I really loved the number of pools, spa areas, and play zones for kids. It's definitely a fun and family-friendly spot. But unfortunately, my visit took a bad turn. I slipped and fell on a very slick floor -- and I hadn't even been in the water yet. There was no caution sign at the spot, and it only appeared hours after my fall. My leg is still sore, and it completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing day. A friend invited me and she's a huge fan of this place, so I really wanted to enjoy it too. But safety should come first. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves the floor safety. Sadly, 3 stars from me for now.

Despite that, the associate responded by asking if I would be the guest. The interaction was surprising and uncomfortable, as it appeared an assumption was made about who held the membership. My guest and I found the comment inappropriate, and it left us questioning whether unconscious bias played a role in the exchange. I believe all members should be treated with the same level of respect and professionalism, regardless of their race or appearance. While this may not have been the associate's intention, the experience left a negative impression and is something management should address through staff training and awareness.

This gym also has a smell of cat litter. Not sure if it's the rubber floors or what, but the bottom floor really stinks. Other than those two, a gym is a gym and I'm there to work out. The sauna is nice and gets very hot.

The owner, Dan Owens, instructs these classes often and will absolutely crush your upper and lower body in the best possible way. He is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to making sure every person in the room knows what to do and helps with form if necessary and welcomed. Another great perk is access to the locker rooms and saunas. I feel the entire facility is kept clean and organized. I love the big windows everywhere which allow for a ton of natural light to come inside. I also enjoy using the indoor/outdoor green space on the bottom floor which has a garage door that can open and close depending on the weather. Very nice during Spring, Summer and early Fall. I never feel like I have to wait for equipment to free up, and they do offer complimentary towels at the front desk upon check-in. This athletic club is on ClassPass and I typically just purchase gym time using a couple credits or I sign up for the circuit or conditioning classes.

I had a groupon package with 1144 Athletics, and it was one of the best things I could have done…read morefor myself. Andre is knowledgeable about what he is doing. In the same space of time, I had the opportunity to try out four separate trainers, and I can safely say, Andre is skilled in what he does. He is aware of nutrition, and exercise techniques that will help you achieve your body's maximum results. I always had a good workout with him that did not leave me over exhausted and did not cause me injury. I like the fact that the man talks the talk, and walks the walk. I had no idea until after these experiences that not all trainers knew what the heck they were doing! One trainer had me so exhausted I ended up with migraine headaches, another tried to put me on some really junky protein shake which totally went against MY nutrition goals. Andre listened and made recommendations. He also strives for total body health (inside and out) which I was impressed by. Now I will say, Andre is a straight shooter. He will not hold back on things he wants to say. He may come off a little rough, but if you can look past that, and get around or over the organizational issues, you will be just fine. You just have to decide what is most important for you. If your goal is someone who will be your cheerleader, and stand with you the entire time, you may not be satisfied. Andre is a multi-tasker, and once he gets you set up, he will check back in on you from time to time. It worked for me because I knew where my focus was--on MY body. In the time I worked with Andre, I noticed a big difference in my body tone. I did 2 hours per week with him and that was just fine. I also modified my food intake and lost 15 pounds in 2 months. Another thing I liked was that not once did he upsell or tried to pressure me into signing up or buying a package. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same thing about the gym around the corner from my house. I went there on a promotion to check it out and as soon as I stepped in the door it was sales and marketing. It pissed me off so much that I knew right then and there it was not going to work for me. Andre knows that he doesn't need to pressure sales because once you see results, you will want to come back. I also need to add that each one of those four previous trainers I experienced during the same time frame, only one of them are still at the gym where I met them. Which brings me to my last and final point. This is Andre's professional business--not a side gig he is trying out and as a result, he is going to be around for a while. You want to work out with someone who you can develop a training relationship with and not be passed around to other trainers. I do not normally write reviews, and I felt it would be an injustice not to share this with others looking for it. Best of luck in your fitness goals!
