I can't prove it but I'm having thoughts that maybe...? We are now having to look for a new company to come out and look at our unit at our cost so American Home Shield can process our claim. I woke up in the middle of the night, sweating. I knew what that meant..."uh oh...AC is out". I…read moretoughed it out for the night with fans and called first thing. They were booked up (No wonder with the change in the weather) but said they'd call later to see if there was any opening by chance. Towards the end of the day, after they closed, their guy was on his way home and texted me, "you at home? I'm heading your way and can stop by on my way home if you are there". I jumped at a reply to say, "yes"! He showed up. Asked me some qualifying questions about when it worked last, what it was doing, etc.. He started pulling tools out and making noises and removing panels and such. I was dreading the possible issues. I was nervous and that was an understatement, but he wasn't nervous or stressed. Just cool as could be. He was very "matter of fact" in his movements. I calmed down because i could see immediately that this was not his first rodeo and that he new exactly what he was doing. Whatever it was going to be, i was prepared for, because of how methodical he was. In the end, my capacitor was bad. He replaced it with an american made part that had a fantastic warranty. He put everything back together and when done, we chitchatted for a few minutes when he said, "Let me check on the temperature before i leave to make sure everything is good". He pulled panels again, hooked up hoses and just made sure that everything was running the way it should before he left. That was the selling moment for me. The double checking to make sure he left me all squared away. That was when i said to myself, "I got my AC people for life...won't use anyone else...ever". My experience with Gallagher's was so bad I am considering suing them. I purchased a minisplit…read moresystem for 30,000 dollars and later learned from another professional that this price is so exhorbitant compared to the cost of the unit that he thought they took advantage of me in an immoral way. What's worse, they never gave me a receipt or proof of purchase, which I need to get my warranty repairs done from another company. Gallagher's has yet again promised to order a part and fix it, then a month goes by and I don't hear from them and they don't return calls. They did it both times I needed warranty repair. The first time I lost airconditioning for a month when it was 115 out and got severely ill with life threatening issues. This time it was 105 and I got heat exhaustion. People my age die from the heat. So I have vvery serious health concerns connected to their service and in response Gallagher's doesn't keep me informed about why nothing is happening, which shows they have so little respect for me that they don't care about helping me avoid life-threatening issues caused by their empty promises! are they ever going to complete this repair, i am now wondering. And to top it all off, they were so sloppy in the installation that they damaged my house in a few different ways, and never took responsibility for it or cared when I brought it up. I have a roof leak because they left a huge hole! I had to put out about 1000 to fix the damage they caused in the install. Please stay away from this company. their work is not quality work, their prices are criminal, and they treat you with so much disrespect it is insane.
