I told him I was fully satisfied with him, his crew and the results. ARS was referred to me from a friend living in Redondo Beach and I'm glad I listened to her, thanks Daisy! I work from home so I had the opportunity to watch the 3 day project from start to finish. Prior to meeting Steve, I contacted 7 roofers, 2 stood me up, 1 quote was so high I had to laugh, the others gave verbal quotes or just a number on a posted note or a sheet of paper! My insurance company required me to replace my roof, so I had the unenviable task of looking for a roofing company. I remember helping with roofing as a kid which was dangerous in retrospect so I figured it's best to leave it to the pros. After reviewing Yelp, I contacted 4 companies for quotes. My neighbor's general contractor also offered to get me a quote from his roofer. Factors I considered: 1. Roofer's C-39 License (all had this) 2. Years in business (varied a lot) 3. Labor warranty length (varied a lot) 4. Cost for roof (excludes permit and repairs) - lowest quote was definitely an outlier and I wasn't able to figure out the reason for discrepancy other than that they used a smaller Sq footage for the estimate 5. Wood replacement rates (doesn't vary much) 6. Responsiveness to initial request and follow up (all of them were) 7. Whether they came out and actually looked around on my roof (some did) 8. Whether they pulled an aerial report to calculate square footage for the estimate (all did and sent to me) All of them offered the major roof brands (eg. GAF, Owens Corning, Certainteed) and use synthetic underlay. The more expensive quotes had very long roof warranty periods (eg 40-50 yrs) which probably isn't necessary unless you know for sure you won't move out or that your insurance won't force you to replace your roof anyway. My second choice would have been GA Roofing but the warranty period was only 5 years. America's Best has been around a long time and has a good reputation but they only offer the Owens Corning 50yr manufacturer warranty package, they didn't have other options that would fit my budget. Steve from Accurate Roofing Solutions made it clear that he had the experience to do a great job for a fair price. He's been in the business over 20 yrs and turns out he did the roofing for one of the neighbors across the street too. He was in close communication and checked in periodically to answer my many questions and look into some different options as I was comparing quotes. Once I decided to go with his company he scheduled a date in about a month. I wasn't in a hurry so I just picked a time he was in town. The job was completed in 2 days and Steve was there every morning, the inspector signed off on the 3rd day. Everything was left tidy after work was completed. I just noticed they even made the pipes sticking out of my roof match the color of my shingles! And removed a weird pipe that wasn't in use anymore. My other neighbor just asked me for a referral, his rental property is in the same situation (insurance forcing them to change the roof) so I gave him Steve's contact info. read more

Steve was incredibly honest and also found structural issues that we needed to fix, although it would be done by a general contractor and not by Accurate Roofing. I pretty much go to Yelp and review my fellow Yelpers comments on outfits before I solicit bids on any large home project. Re-roofing my home was no exception. I got 3 companies from Yelp with 4-5 stars only, no need to talk to lower rated outfits. Steve, the owner, was my second appointment. He was super friendly, knowledgeable about the codes in my city, confirmed everything the first roofing guy said (as I started to learn the lingo) and added some new information I had not heard. He asked questions, listened to my concerns and new found knowledge, and made me feel like it was not an inspection or condemnation of my awful looking old as sin roof. He explained the timetable and promised a quote the next day. I had 2 more outfits to interview so I was in no hurry. After I had interviewed all 4 outfits, Steve was the only one to (1) ask for my business [nice touch] and (2) after he sent the quote did not bug me, he simply said "call me with any questions." I went with Steve, even though he was not the lowest, but not the highest either. I was scheduled for a Monday-Wednesday job. He guys parked their truck out front on Saturday in preparation for Monday. It was in front of my neighbor's house, who I told her "they are with me." Knowing (and possibly liking) your neighbors helps when construction is underway. I had them park in front of my house after they started. Steve continued constant communication with me throughout the 3 day project. I made some changes mid-way through construction and his guys were very accommodating with the change orders. Remove Direct TV Dish (have AT&T now) "no problem" - correct duct work from 2 bathrooms exhaust vents [improperly installed] "no problem" - add another damper on my garage (nice addition to vent the garage with two cars in it) "no problem." I could go on, but since I work mostly from my home office, I guess I could have been viewed as a "pesky homeowner" but Steve and his guys never made me feel that way. The wife loves it, my neighbors love it, and I would recommend Steve and Accurate Roofing Solutions to anyone that wants a new or repaired roof. I've uploaded some pics. Seven years since Steve and his team replaced our roof, we find a small leak due to the "bomb cyclone" we are having. Steve promptly sent someone out to take a look within the same week. No issues with the roof were identified. The leak seems to be coming from the siding of the chimney. Despite that, his foreman help sealed the chimney siding for a temporary fix, just in time before the next big wave of rain hit. So far it seems to be holding up. Fingers crossed that it stays that way before I can get someone to fix it permanently. Again big thanks to Steve and his team. I was in charge of dealing with getting a new roof installed for our condo HOA. Actually, it was two buildings with both slanted shingle portions of the roof and a flat portion in the middle. I'm also someone who does his homework. The GAF Timberline HDZ roofing shingle is very highly rated on Consumer Reports and is highly recommended as a great value for the money. When you have a great product, a outstanding installation team and you are dealing with someone who will give you an awesome deal, it's a winning combination. Steve is a straight shooter and will work with you to ensure you get what you want and need for a very reasonable price. His team is totally professional, fast and do a truly outstanding clean-up. If you have ever had a roof redone, you know how messy it can be; and how hard it is to collect all the detritus left over after the job. I just did a very through walk around, (both on the roof and around the yard) I found practically nothing, just a few very small bits. The gutters were actually much cleaner than they were before work began. The best part is how fast they were. The whole thing, (both complete tear off and re-roofing) took only two days. They not only replaced the existing roof but identified some areas that were originally done incorrectly, made the necessary repairs and made sure we would never have an similar problem. Needed a new roof after 20+ years. Initial contact with Steve, the owner, was easy and his quote was fair. We didn't bother speaking with other roofing contractors. The installation of cool roof shingles that are energy efficient were recommended. Also, Steve recommended an underlayerment of a newer, synthetic material that is recyclable and mold-resistant. Installation was easy and efficient. Crews were always on time (or early) and clean-up was a priority for them at the end of the work day. When the city inspector showed up at the final inspection commented that the job was one of the best he had seen due to the workmanship and amount of venting that was installed. Apparently, contractors who are cheap and/or trying to cut corners install fewer vents which can lead to excess heating-a/c costs and other problems down the road. It's difficult to find good and reliable contractors locally. And I'm trying to avoid dealing with the big roofing companies that don't have their presense locally. And I think it'll be easier to deal with a local company when you need warranty work done. Steve was referred to me by one of the general contractors that I have dealt with before. His company is local to the southbay, so it's easier to make appt and such. I contacted Steve and he responded promptly, showed up on time for the appointment. He explained to me what he planned to do and answered all the questions. He gave me a verbal quote on the day of the appt. And he dropped off a detailed written quote a few days later. Very professional all the way. Since roof replacement is a big deal to me, you only get to do it once every decade or two, I don't want to rush into things. Accurate Roofing Solutions was the best choice and a very professional company for our LARGE request to reroof 15 extremely steep townhomes. We worked with 20 roofing companies and received only 7 bids, others would not take the job due to the steep roofs, etc. They completed 15 townhomes in only 19 working days. Now that is a well-oiled machine. From the very beginning working with Steve was a pleasure. He was up front, honest, and very accurate about everything. His pricing was not only competitive, but beat out others. His warranty was better than some, his wood replacement prices were better and we worked together on everything throughout the entire project. I can't say enough about the wonderful team he has working for him. They worked extremely hard throughout every day during temperatures of 93° (which must have been at least 103° on the roof). In our case, the workers had to work with individual homeowners from each townhome and they reached out to make each and every one of them feel special and to meet their needs with great success.
