Super friendly and helpful. Was very kind to explain how the process works. Definitely recommend if your bank closes early

I have been a Chase customer for quite some time now (many years in fact) and haven't really had…read moremany issues with them. This instance however, really irked me. I used their mobile deposit service to deposit a settlement check from my old company's lawsuit. I deposited it late on Friday evening which Usually entails an extra day of wait time based on their terms and conditions, that's fine. I called the customer service on Monday afternoon to see about when the money would be available and she told me possibly end of business day or first thing tomorrow. Tuesday mid afternoon I go into this location and the banker tells me there is a "system hold" on my check and it could be held up to an additional week and there's nothing they can do..... except maybe clear the pending deposit. I left frustrated and came back later that evening to talk to the manager who basically told me they were holding my money until the hold came off and there was nothing I could do... until he said "well I can probably cal someone in the morning and go to bat for you". Long story short, I called the customer service again the next day and the amazing lady had me on hold for 7 mins and handled the whole thing and got me my money.

What a thoroughly unpleasant experience. I went into Chase to cash a check from a client of mine…read more I used to be a client of Chase back when it was called Washington Mutual. I left the bank because their fees were ridiculous and they padded charges all the time to my account and I basically felt that they were stealing from me - so I closed my account. When I went in to cash my client's check today the teller informed me that since I had no credit cards or accounts with Chase they would have to charge me am $8.00 fee to cash a check from a client who DOES have an account at their bank. I was quite unpleasantly surprised as I have cashed checks at Wells Fargo and Bank of America many times by tellers who are completely polite and professional and don't raise an eyebrow while cashing your check and certainly never consider asking for a fee for performing this service. When I told the teller at Chase that that was one of the reasons I closed my account when they were Washington Mutual she became decidedly unfriendly. She proceeded to count out the money to me (minus my $8.00 of course) and just pushed the money across the counter at me without a word. No "thank you, have a nice day" - nothing. I looked at her she stared at me and I walked out shaking my head. This experience comes in second only to my last encounter at Chase Bank during which I was informed that I cannot deposit cash. Cash mind you - to a friend's account because they do not accept cash deposits. I then had to go somewhere else, get a money order in my friend's name, come back to Chase Bank and deposit the money order into my friend's account. All because, again - Chase "Bank" does not accept cash deposits. Absolutely incredible.
