Wow. These guys RULE. I had one of the front windows of my Market street business broken and needed a quick fix. I called, got a quote, (it was super reasonable) called back, booked an appointment, two hours later the guys were there, an hour after that and a brand new window was installed. Amazing. There was great communication from start to finish, and they cleaned up after themselves (which literally never happens in these scenarios). My only complaint is that the window they installed is so beautiful that it makes my other three windows look ugly lol. Keeping these guys in mind for when I'm ready to replace those to match the great job they did on the broken window. read more

I'm very disappointed with my experience. This company replaced an insulated glass unit (IGU) in a window prior to my purchase of the home. From the very first rainy season after installation, the window leaked from the interior corners. I have photos documenting the leak during that initial warranty period. The installer later acknowledged that the exterior perimeter of the IGU was never weather-sealed, yet claimed this was an "optional" service rather than a required part of the installation. As a result, the window allows water intrusion during wind-driven rain. When I contacted the company to resolve the issue, responsibility was repeatedly deflected to other parties, and I was told the warranty had expired -- despite the defect existing from the start. No reasonable effort was made to correct the incomplete installation, even with active leaks during the rainy season. I would not recommend this company if you expect proper weatherproofing, accountability, or support when issues arise. read more

We didn't know how to find a professional place to install a custom-cut tiny mirror to replace a broken one that was built into a tiny shelf of ours. Ace does big jobs so were reluctant to even ask about our small one, But within minutes of our requesting an online estimate, we got a response. Sure enough, Ace completed our small project within a day and the price was more than reasonable. They even sent us home with hardware so that we could re-hang the shelf! Reached out to Alex in 2022 for a quote to replace double pane glass. He arrived and took measurements of the failed glass on the windows. Alex mentioned needing scaffolding for the replacement glass and not being able to source the exact low e glass tint for the replacement. Instead he recommended I reach out to other SF companies for quotes. I wish I called other reputable window and glass companies along the Peninsula first. Bizarre. Asked Alex for a bid and he refuses to give me a bid because the shower pan is not installed. I sent him photos of a shower pan that IS installed. He continues to believe that I DON'T have a shower pan. It's like we live on different planets. Be careful with communication - this contractor clearly has poor communication. The quote on the call, I provided dimension, and expected service (including pictures) which was consistent measurement so there was absolutely no reason why the quote would be almost double. read more

I ended up asking them to change the glass packs out of my kitchen windows because they had decorative internal cross hatches. They ordered the glass and came out and changed the glass out in my vinyl windows. The change was amazing so I had them do my living room too. If you have windows with internal cross pieces in them you will not believe how much nicer non obstructed glass is. 5 stars. We needed to replace a broken door and Ace returned our quote request within a few days. This doesn't seem like a tall order, but several other places we called just couldn't bother despite repeatedly said they would (why??) The best thing about Ace is that when there was problem, they worked with us and offered more than one solutions to make things right. Wendy does a really good job managing the office, and the customers. However, Alex stated one price on my tenants' windows, and then tripled the price when the quote came. By then, we had no other options since we booked the time with the tenants. He and his colleagues were 3 hours late on a 4 hour time window of time. This is after he cancelled the day before, one hour before he was supposed to be on site. All 4 men had mobiles, but not one thought to call Wendy or the customer. The work was passable. They are well over OUR price point for a small piece of tempered glass that will allow me to keep my cute cat shower curtain but provide protection from shower near the edges. (The shower curtain and liner are not always reliable). One appreciates that the work is probably about the same whether you need 12 in or a much wider piece. I will say that they get back to you when they say they will get back to you with an estimate. A bonus is that the shop, with friendly employees, is a few feet from Costco samples. read more

We've called upon ACE Glass two times. The first time, our neighbor's Realtor accidentally smashed a street level window and gleefully said "Don't worry, I'll pay for it" as he drove off. Save that for another review. ACE had me provide measurements and a picture over the phone and then Wendy went away for 10 minutes before calling me back to say "we'll have someone there by 5pm. The window was removed, repaired, replaced and the job cleaned up before our tenant ever got home. Price never seems reasonable for any of these type of emergency repairs, but not outrageous. This morning, someone tried to break into our garage via the window.
