Stopped at Ace Hardware after picking up my auntie. I needed to have a few of keys copied. Unfortunately, I was only able to have two of the three keys copied. The clerk referred me to Lock and Safe in Englewood. The clerk explained that they had not received training for car keys. Service We walked to the register just as you enter the store. The cashier was with a customer. My aunt and I waited patiently to ask a question. I wanted to know where to go and get the keys made in the store. My aunt is 92 and I did not want to walk around looking for where the keys are made in the store. Anyway, we waited and waited. Never did the cashier acknowledged us or seem concerned that we were waiting. Once she concluded helping her customer she said how can I help you. She was nice and directed us to the back of the store. My complaint, she could have acknowledged us with, I will be with you in a moment. Do you have a quick question? But I have a feeling I am too old fashioned! But I feel elderly people (me included) are invisible or the individual is not a multitasker, and I understand. Key clerk Very nice and upfront. Made a referral by pointing me to the locksmith sign on the wall and sent us on our way. 3 stars since service overall was mediocre. read more

This Ace Hardware is hard to navigate, who puts kitchen utensils next to motor oil and lawn mower belts? Askng an employee for assistance didnt yield the desired results so I left unsatisfied and unfulfilled. The interesting part is that there is a post office location in the back of the store and the postal clerk was probably the friendliest person there. read more

The manager\owner Anne is arrogant, rude and horrible at customer service. She omits a better than her customer mentality. Her staff follow her poor management style. We are new to this neighborhood been here 6 times, the staff can't find simple things like Teflon tape for gas. If you need a small fitting and have time to search for it, this store is a fit. Try the trading post up the street. Final comment, never buy anything assembled at this location, I have bought assembled products from other stores with success, but this store is unreliable and won't stand behind their workmanship. read more

This Ace hardware was recommended to me by a friend as a place to have my lamp repaired. However, I think things have drastically changed. I took my lamp to be repaired here and didn't get it back for over 2 months. The first time I checked back they didn't have it repaired yet and the second time I checked they said they couldn't find it and the third time they still hadn't found it. After waiting a decent amount of time, I checked back again and finally did get my lamp back but was really overcharged. Also, they wouldn't give me back my 2 light bulbs ($8) that I had in the lamp when I took it there to be repaired. So I feel this definitely is not a place to take your lamp for repairs. read more

Always friendly and helpful! I hardly even need to go looking for someone to help, and their employees are k knowledgeable. They greet you when you walk in and offer to help, and also find you in the aisles and offer to help you. Almost always have what i need and if not they offer to order it for you. Manage Anne is horrible and rude. She will not honor ACE return policy because her store is losing money for thefts. She hung up the phone when asked where the return policy stated I couldn't return a certain item and she she well that's wrong and couldn't give me an answer. read more

What a random review to leave but I felt like I had to. I walked in and was immediately greeted by someone asking me if I needed help. This is one of those stores where you know what you need but at the same time you're not really sure what to look for. I was told exactly where to go to find what I need. This Ace Hardware is a great store to have in our area. It's well stocked with a surprising variety of products for both home repairs, household goods, and live plants during growing season. The staff seems quite knowledgeable too. There is a also a Post Office annex in the back of the store which is very convenient and has friendly employees. I have used their tool sharpening service as well to get my hedge clippers sharpened, which took 3-4 days. Sometimes the parking lot in this strip mall is a little crowded on Saturday mornings, but I have always been able to find a spot to park. Trader Joe's is in the same shopping center which adds to its convenience. read more

When I go to an Ace Hardware, I expect to be greeted at the door by friendly employees who are more than willing to help. This has always been the case at any Ace franchise that I've been to. This is why I am so floored by the way I have been treated at the Cherry Hills Ace. I left almost in tears after a man named Jim was so rude and unkind to me after dropping off a package at their USPS desk. I had my package in my own mailing envelope, and had a couple of questions about the postage. He treated me like i was the most annoying human being on the planet. He seemed so angry that I had accidentally written the zip code wrong, diligently glaring at me as I quickly found the correct address on my phone. He told me the cost of the postage, to which I replied "okay" as in I would like to proceed. He responds with "okay...what?" With so much attitude that my mouth was hanging open under my mask. I ran out shocked and upset with how I had been treated by Jim. I've lived in several places across the US and I typically choose Ace Hardware over big box stores in order to support a local franchise. It's a shame how I was treated today, and I'm sad to say that i won't be going back. I suggest that others forgo the overpriced home improvement supplies and go somewhere else. read more

Friendly service and clean store. Unfortunately, a key that I got made at this store just plain didn't work. That's pretty annoying when you're hosting guests from out of town and having to leave them with your only set of keys. I now have to make a second trip to the store to get the key remade. This store is further away from my house than other Ace stores, but there was a specific fertilizer I needed and they had it. So glad I went! The manager, Steve, and cashier Angela were amazing and helped me with all my needs (admittedly a few unrealistic and unusual). Though further away, I will be driving the extra miles from now on. Received a $$ off coupon in the mail, which was not good for sale items. I selected 2 items that were not marked on sale. At the register, I am told that one of the items is a sale item and did not qualify for the coupon offer. I explained that it was not marked on sale. The girl's attitude was argumentative and totally non-apologetic. I spoke with the manager - received the same "too bad, so sad" attitude. The sale item was not marked and the manager took no ownership that it was her store's responsibility to mark sale items. I suggested it was a form of "bait and switch" and her response was "I don't see it that way." I ended up returning the items. Aside from sales staff who go out of their way to be helpful, the girl at the register and the store manager were just the opposite. read more

This is by far the worst Ace I have been to. I went there one day to grab some stuff and didn't dress up for it which apparently makes me some kind of criminal. I wore shorts, a short sleeve button up, a cap, and sandals... which I think is pretty decent weekend wear for a Coloradan and they had employees follow me around constantly that I eventually just got fed up and walked out without buying what I needed. read more

Purchased an expensive battery at this store. Found out it is priced incorrectly, at the store I paid 9.99, on the internet it is priced at 5.99. Also,battery only lasted one week, must have been old. Took it back and associate was rude, not at all helpful. Pretty much told me "I don't do pricing and the battery is your problem, not ours". Really surprised at how they handled this situation, I would give them a big fat "F" on customer service. From other reviews, sounds like this is normal for this store. Walked in needing advice on a minor plumbing issue. Someone came to help me right away(unlike a big box store with the initials HD). Derrick (I think) told me what I needed and said plumbing problems usually take three trips. Minus the two trips to HD, and getting the eye roll and I can't help you call the manufacturer. I was done after 3 trips to Ace. I wish I would have gone there first. I also got a very girly hot pink leopard print tool box @ Ace, they have won my business! I live with walking distance of HD but won't go there again because of their attitude towards customers. Ace really is the place! read more

It's great to have a complete hardware store that's close to home and that offers great customer service. The layout of the store is very simple, but there is never a shortage of staff to help you find what you need. Easy to get in and out within a few minutes, in the same time it takes to walk from your car to the front entrance at Home Depot. Plus, the store is locally owned. read more

This store is what every local hardware store should be: well-stocked, extremely helpful staff, good prices. Here is just one example: last weekend I went to the store looking to replace my backyard water spigot. I brought in the old one, and David showed me that all I needed was a new washer, which cost a grand total of fifty-nine cents plus tax. On top of that, he spent a good ten minutes replacing the washer for me. He didn't have to do any of that, but he did. Not only was he a terrific representative for Ace, but it's obvious that the store management encourages that kind of customer attention and care. That is the epitome of outstanding customer service, and it's why I'll make a point of going back to this Ace Hardware any time I need anything. (In writing this review I have probably spent only a quarter of the time that David spent on me.) read more

Not only were the girls in the back extremely helpful but even went with my mom to make sure that the key they had just cut would work! I walked in with a bike U-lock that had seized up from rust. Dave, the assistant manager, took it and cleaned it up as good as new, free of charge. An employee at Sierra Trading Post sent me over when they didn't have what I needed. I needed a bungee cord to close my backpack around snowshoes I had bought at Sierra, so that I could safely bike home with my purchase. One employee here at Ace directed me to the right area, and Steve came over to help when I wasn't finding the exact one I needed. Steve was kindly able to find it.
