after speaking with them felt a sense of relief until reflecting on our conversation and not feeling totally comfortable moving forward. This was not the case with Accredited Debt Relief. With their experience and guidance and thorough explanation of how the program works, i feel confident in relying on them to square away my credit card debt. Their app even shows which accounts they expect to resolve first and how much money I need in my dedicated account to reach said settlement. Do NOT recommend. I didnt realize I was not going to get an actual loan but the ole bait and switch. Ive heard about companies like this who, if you're not paying attention, dont pay your credit debt but let it go in the red and AFFECT your credit score very badly. You pay them the monthly "fee" or whatever theyre calling it and eventually they try to negotiate with your creditors for less. This is not even guaranteed they can do THAT. So your credit gets TRASHED for many years, you pay this con company (there they make the profit) and you're left with more debt and ruined score. I just spoke to these guys. They do not negotiate with any of your creditors directly. The reason why the payment amount is made from the beginning without even speaking to you is because they use a pre set window of profit that they split with your creditors. We deserve companies that will at least look at the individual circumstances and not simply put your credit through an algorithm. I made an inquiry in Oklahoma, was called by someone in California and was told- take it or leave it after he tried to fear monger me. We know what happens when we don't pay our debts. We know the best an worst case scenarios. Its bad taste to grab someone who is beginning their debt relief process and tell them the boogy man is going to take their house. 1 star. Any program can do what these guys do which is the bare minimum and the rep agreed it goes into an algorithm. -The most they can get you to pay -while still calling it " savings". If you want your credit score completely ruined, creditors suing and harassing you and then getting hit with a huge surprise IRS bill at end of the year, then you should sign up with them. Otherwise withdraw funds out of your bank, quit paying your credit cards and when collectors call, tell them you're broke and can't pay the bill unless they lower the balance. We ended up paying about 14,000 to pay off a 9,000 dollar debt and then said they could no longer help us! They charge 25% of your total debt before it's negotiated! So to be clear, if you owed $10,000 on a credit card and they negotiated the debt down to $5000 they add on $2500 for their fee. No company can charge the fee until it's negotiated, so don't fall for their no fee up front as if they are more ethical than other companies. There are other companies that only charge 10 to 15% so shop around. Also, you can call your debtors and negotiate the payoff yourself, it's not hard. The power these debt negotiation companies use is they have you stop paying your bills but pay them in a escrow account. Also, they are just an affiliate of freedom debt consolidation, who actually does all the negotiations and they are under investigation and being sued for charging the 25% on debtors that won't work with them, so they have you negotiate. That's against their contract. If you do that, pay the debtor directly, don't do the negotiating then send the money to the accredited or freedom or any other debt relief company that's how they were getting away with charging the 25% when you did the work!
