Bought a 12 foot sliding door and a french door, and had major issues with both…read more Sliding door - we had been told that Westeck must do the installation of the door and were charged $2,200. They actually ended up outsourcing it to another company who had 2 people for 3 hours doing the install. They installed the door flush with the interior wood frame wall, not the drywall, meaning that the door is sticking out too far on exterior, and extra work had to be done to mask the interior issues. French doors - the jam/frame is not rigid, is completely flexible which is a nightmare to install. They need to make the frame rigid, by having a wood core with fibreglass exterior. It seems like just cheap plastic and the frame now is not straight. Management does not seem to care about customers and does not want to hear feedback on products.

Something seriously wrong with this company. They are unresponsive once you ask them about how…read moretheir U-value compares with other window manufacturers and show them quotes. To get a U-value down to close 1 you have to get triple glaze PLUS all the coatings which makes their windows completely. I've never had calls go unanswered and emails with no reponse. If you want overpriced windows and no customer service then look no further!

While the workmanship is great, the installer's communication with the customer is poor. It is as…read morethough the world revolves around him. However, Deanna is awesome, empathetic, and very willing to accommodate the customer's schedule. In an era where people have little time to wait around for contractors, the installer doesn't care about the customer. I had a very tight window due to work commitments and the installer was running late. I did not get a phone call as to when they were arriving. After about 20 minutes I contacted Deanna. She called me back to say "He's around the corner." It was another 10 minutes before he arrived. And when he did arrive there was no comment of saying "Sorry I was late." Ironically I don't even want an apology provided the installer clearly communicates an updated ETA. And, yes, in this industry I get that timelines change and traffic can delay. However, that is not an excuse to not call to explain you are running late, nor not showing some words of apology for holding up the customer. Would recommend the quality of work, Deanna's professional attitude, but the installer needs to communicate that they are running late.

I was surprised by the fast response and quick estimate that Jon gave us and after careful consideration we decided to go ahead with the project and are really glad we did. Jon and his crew took care of every little detail and Jon made a great job at communicating with us all throughout the process. He always did what he said he would do, came to measure several times to make sure everything was right, found us the right material and trim color to match our needs and took care of the installation and finishing. I can assure you this wasn't an easy job but Jon and his crew definitely exceeded our expectations. We are so happy with our new windows and will definitely recommend North Shore Windows to anybody who needs a window or a door. If you need someone to do the job right, on time and for the right price call Jon!

And it's a tougher, classier mesh that even offers UV protection, impressive. Tough, all because of their special magnet that really clicks which the worker showed us, not like the flimsy ones that we have. Something to consider for summer, as we all know how annoying it is to swat at those flies when eating all those yummy leftovers I get every day lol.
